Seeing Ty charging through the pack and finishing 7th is awesome
At Pala in the 250 class he was 14th fastest in qualifying but the motor was way off. Was running 13th after starting around 25th in the first moto. Cartwheeled with about 10 minutes left and still finished 14th and injuring his ankle. Got a cortisone shot in between motos and gutting it out in the second moto, coming from outside the top 30 to 23rd.
Went to the ER Monday and discovered his ankle was dislocated. They set it and he stayed off the bike until Thursday. Put his 250 suspension on his 450 and rode Thursday. Had to put ice on his ankle between motos, but felt good enough and decided to switch to the 450 class for the rest of the series.
At Hangtown he came from 23rd to 7th the first moto with a tip over about the halfway mark. Top 5 start in the second moto. Forced off the track in turn two, came back on in 11th and finished 7th for 6th overall.
Gonna stick with the 450 and get it dialed in throughout the series.
He qualified 13th on 250s on a bare privateer bike. He beat a ton of factory and supported riders both motos.
It is a no brainer to race 450s right now if you're a privateer. If you aren't factory in the 250s you are at a massive power disadvantage. Why not do what makes you the most money? 7-7 today seems like a smart move to me. The kid can stack motos like this all year and end up top 20 in SMX points.
Careers are about making money. He's obviously doing the financially prudent thing here. He also got some great TV time today for his sponsors.
Raced 2nd pala moto with a dislocated ankle? I wanted to troll this thread but its impossible. Stuff of legends

Dumbest program in recent history! Waste of a career....so much talent wasted
Is he 25 already or did I see that wrong on the broadcast?
Ty is 21.
It's quite obvious "motojmag247" doesn't like Ty or maybe the Masterpool's for whatever reason. Other than his time at Star, he has had to do this mostly on his own. A lot of riders would possibly have thrown in the towel on the dream of racing at this level. Despite setbacks whether satellite team related, or injury related (Ty has had some serious injuries) he has never lost his strong desire, determination and belief in himself to get out there and compete at the pro level. He works tremendously hard, is in great physical shape, despite the ankle, and can get tremendous results. Moto is so difficult at this level for privateers. So many things can go wrong in any moto. To see his qualifying times from Hangtown, to the 7-7 for 6th place overall in his first 450 class race says so much. If ha can get good starts, stay out of trouble on the track, & stay healthy, he can put in results like this more often. As a fan of this sport we all love, we should root for these guys that can achieve results like this with such small budgets to make it happen. I remember back in the day, Sean Hamblin was showing results like this and Decoster (with Suzuki then) took notice and it got Hamblin a lot of Suzuki help that season, and I believe on the team for a couple years because of it.
A thought regarding his Sportsclips sponsorship for the series. What can we as industry people, fans, supporters of the sport do to help make sure that they stick around and have a better than expected experience or return on their support?
While it may not be night and day, Club needs better support from the manufacturer. Hmmmmmmmmm
You’re dreaming bro about Decoster or anyone calling. He’s burned too many bridges along the way. Moranz had an awesome SX season and he never really got any more help than when the season began. If TM has a great outdoor season, good for him. He capitalized on an opportunity. This whole post started about how he was going to be so good on a “250”…….that didn’t happen.
When you reference support from the manufacture, are you implying more $, access to Japan, more parts, or what?
It was a great ride for Masterpool in the 2nd Moto today at Thunder Valley, it was a bit dissapointing that his sponsor didn't get a mention once. Even when battling with Ferrandis they mentioned he was on the Monster Star Yamaha.
It's just a bit of a shame they couldn't say Sportsclips sponsored him, we need to encourage and promote these outside industry sponsors coming in, it's the title sponsor of his privateer program! If the boss of the company was watching the broadcast he would have been thinking for sure they will say our name and we will get some exposure!
X1000000 but this sport is SO POLITICAL. He and his parents know that, so thats a great thing.
um....they literally said he was chasing the mullet(AP7) in front of him so he could clip it off (while mentioning he was sponsored by sport clips, lol
Yup, gave them a clear mention.
I totally missed that, I apologise, I'm glad that it did Atleast get a mention then,
I missed it when they made the above call when chasing Plessinger !
Pit Row
So close to a 3rd place podium finish .
I was glad that they interviewed him!
Weege had a great line. He mentioned Masterpool was sponsored by sports clips and then referenced the mullet hanging out the back of AP's helmet at the same time. To say it never got mentioned is not factual. Weege did bring it up.
I realise this now and apologised in an above post as I did not hear that at the time.
Actually, Weege and Stewart did talk about his sponsor Sportclips during the broadcast. They were joking that Masterpool would clip Plessinger’s mullet.
It also said “team sports Clips Kawasaki” on the bottom on the screen under his name.
A JT$ trim every day, by everyone!
Im not sure if anyone in this thread has mentioned this but they actually made a reference to him cutting off AP’s mullet. I just looked through this thread and it seems like nobody has brought it up.
He was on rails today!! Bike looked good! Shows you do t need factory equipment!
Does anyone actually know why the factory teams don't like him? Not speculation please. The kid is one of those rare talents that is just plain fun to watch ride. Check out his IG riding videos if you have not. He is clearly in great shape too.
