My Enzo suspension review. My biggest complaint about the stock set up was the harshness I was feeling in the front end along with occasional head shake at high speed.  I couldn’t ride 3 laps on this bike, let me start with my weight n ability I’m 46 n ride the 40/A class. What Enzo did, they replaced the stock springs with stiffer springs and change the spring seats in the front forks, and the pressure springs to compensate for the larger spring seats. The shock got a stiffer spring and a lowering plate that lowers the rear of the bike a few mm.   My riding conditions are purely whooped out sand tracks, very few jumps, just nasty whooped out sand.    My first lap on the bike n the Enzo work was completely noticeable! Gone was the busyness of the front end, what was so impressive was how well the wheel tracked, the bike felt so plush n stayed flat n straight threw the nasty sand sections!  I’m blown away on how smooth n plush this suspension is! My first Moto I did 7 laps no arm pump n a huge smile on my face! Enzo did an Amazing job with this bike,I think the total for the revalve n springs and everything inside was $1200, that includes shipping from nj to Texas.

How larger spring seats are chancing damping or openings are bigger?

Craig showed me the Enzo spring seats and the stock ones on my kx450 a couple of years ago. The shape was slightly different and the openings were way different, larger holes and placed in a different pattern.

I didn’t get to see the spring seats just the oem ones they took out. I did some more Moto’s yesterday n Im blown away how well the front end tracks on this bike after the revalve! The bike stays level and planted everywhere. I had conevalves on my ktms set up by powerband racing and I would put these oem forks up against them! Enzo did an Amazing job!

Yep, welcome to Yamaha SSS and Enzo. It is the best in the business for blue.

Just got mine this weekend 🥳

After years of riding Honda it’s time to try something else. Just waiting for some good weather here in the Netherlands.

Airfilter system looks fine, just curious how the system is doing by the others? Read an article from MXA where they put the airfilter system in their ‘hate list’. It looks better than the Honda system for me…

Recommend laying the bike on the side when changing out a dirty filter and having a vacuum handy. Also recommend getting Twin Airs due to the foam on the sealing lip being thicker and wider. To me it feels like the filter cage doesn't seal really tight to the air box so probably why MXA recommends using grease. My filter wasn't that dirty and i had the bike laying on the side and even when being careful pulling the dirty filter dirt fell in but with the bike on the side it lays to where you can get the dirt out easily. If the bike is upright it goes down to the TB. Not the best designed air box by any means! Eager to see what Twin Air comes up with?

It's a simple but excellent idea! Thanks man I've been worrying about the air filter. The bike is awesome though.

Are there any radiator cages available on the market for the 2023? I couldn't find any... Also, anyone tried the MotoStuff brake line (2.5mm)? They said the 2022 line fits, but the standard 22 is different (different bending). What are your thoughts, would that fit?

Worksconnection has them. I don’t think the brake lines are the same. I bought a 22 stainless line and the stiffener is different now that it runs behind the plate. Was shorter too. image 16

Good thing u have the rad braces - i had a little tip over in the sand and it pushed the rad that back into the header. Spigit was flattened. Nice PIPE though

Both of my radiators got a little banged up while I waited for the braces to show up. I had to bend some of the tabs straight again. Sides are a little in too. Just part of it.

Keefertesting has podcast about 72 hours on bike.

Short list: He dont have parts numbers for KTM clutch plates that will fit. Hinson has clutch plates and parts. Hinson also have also 9-plate kit that will fit stock. Akra and FMF will smooth out bottom hit and add more upper part but 1200-1700 that is not needed. GET will have ECU settings coming out. Offset 23 is better than stock 22 coming off throttle and 25 could work for offroad riders. Rear shock 1-2mm shorter by adding shim inside will help also. He is using that Brembo mixed front brake. -22 rear chainguide plastic wont fit -23 is different. Wider seat foam will save your bottom.

Cant remember other stuff just wishing these things come in write down format so I could enjoy content while working.

The shortening of the shock or lowering the rear end travel limit is interesting. I wonder if that's to deal with the twitching when letting of the gas ??

been doing it for years on Hondas, all the way back to 09. On another note, just ordered 23.5 clamps from Ride. Should have tomorrow to test this weekend. thanks Kris!

To me more offset and adding shim to shock makes sense in some conditions. I was happy with stock settings(high rear end) and even went to softer fork springs while riding hard pack in Spain couple months. Now back to rough sand tracks in Finland front was dropping too much and went back to harder fork springs with more sag and slower fork rebound. Rough track front end felt busy in sand. Will test shorter shock this weekend and more offset later when I have parts in hand.

I know some made these same mods to current Hondas while riding rough sand tracks, shorter shock and more offset. I guess longer linkage could do same.

KTM SX450f -22 clutch plates should work so I guess also aftermarket friction plates for KTM 450f should work too.

From online manual seems KTM using 2 different thickness metal plates (2x 1mm and 7x 1.4mm)

So I havent get parts yet to confirm but if anyone have KTM plates in hand they could confirm measurements.

79532010033 whole clutch plate kit.

79532011000 just friction plates.

You can currently purchase fibers and plates from Yamaha as well as Hinson. Why would you chose to run KTM parts based off of assumptions that they ‘should’ work?

I got it directly from FMF. Put it on order in December and it finally got released last week.

I noticed the blue map select light was on when I walked past my bike today and thought it seemed odd as no one had been in the garage. It’s dim, but definitely on. I can turn the light on bright and then ‘off’ again by pressing the map select switch, but ‘off’ still shows the dim blue light. I’ve tried starting and stopping the bike a number of times, uploading and changing maps, long pressing both buttons, etc. Nothing I do will turn the blue light completely off.

Anyone else with the mystery dim blue light?

I haven’t washed it in a number of days. I rode last night but I haven’t washed it yet. Not super dirty so hadn’t planned to wash. The light issue seems to have randomly started this afternoon

My solid blue light stays on for a few minutes after I shut the bike off.

Take apart all the electrical connectors and see which one has water in it. Dry it out and put dielectric grease in it before reconnecting.

This one is a mystery that a lot of us would love to be solved.  Which plug could possibly be short-circuiting the light to think the ECU is awake?  Because I doubt water could keep the ECU awake...or am I wrong?

Unlike every bike I've ever owned before, I keep my side plates on while (power) washing, just because of how exposed stuff is on that left side under the number plate.  I have no idea what it's gonna look like under there in a month, or after a single prepped race. I only have like 4 hrs on mine at this point now that the weather is warming up.

I don't like this design... Hoping TwinAir will introduce new airbox powerflow system, like they did in the past, because I won't be buying this one.
