How does a guy from GB celebrate when the France SX gets cancelled and moved to the middle east? And while we're at it, how does a guy from GB become such a huge cheerleader for racing SX only? lol. All we've heard from Euros for years is SX is a circus and nothing more than a bastardized version of real motocross.

I can still go to a gp and watch motocross, I can also now go to a supercross event , as for the middle east comment if you watch f1 or MotoGP the Middle East rounds are huge and have a insane amount of money pumped into them , more money in the sport the more riders gets paid, the same as bigger sponsors in the sport more money to distribute , added exposure to riders , it’s not hard to work out more money is good for the sport

Man that sounds great. I wonder why Mubadala, which is owned by the government of Abu Dhabi, didn't put a round there in the first place? Maybe they don't like getting a return on their money?

Hey Grape,

That's what I was thinking...Unlike the stadium in Lyon which they have to pay top rental rates for, it would be like having a daughter's wedding in your backyard versus renting a venue. Much easer to make a profit on a round if you own the venue. If you have to cancel that's easier to swallow too.

Normally these things with no incoming money are just held together for money laundering purposes. Netflix should be filming whats happening already.

Potential PR....."Because of political unrest in the area we have decided that it is in best interest for all parties that we postpone the upcoming WSX round in France" You know how Feld handled the cancelation of the Oakland round this year with a statement.....

Or they could just be silent and not say a word....

Something tells me you would be on here grumbling and arguing with people no matter what the case was.

I can honestly say I haven't watched more than 3 minutes of highlight videos of the 2 rounds that have happened so far.

If I want to watch 15th-20th place guys I can go to any number of fair races within 3 hours of my house and watch them in person.

You mean ama sx moto winners Roczen and Amstie or all the new euros that can live at home and race or both Hill brothers or your new AMA commentator and 5 time Aus champ, this series is so good to watch, Melbourne was the best event I’ve ever seen.

Roczen is the only premier racer in that series and you know it.

Sure, Justin Hill got a podium this year but it took 90% of the factory guys being injured.  Josh is a 15th-20th place guy, just like I said.

Anstie won at the Regional level in the US, in the mud, against a fairly weak field.

The "5x Aussie Champ" who has retired from US Supercross because he doesn't want to compete at that level anymore?  Thanks for bringing him up, it just further legitimizes my point that this series is ideal for retired dudes to make easy money. Tongue

Look, it's cool for guys to have a way to make money racing but the folks who are so desperately trying to act like this is some "World Championship level" series are out to lunch or have a reason to defend it for their own personal gain.

Which side of that would you say you fall on?

The series has got to start somewhere right ? Your right there is some sub par riders but they are still gate fillers in AMA and AMA only have 3 guys who run up front always anyway so it’s similar WSX has unique format racing to suit even those sub par racers

throws sub par racers run with these ama guys when ether visit there countries because they are on him soil comfortable at home and surroundings other then USA

accept there is other cultural challenges around the world that resist in these guys performing to their absolute peak when they come to US correct ?

Thank you Sir.

They’re building their entire series off of “US” riders.  Fine you want to take our guys but at least get the top Europeans too…herlings, Geiger etc and let’s get this rivalry going. Then I’d be hell bent on watching. Until then there’s more than enough racing and podcasts in the us that I don’t have time to follow another series.  I can’t even follow MXGP.

not saying it isn’t cool for fans overseas

Off topic, is Chad's kid fast?

Like chance of making it to the big leagues fast?

They got a pretty late start on riding, no?

Not fast right now. Obviously never know how progress will be made over the years to determine how quick he can get.

There would be wailing and gnashing of teeth from many MXGP fans if Herlings, Gajser, Prado, etc., opted to make the WSX truly a World Championship by lining up for the series.

Can I ask why it bothers you so much? Why is it that you weren't able to find this announcement the other day but today your somehow found out they are discounting ticket prices for the British round? How did you find that out?

It looks like they had emails sent to ticket holders of the event to let them know as well.

Because it's a shady way of doing business, to act like it's business as usual and nothing happened is a poor business practice. As far as the BOGO tickets, Lewis tweeted that was happening, basically they are giving away seats to put asses in seats for the appearance...again shady...

The comment regarding Lyon, Paris and France, is just amazing. A nice pile of BS. Total fake news of course, but because we read it on the internet it must be true Smile

I really wonder who the fake news are benefiting to. Nice bait Smile or was it just some humor I don't get ?

They sure are very discreet about it or the actual reasons of the "postponement".

Sign me up.  I would absolutely love to see the rivalry and if WSX actually got MXGP guys then it’s what we are all waiting for. Thant would then have the world glued to their tv…

I have seen a few comments about what's going on in France right now but had no idea, I searched tiktok for France protests and riots, wow its crazy there right now. There is no way anyone would be travelling there, the whole place is imploding and self destructing. I had no idea this was going on, crazy times we live in. I encourage people to check it out. Smart move canceling the round.

Yes, they're race riots, not mostly peaceful protests.

A legacy of France's colonial days in North Africa and other social issues.

Lyon is hard hit, lots of good reasons why you wouldn't try to run a big event.
