They are awesome and have been super durable.  Very fun to play around and tons of upgrades available.

Looks pretty sick. Pretty fast, silent so the neighbors dont get mad. Doesn’t really look like a dirtbike so Karens don’t came after you. Pitbike replacement

Ive ridden a few, from stock to one that had every mod you could do to it including full size moto wheels and I thought it was an ill handling turd and would rather ride a 110..

We have a guy that brings one to our track. He rips on that thing.  Looks like a lot of fun,  other than the price tag.

Bought one in November 2022 and I have been having a blast. The light bee is a niche bike that nails this absurdly fun balance between dirtbike and mountain bike. It's going to be a money sink to some degree, I've already had to replace a rotor (bent) and smoked the bushings in my fork, but honestly it is so damn fun I have no regrets.

You can wheelie them forever, do stoppies bunny hop them, rip mtb trails (at least where I live because I've built them all) and do light moto stuff. Ride mine to work every day and occasionally hit a near by turn track I created in the woods on my lunch break.

Honestly so much fun when you need a bit of two wheel therapy but don't have the time to load the dirtbike, gear up, and drive somewhere to ride proper dirtbikes. It's not a replacement, that said I haven't ridden my mtb or dirtbike yet this year. If I am a 5/10 mountain biker and a 6/10 dirtbiker, I am 11/10 confident on the surron. It's a blast.

I don't know the clientele in the US but over her in the UK I only see weasels and spode's riding around on them in their balaclavas.

How big/tall are you? They're more of a 3/4 size bike like a crf230, but if that fits you, I'd definitely get one.

I dig this kid's channel...

Luna Cycle in CA is exclusive US distributor for these. They have thousands of positive comments on their website. Also sell spare parts and upgrades (bigger battery, controllers, etc) for them as well. Drop shipped free to your house & priced under ~$4500 delivered typically. I believe the current 1 is called "midnight edition" or black, etc. 8" travel both ends. Claimed 45MPH top speed when throttle limiter position changed with included instructions.

I've been watching these for quite a while now and plan to buy 1 soon once I clear a place to store it securely. 1 thing I would not do personally (and seeing some reviews) is swap the pedal and drive belt kit + street tires in favor of stock configuration with steel pegs, sprockets, and 428 motorcycle chain + 19" knobbies on there. It seems some states allow it to be street registed if it has pedals, so people configure them that way but seen some comments it is a flaky setup. Also seems to be a little SuperMoto kind of appeal to it too.

1 other thing, these can't be used where other battery assisted E-Bikes can go on MTB trails in forests, state parks, BLM land, etc.

Only 2 potential considerations for me…

Not a Bicycle (it’s a motor vehicle in many jurisdictions).

Not the greatest range (I’m kinda spoiled on this subject. Even my kids Super 73 goes farther than her friend’s Sur-Ron…and no pedals on the Sur when the batteries out)

If you don’t care about the “not being a bike” thing? Well, go for it! I’d shop the segment & see what’s avail from different brands as far as range, power and suspension.

I love these things, I’m currently waiting in the new Enduro II from GasGas.

I rode one, loved it. A ton of fun, and surprisingly fast. Watched a kid win the pit bike challenge at an arenacross race against some awfully fast 110s.

IIRC, the range is claimed ~45 miles. They also sell a bigger battery and have a regenerative battery charge feature when throttle is off that saves charge. I'll mostly be riding on the little VMX track I'm building in my yard to get my 2-wheel seat time without traveling so no range anxiety for me Wink   As for shopping the segment, I haven't seen anything similar offered with 8" travel, 19" wheels and motorcycle 428 chain and sprockets anywhere- got links to share?

have you priced E-assist mountain bikes lately? They start at $5k and hit $10k real fast after that based on components.

The key is being realistic with why you are getting it. Guys spending $10-13K on a toy. Buy a new dirt bike if you're spending that much.

I bought mine as a toy/pit bike. All I did was add taller bars, foot pegs and 52 rear sprocket. Wheelie guys go 54 or 64! LOL

I have a '23 KTM 300 XC, so serious rides are on that...

And also look at the price of a 20" Stacyc. those are a little over 3K. You get so much more from a suron for $1200 ish more. And also compared to EMTB's it also seems like a great deal.  The original style  Sur-ron and Segway are very similar if not the same bikes.  I would love to get one, but I'm 6'9" and between 250 and 320 depending on what I ate for dinner and if I'm busy with work and not  getting out of the shop much. So I worry I'm a bit big for one. When I was in my late teens , I was the same height but just over 200 pounds and was able to have fun on an XR100 and XR 200. So I feel like it might be possible to have fun on one. Hopefully I'll get to try a customers sometime . If you are average sized for a motocross rider/racer, I would say 100% go get one and You'll love it. If you are already thinking of getting one, than chances are you will love it. If anybody close to my size has ridden one, let me know how it is. I've been 6'6" or taller since I was 14 , so I'm used to being stuffed into/onto things that are not the optimal size for me. I'm able to ride a size large MTB.

I keep seeing more and more parts for these bikes come out in catalogs or on parts sites all the time. Warp9 has Ti parts for them. And it seems like more companies are adding stuff all the time. Wheels , pegs, etc.

Other than Segway, I'm not sure who else makes a bike in this class. The Zero motorcycles might be similar , kind of a mix between Electric motorcycle with Downhill MTB chassis.  I have not looked at Zero in a while now though. I remember them being much more $$ . I have seen some more utility style options that might be similar in range and power. But the Sur-ron and Segway are more sport styled so not really the same things.  If anybody knows of other similar electrics like the Sur-ron and Segway  post some links up.

Been looking for a YZ250 that isn't clapped for under $5k and having a hard time. Maybe I should just buy a Surron Huh

I was definitely on the fence before purchasing as they aren't cheap, but I'll be damned if it isn't some of the most fun you can have. And comparing to an emtb of decent quality, it's an absolute bargain. I live in a tiny town with open ponderosa pine forest and I can bang in tracks and trails anywhere at any time and no one even knows I am there unless I'm giggling like an idiot (usually the case).

Just enjoy it for what it is, a glorified mtb with a motor and larger wheels.  When guys buy these things thinking they’re going to be a motocross bike and put 21/18 wheel sets on them it just ruins what they were meant to be, a fun balance between MTB and Moto.  In stock form they’re light, simple, and plenty fast enough to have fun on around town or on some basic turn tracks without being a nuisance to neighbors.  I have a few turn tracks cut in around town in some empty fields and they’re a ton of fun, just be respectful around people and if you’re riding on bike paths and you’ll be good to go.
