I posted this on the race thread and a couple other posters are experiencing similar symptoms; but is anyone else’s eyes screwed up right now? Since the end of the night, my eyes have been irritated beyond belief and my nose has been running non stop. This is my first experience in a stadium like State Farm and wondering if anyone else has had similar situations and what they did to help relieve the symptoms.
Weird I got a stuffed up head and runny sinus's too. Strange.
Yes. Bigtime. Coughing too. Figured it was the dust.
Wasn't the roof open? Or did they close it for the night show?

Barcia was all jacked up on the post race press conference as well.
Plus the track sucked for racing.
The roof is small and the ventilation sucks. That stadium was built to keep air in. I sat at the bottom one year and had no problems, I sat near the top and was itchy and coughing for a couple of days.
Hope you guys feel better…. Not to be a Karen but after Minny last year and this situation this is a huge risk for Feld and staying in domes. You can’t have people (and especially kids) coming away sick from your events.
Lots of people were complaining about shortness of breath. I hope they get their ventilation issues figured out.
Yea my sons eyes and mine was bloodahot red. We were both stuffed up. My wife wasent feeling good at all and my head is pounding like it’s been in a vice.
the roof was open just alittle. Maybe 10% open
We are but sheep to the Circus. Feld cares 2 shitz about the sheep but to keep the numbers up. Sheep come and go but there is always more sheep. This is Corporate level thinking and the Dollar bill is all they car about.
My wife and I both had bloodshot eyes leaving and sinus issues. Both of us still don’t feel great this morning and for once I can’t blame the dad sodas…
Ya, I had issues last night and still have them this morning. the whole family had isues. I get exercised induced asthma and didn't bring in my rescue inhaler - never needed it before at State Farm Stadium in the past. I had to get security to give me permission to go get it during the races because I couldn't breathe. Once I did, all better. Honestly, I think it was the dust that got to me more the the CO. It was pretty bad. I was talking to a couple guys on a race team and they said it was worse down on the track. Definitely had ventilation issues that they have never had there before.
They had the roof partially open all night, but it wasn't enough. With it being nice outside, they could have just totally opened it and left it open. Wasn't cold out. Temp was perfect in the evening.
Our whole group has the same issues from last night. We’ve attended every race at State Farm Stadium and never had this issue before.
Without going into a long winded technical explanation on an Easter Sunday morning (I'm a chemical engineer with extensive gas phase reaction background), its highly unlikely that it was Carbon monoxide. I wanted to tell you this to put your mind at ease. CO from combustion is produced under extreme temperatures and gases rise with heat from stack effect. Then you generally have warming in the space from people that further results in gases rising - even if the gas is heavier than air. Factor in air movement from HVAC and the CO was likely fairly well exhausted. I'm also certain they monitor CO levels in the stadium because they have other events like Monsterjam that also could cause issues. I'd say it was a combination of dust and particulate matter. Those are heavy enough to settle. I heard it was worse down on the stadium floor. We had dusty crap all over our seats when we got into the stadium. Definitely never had this issue in the stadium years past.
#lymegate2023!😱
My eyes are so effin red this morning, my voice is hoarse, I feel like I got ran over.
I drank at the race, but damn something was going on for sure. My eyes look like they're bleeding.
Yeah I went with 2 buddies and we all have the same symptoms. Red eyes, runny nose, cough, hoarse voice.
Gonna look like Cheech and Chong going thru airport security in a little bit.
Pit Row
Carbon monoxide poisoning… I heard Feld is sending out Jetson donuts to all involved.
Our entire group of seven is experiencing the same symptoms. No way in hell we’re going back next year.
Gotta wonder if this will affect overall attendance in the future…
On tv the air looked kind of hazy inside the stadium.
Yes, my eyes are still itchy and my sinuses are stuffed up.
My whole family feels the same and everyone we know that went after asking has said the same thing.
Also very congested
Yep my eyes are blood shot RED and even today, they BURN AND HURT BAD!
Looks like I've been hanging out with Cheech and Chong all weekend.
Entering the stadium the FUMES hit you hard and the HAZE never went away all night.
Why they didn't open the roof COMPLETELY is beyond dumb.
Sounds like a reaction to lime they may have mixed with the dirt
That sucks. Hope you guys feel better!
Yep 11 people in my group all of us were coughing and eyes burning early on. Made us mad the roof wasn’t opened but a small bit. We are all bloodshot eyes congested today.
Everything I am reading is spot on. We all stopped to get something to eat after the race and noticed everyone's eyes to be extremely red and were all laughing at how ridiculous we all looked. Definitely noticed our lungs to feel like we all smoked a carton of Camel non filters... lol. That was last night.....but this morning......Whoa Nelly....my wife can't even open her eyes they hurt so bad and said her headache was horrendous. Seats were super dusty so it could have been that or the exhaust not being released through slightly opening roof. Why they didn't have roof opened totally was shocking!! In the past it was usually open.
11 of us were there last night and all had the same symptoms. It was brutal. Woke up this morning feeling like hammered dog shit. It’s almost 3 in the afternoon and my eyes look like I was hanging out in Stankdog’s trailer all day.
I sent State Farm Stadium a message about it. It was absolutely unacceptable that they didn’t have proper ventilation or the roof open all the way. They didn’t even open all the doors around the stadium until right before the 250 main, and they were refusing to let anyone out of the stadium to get some fresh air and permit re-entry.
