Really sorry for you, I'm still gutted a couple years later.  Dog are so pure the loss of the companion is hard.

New gal in the house, technically my son's.  She's sweet, young mutt rescue from the pound, wonderful to see her open up as she get's used to being in a stable place with affection.  

Every time I have to put down a dog I say that's it, I can't do it again. Yet, as of a week ago here we go again. My new gun dog:

 He's supposed to get the stitches out Saturday. 

The white thing is because he tore into his body cavity, that's a drain.

I think Huntley pulled it off him early, and we had to go make sure the there wasn't anything left in there.

He's been running around like nothing happened.  The struggle is to keep him chill.

When he did it, I was sitting on the back porch having coffee,  and he came up and his intestines were hanging out,  he was acting as if nothing had happened. 

Cow dogs are tough. You can step on his foot, and instead of like most dogs who yelp, he just looks at you like "The fuck was that about"?

Bet they don't bark much 😂👍

I do get that a lot and is he a fox. Actually got him about 8 years ago good ole Craigslist 50.00 at a country road gas station.  Ad said wolf pups hahaha. Believe it or not he was black on black when I got em. 
 

but he’s been the best dog ever. Super loyal never had to be trained much but you would think otherwise.
