James does not mess around with misc comments or filler words.
Ricky: “back in the day when I was racing I would have worried about passing Cooper to get back into the championship lead”

James: “Eli needs to win, riding behind Cooper won’t cut it”

I am always listening for the point of what Ricky is saying but he struggles to be clear.
And he has no “color commentary” like the “German chocolate” from James.

I guess you are hearing what you want to hear.  I recall plenty of clear concise humorous color comments from Ricky.  My favorite one was "If he goes any slower in that corner, he'll fall over"..  or the "I'm outta here dude".  Many many good comments from Ricky over the years.  Again, I like James in the booth.  I'm just not seeing or hearing anything that you guys are talking about him being such a great announcer.  Entertaining?  Absolutely, its JS7.  But some natural phenom in the booth?  You just sound like JS7 fans being JS7 fans.

JS seems more fluid, RC seems more methodical. I think they make each other better but if I had to pick one, I'd probably pick JS. But definitely prefer to keep them both.

Or he could just call him Kenny that is his nickname…

the whole need for a ”funny” nickname is just lame…

James is good but the way we lost the other guy was pretty lame. Could have incorporated the both of them nd moved on but MX is ALWAYS about the SAME thing, You're Always as good as your last race. Sad!

Daniel Blair knew he would never get a shot at the booth after they put James in it, so he quit.

Your right,

Just imagine if Langston, Stew and Jason.W were in the booth.

Would Weigandt get a word in?.

Be a great commentary for sure

Or... And hear me out here: he took a higher paying, more stable, management position in the same industry that is located in his home region.

I’m pretty sure I heard Chance Hymen and now a new legend is born.

James has a motocross IQ that is unparalleled. As a rider, I always thought he was a bit of a robot. Turns out he is next level as a observer, and fairly humble. This job fits him pretty damn well. My .02

I always thought JS7 was always great and exciting in his podium interviews and he worked extremely well with the crowd. His doing the Sprinkler comes to mind.

Very humble. A couple little moments really stood out to me like when he was asked about jett & chase racing and how it compared to racing rc, he says "well that didn't really happen too often, we'd get outdoors and he'd blow my doors off"

He’s doing a good job but needs to stop saying “comfortable being uncomfortable” in every race.

Stewart does an amazing job in the booth. His Podcast is incredible as well, both race analysis and rider/bike set-up critique.

I never would have guest his bike set-up analysis would be so spot on considering he was known for odd suspension in his riding days.

I grew up listening to David Bailey in the booth, I'm getting similar vibes from James. Love his insights!
