No offense, but this just is not a good question. Who cares what someone else paid and most will lie to you anyway to make themselves look better?
Call multiple dealers as far as you are willing to drive, talk to the sales manager and offer a credit card deposit especially if they have a bike in stock. BEFORE doing that, come up with a total price you are willing to pay, but let them tell you the best price first. Make sure the price includes all set up, delivery etc other than tax. The reason to leave tax off is if you are potentially calling dealers in another state so you have clean comparisons.
Help me understand whats soooo bad about price transparency?
Before you bust out the pitchforks and torches; I've bought my last 6-7 bikes from the same dealer, Berkeley Honda.
Scott is a no BS guy and doesn't play the infuriating pricing games (i.e. Additional Dealer Markup) that lead to people commiserating on forums about pricing. When I picked up my 2023 CRF250R 2 weeks ago, he had a few Husky's on the floor.

Nothing at all is wrong with it and you just described why calling multiple dealerships and/or having a relationship with one is the way to do it…not ask people on a forum what they paid.
This is a reasonable request by someone trying to figure out where the market is. Simple and smart to do.
My customers do this sort of thing all the time. And they should to make sure my price to them is inline with the market.
I paid $10 k for a monster edition
I called dozens of dealers in Ohio, pa, and wv. Anywhere from 11,400 to 12,500 after tax.. Some of them are dealers I've dealt with for years and years. Two other Ohio guys just paid around 11,700. Some dealers are still clueless as to when they'll even get one. I got lucky and fell into one of the first ones in Ohio for 11,498.
Only way you're getting one for less is if you can avoid taxes and really really know the dealer. Rockets the cheapest I've heard of and if he elaborates i bet it's a case of what I just mentioned.
Its going to trickle to the used market too. MSRP doesn't mean crap today. What people are paying will dictate the lightly used market.
Couple opinionated turds on here gave me shit for listing mine for what I paid for it. (Thought mods watched for that, but when a mod decided to add to it I realized it was case by case based on opinion). I just deleted it because I don't really care if I don't sell it lol.. If someone can't find one, and needs or wants one, i'd sell mine. Not to make money, but I'm not losing a ton either. I bought it for Daytona, put a few hours on it, and now I'd sell because I don't have time to ride for a bit because of work. You'll see this happen more often with new gen bikes.
$14,000 otd in Carson City Nevada lmao. “We are only getting one this year”.
Power Motorsports in Oregon was doing MSRP plus tax out the door a month ago.
I paid $9717.60 out the door (after tax and title) for my '23 YZ250FX from Delmarva Powersports. They have a 23 YZ450 listed for $9899 there, it would be roughly $10,899 out the door there for me as a MD resident.
You are right to ask others what they paid. Dealers are trying to charge every fee known to man since 2020.
Related, I have seen two different people list brand new, never started 2023 YZ450Fs on facebook near me. Obviously trying to make a profit on them, you can tell these people don't ride/race seriously. People know these bikes are hard to get rn so they are paying the ridiculous dealer price then listing them for sale for $1000 more its ridiculous.
I’d bet th larger dealer in the Houston area that had one on the show room floor wouldn’t be far behind that price. 14k comes out to 5k give or take above MSRP if I had to guess. Even though it wouldn’t change my life style one bit to pay that much, I’d peck shit with the chickens before I pay that.
$11750 in CA Chastwort for the Monster energy racing edition
Pricing is very dependent on the part of the country you're in.
I figured I would ask and I know people can bullshit or be truthful. I'm trying get a reasonable number as I will be buying one. I haven't bought a new bike for years. I have always bought used two stroke bikes for years and do all my own repairs so I don't have any dealer relationships. One dealer near my work has proudly displayed dealer mark ups on every single bike. The mark ups are $1200-$2400. I hate this dealer BTW.
I'm willing to drive out state for a reasonable deal.
Thanks for the responses
While I used to agree with that, I dont think it's the case any longer..
In todays market, i would never ever pay over MSRP for a bike. No matter where i live.
You wouldn't have a new bike.
Pit Row
He might be able to do it with a kaw or rmz. 24 kaw will shoot right back up over MSRP tho.
I was a Yamaha dealer for 11 years-now Honda and GasGas. Supply and demand set the price, always have, always will.
If a dealer has 20 people wanting to buy the one bike he can get, most dealers will mark up the price, thinking one or 2 of these guys will pay it. You guys who call around for the lowest price also want your local dealer to stock anything and everything you want in stock, and a a cheaper price than on the internet.
Yamaha's MSRP, just like all the other manufacturer's has a base MSRP, a destination charge of $450, and a freight surcharge of $275. The dealer pays these charges on top of their invoice. Dealers have to build the bikes-Yamaha's come with 30 day warranty, and per the Yamaha dealer agreement, a trained, and certified tech is to build it and go over Yamaha's multi point inspection.
In Texas (8.43% total tax) If you bought a 2023 Monster Edition YZ450F and paid no fees of any kind, the total with tax and title is $11769. If you had 20 buyers each month that one this, and you have only one, and you can't get more of this model, would you sell your only YZ450 for less? Most dealers are still inflating the charges because they can only get around half the bikes they used to sell pre Covid 19.
Dealers are a for profit business. When I get calls from guys calling all over, I ask them where they live. The closer to me, the more I will listen and consider a discount from our normal price. Dealers need local buyers, not a guy who drives 200 miles, one time, and never comes back for oil, filters, grips, or to get a tire installed.
I get to explain this many times, every day. Most of the time I get great customers out of it. Traveling does cost time and money also.
Just a dealer's side of the daily battle.
You sure? Power Motorsports love to add dealer markups (that's why I now take my money elsewhere). And there is no sales tax in Oregon.

Someone charges tax when you finance and live out of state, the bank or the dealer idk. If cash, you don’t pay tax if in or out state. I wasn’t detailed enough, my apologies.
When I contacted them they gave me the best otd prices by far compared to NorCal or Nevada. I’ve seen prices like this in the Midwest tho. I asked Power about a bunch of different bikes. They were all basically the cheapest price you see on their website, plus tax if you finance. If no finance than you paid the price you see on their inventory page, no added markup.
They advertise all this on Keefer’s podcast.
I paid $10,574 otd for a monster edition, out of state no sales tax. Cash so no financing games. They had a blue one that the guy backed out of too but it sold instantly.
If anyone is looking for one in/near Illinois, I post them up on my IG page when I see them. Posted up one today at world of Powersports. There’s a few out there, but not many.
Someone buy mine before I said my suspension to enzo. Lol
