It seems rockstar has been ok with it. I doubt Red Bull cares either at this point in the season. They used to, doesn’t seem to be the case these days.
I never said give him a red bull bike. I said let him park under the semi and give him a mechanic so he can take a breath during practice/heats vs working on bike. You'd think thats the least they could do for someone who is putting their bike consistently on the broadcast.
I dont think Moranz would benefit any with moving to the factory bike this late in the series. Hes clearly got his bike down and understands its preeeeeeettty damn good! Id focus on his future issues he was speakaing about on Gypsy and finish out the series strong with what he has. The eyes he has gained this year have maxed out, in AMA supercross atleast for the year.
Get a good program figured out, get some funding, talking to some people, sponsors etc and keep on rolling.
With this progression I could see him on a factory bike Just Brayton career style.
Moranz is really really good, and once he can keep those explosions of excitement out of the way which are to be expected in such quick progress, hes going to really surprise some people...
imo, 2025 he could be a top 5 450 Supercross overall Racer

True. Red Bull would struggle with the competition from a Fitz Roofing sticker.
How old is he? The field is missing the 2,7,14,Craig,17,Malcolm,51. That’s 7 guys that are top 10 (or better) capable. I can’t see him beating any of those guys consistently.
that's the thing. just like this year. last year, and every other year it gets more and more depleted.. top that with Moranz getting a little better year x year in SX, it could end up being a top 10 overall year? just my opinion. he's a solid rider.
Consistently? How about ever. The only time Moranz would ever beat them is if their bike breaks or they crash out. Sorry, but moranz isn’t as good as people think, otherwise, he wouldn’t have ended up 12th in that main. The best he will ever get is where Chiz is now.
I like Moranz but let’s keep it realistic. You must be blind to the 17 other racers in front of him this season. 10th overall maybe…but to think top 5; you must have stopped smoking weed and went straight to smoking crack since the first page of this thread.
The dude didnt ride a ton in off season, works on his own bikes, and likely cant train consistently on the road. If he had a ride, mechanic, and could ride during week there is no telling what place he might get.
Maybe he finally beats the guys that have the same program and are beating him? Like Starling
Quick look shows he also runs FMF, Rekluse, Pirelli etc... none of which Factory KTM runs.
I like Moranz and his fresh look at representing his sponsors on social media but to be a fill in rider he has to call every one of is sponsors and ask for their blessing in doing it. Most will say ok but it is still the sponsors call.
Clarification, Dennis?
For the most part, these are phone call issues with folks who have been kind enough to toss him some free/discount parts, not million dollar dealbreakers.
Kid is a business major, let him negotiate.
Let's not get carried away hear it wouldn't matter what he was riding. He's just your average higher and plug that gets good start. He's never going to be a factory guy or even be on the same lap. Let's be real here
Pit Row
I'm shocked no one on Pulp is giving Kevin a shot for top 3 in LCQ race. Am I missing something? He starts good of course. How can he not be a mention for top three?
He didn't qualify for the race.
What do you have against Moranz? Jeez. Some guy said it would be cool if he got to pit on his own bike under the KTM tent, not give him Cooper's bike. Obviously not going to happen, but different than you're implying. I like Starling too, but notice how nobody's talking about him as he has been starting near the back and riding up to where he finishes. Moranz is at least going 110% as long as he can and trying to be better, as he says himself, that's how he believes he can get better. Again, nothing against Starling, he's solid and I am a fan, but take it down a notch on the Moranz hate. Also he's 23 in his second 450 season... Do I see him becoming Brayton or even Peick? No, not really. But he still has room to improve. Good job Kev, Starling, Harlan, Cartwright, and all these guys taking advantage of the cards dealt to them by factory riders mistakes. Continue on...
Also, for the record, they've made the same amount of mains, and in those mains in which they both made, Moranz has finished ahead 7 out of 11 times... soooooo you were saying? Again, no Starling hate, just reporting facts as we get further and further off track from what this thread is about.
I just never understood why people think a factory team should just give away parts and bikes to guys because it’s a “feel good story”. As someone that works in the industry, I don’t want my product on a factory bike if that bike is rolling around in 15th. If you sponsor someone because you like them or that’s where your market is, sure. But to be providing stuff to factory teams, we want it to be worth while as we spend lots of money to sponsor them. Which Is why I think you are starting to see teams not filing in with just random riders (see PC or rockstar this year).
We had a guy say moranz could be a top 5 guy, and a career similar to Brayton’s. If moranz didn’t get good starts, you wouldn’t hear anything about him. He’s done great for himself on his own, and marketing himself to make money. I like his originality, but to give him factory equipment or anything like that, no. Sorry for keeping it real to you people.
I don't disagree with any of that. I didn't advocate for any fill in ride like that though. The post started as good job Kevin after his 7th place finish, and turned into an average Vital thread... Sifting through all that, he's doing great for himself on his own program, which he busts his ass on. If he can step up and be a top 15 guy with a full field next year, then we can talk fill in ride. But nobody owes him or anyone in that group anything, I'll agree on that.
I can say, that at one time, both Rockstar and Redbull required bikes on the track. This late, I’m sure they’re not going to mind.
Come outdoors, I’d bet Rockstar makes them get a rider, because at this point, they’re paying for two 450s sitting on the stand. It’s the biggest reason Deano stayed on the bike last year when he was so sick.
. Redbull will have AP and Barcia, so they’ll be good.
Edit: you could be right, heard today Husky probably won’t have a 450 guy.
Is the KTM semi going to be there next week? Is a mechanic sitting idle? If the answer is yes to both then I was just suggesting KTM park his bike under their tent, film him in practice, help him set his suspension up, and maybe replace a bolt if one falls out. Was not saying to give him bike or parts, just a little support for keeping a KTM in the main.
Ap should be back this week
