It's still a little early but weather is calling for rain, looks like Red Bud could be a mudfest. All the smoke in the air and the air quality here currently sucks so hoping the rain will clean things up a bit....

I think we’ve had one of these threads for every round of the nationals so far 😭

But seriously, we need the rain to help put out the wild fires.

I just looked at 3 or 4 weather reports.

2 of them had no rain till Sat.

2 had a small chance Thurs fri. And like 50% on Sat.

An all of them said 0.1-0.2 inches that's like 2-4mls.

That's barely enough to keep the dust down.

The track can handle rain better than most tracks so I’d prefer if we had a real muder I hope it’s one of the last three.

Predicting weather in that part of MI is a waste of time....The only time you can correctly predict rain there is if there is an MXDN scheduled.....

The weather in our area is all over the place. It's not predicted correctly until it's happening. I hope we get rain, but after the races are done.

For the guys who are up there, what's the haze like? Down here in southwest Indiana, it's picked up significantly today.

It gets worse day by day. Nothing like the North East saw a few weeks back, but we were down to 1.0 mile visibility. I'm hoping it dissipates soon or the winds shift from the South.

It’s fucked for my friends in Chicago. Like, can’t see the city skyline from Logan Square.

My in-laws are right outside of Detroit and it’s really bad for them there too.

Historically it almost never rains for the Redbud national. It's been a drought in this region as well - in the Chicago metro I think we've had two measurable rainfalls since May 8th. For the sake of humidity I hope we don't get the possible scattered showers, but at least temps are forecasted in the low 80s.

I hate mudders. I didn’t used to mind them but I hate them now. Ruined both Des Nations races at Red Bud.

I live about 40 minutes from Red Bud.  Smoke was real bad yesterday, a little better today.  There is a front coming Thursday evening that is supposed to clear it out, but they keep pushing that back.  My eyes itch, nose is running and throat is sore.  I work outside all day, every day.  I can’t imagine any pro athlete being eager to run a 180 heart rate with the air quality.  Be interesting to see how it goes.

As far as rain, not much at the moment.  We have been in a 3-4 week dry spell with only a few rains.  The track should easily handle what is forecasted, but, it is Michigan, so that can change quickly.  Fingers crossed for clean air and a good track!

We just got to a rental house in South Bend….sky’s are clear!  Hoping no smoke 20 minutes north at the track.

I,ve been in that smoke a few days mostly in Ny & Pa. It gets ya sick pretty bad. My sinuses blow up where my ears hurt, eyes burn, stomach pain, etc. a few places I pu at said everyone got so sick they sent everyone home even the office people . Sunday Ohio 20 mi from Indiana had 80 mph winds , hard rain& tornadoes. Then another storm in Indiana near the track . No tornados tho & less wind.  Chicago was just hard rain. Ohair ap to the s. On 294 couple hundred cars piled up after the gay pride parade festival.  Too high to drive in a storm . Probably still cleaning the mess up.

I,m not there & it is on the other side of Lake Michigan. But air quality lastnight in gb was 205 & my phone says smoke. This is aprox 6 weeks they need to get there wild fires under control.  It’s ruining our short summer.

Accu weather just blipped my phone dangerous air quality alert Midwest & ne, Baltimore has ovr 200. I don’t trust that Canadian pm at all.  He froze Canadian trucking co.s bank accounts . Because they kept operating during c19.  Of course the trucking co.s found a way around having there millions frozen.
