To be not so next level? Came off the couch, had the fastest lap times in practice and the 2nd moto.
Jett is very good and will only get better, but geez, they are shoving this next level generational talent down our throats. Like I said in another post, he reminds me of Kdub without an RC. Time will tell if anyone steps up to be Jett’s RC.
Came off the couch?
Roczen has been training hard for WSX, did a couple of motos prior to Highpoint, and showed no late race fade at all.
Kenye is in very good shape and riding well.
Jett, a 450 rookie, worked him over, on a lacklustre day for the #18.
You’re right - he’s like Windham but with more titles.
Jett is certainly killing it. But didn't Ryan Dungey just do something very similar to this in 2010? Went 1-1 in 8/12 rounds. If Tomac, Sexton, and Roczen were racing I doubt Jett is 8-0 right now.
Moto 1 - Jett falls, Kenny has a 9 sec gap. 6 laps later he passed Kenny back and when Kenny falls he’s over 2 secs ahead.
Moto 2 - Jett gets stuck behind AP when he falls, gap to Kenny is 10.7 secs. Jet passes for the lead on lap 11 and by the final lap gap is 6.3 secs.
Roczen was clearly better than the other factory riders yet Jett put 11 secs on Kenny in moto 1 and 17 secs in moto 2.
And still went 1-1…

I like Kenny when he isn't whining, it's been great to see him having fun with his riding and with the family and loosening up a bit while still being fantastic to watch and putting in some good rides, no hate here in any way, shape or form.
But the "Coming off the couch" narrative is a bit of a stretch. He's been racing regularly until recently and still riding and testing, on a bike that Chiz (an excellent test rider in his own right) has been working on for motocross with his and Kenny's team, he should be good, and he was. I appreciate it does make a good story line, but that's all the 'off the couch' thing is, not that that takes anything away from his performance.
It was good to see Kenny riding well and Jett being pushed a little, I liked what I saw from both of them and like them both, I'll leave it at that 👍
I agree, Kenny is in killer shape right now.
And I wish they'd have shown more of him riding.
His style is low revving and smooth, just like Jett's.
But I also think Jett was just playing the game yesterday.
When it was time, he just slowly ate away the time gap, without even looking stressed.
So does this thread qualify as shoving Jett down your own throat?
I agree, it was so impressive to see Jett blatantly take a step back, dial it down a few notches after getting into trouble, he was completely relaxed while scoping out where he could push and where he could make up time, then he executed and put himself right back to the front.
No panic or desperation or urgency, just a solid evaluation for a lap or two and then he dropped the hammer again.
I've always like him but tried to stay reserved and not big him up too much, but it was very impressive.
p.s this reply sounds a whole lot like shoving Jett down people's throat yeah, sorry haha 😂
I don't see him running the table, hopefully we get some decent track conditions this summer. The 450's looked slow yesterday, because of the track and how difficult it was.
I’m not saying Jett is not good or won’t be great, but in my eyes he hasn’t done anything “next level” or generational yet, like a MC, RC, JS, RV, ET.
Geezus, RC said in the broadcast yesterday that’s Jett will break all the records, even his! The kid hasn’t even lined up for a 450 SX yet! But he’s going to break all the records! Okay 👌🏼
I watched the race, Jett went 1-1. Yeah, no, just sayin.
Of course he hasn’t broken many records yet but we won’t know until the end of his career.
He has won four 250F titles in a row which I believe hasn’t been done before. Yesterday he also equaled David Bailey’s record for most consecutive moto wins from the start of a premier class career (8).
He’s also well on his way to winning the 450 title in his rookie year. There can’t be many to do that; without checking through the books only RC and Dungey come mind in more recent times so if he achieves that he’s in good company.
The track sucked. It was indeed clear to see who were the superior riders…the guys who made it look easy,
Kenny & Jett.
Roczen will kill n WSX.
The only thing I asked myself after the race: how bad are the others riding? KTM boys for example look terrible. American motocross has seen better days…
Carmichael himself said on the broadcast that Jett has the opportunity to break all of the records, including his own
OP is a dumbass
The Four best American MX riders are all injured. Even for America that’s a big blow.
Yeah I agree with that, I guess I need to realize that back then when other generational guys were doing it we didn’t have much if any social media, so it just seems like the Lawrence’s are just being so over saturated in the media.
He won two straight 250SX titles, two straight 250MX titles and has not lost a moto yet this year. How is he not generational? He is still a teenager. This field is weak right now and he is currently bitch slapping everyone. I do think DF 14 is coming, but it’s already to late for him to do a title run. You’re on the wrong side of history already.
Pit Row
I'm pretty sure RC said he had potential to break all the records, not that he will break all of the records.
It seems to me the only person shoving the "generational talent" thing down our throats is the generational talent who is doing all the winning. ALL the winning, that is.
Chase and Eli (hope he comes back). Who else is missing? Anderson?
It might’ve been the track, it might’ve been pressure of actually riding with someone that has one lap speed that can match him, but Jett clearly wasn’t as comfortable Saturday as he was the previous rounds. Yes he went 1-1 but was the first time noticed multiple foot dabs & other mistakes that have been uncharacteristic for him this year. Hopefully Chase will come back so we can see some racing at the front yet this year in the 450 class
Jett’s damn good…but he wouldn’t be this dominant at all with a fully stacked class. That’s a fact!
I’ll bet Eli is pissed.
Complains about getting Jett shoved down his throat.
Proceeds to open another Jett thread.
Bam and Anderson imo
Keyword buddy “opportunity” meaning he hasn’t broke any records yet! Dumbass 😜
He didn’t break any records his rookie year, didn’t break any records his 250/lites career, way behind RC JS RV on wins.
And here’s comes 250/lites wins and titles don’t count. Lmao
Tomac, Sexton, Anderson and Barcia. And as I was writing this I forgot how good Craig was at times. Last years Craig beats the KTM duo fairly regularly IMO. So you could say the 5 best American racers are out
Now High Point sucks too? Pala sucks, they ruined Hangtown, Lakewood is rutocross. Which tracks are good?
Have you ever heard RC say that about anybody, ever? No?
I suppose you think you’re a better observer and predictor of talent and capabilities than RC
FOH
Haha, Yes I agree with RC, everybody has the “opportunity” at age 20. RC and MC said on Pulp about a year ago that they thought James would’ve broke all the records, guess what, he didn’t!
