Me too. I was thinking that looked really bad, but tucking like that may have saved him from shoulder/arm/neck injuries. Landing like that with your chin tucked is supposedly what you are supposed to do if you are going to hit the ground that way. Fedor getting suplexed by Kevin randleman comes to mind

After that I have no doubt he’ll make it happen and get a win, he had the speed all night long and there was no luck involved getting that position, he straight up ripped a start and built a gap.  He’ll do it and it’s going to be epic when he does.

Man I was so excited he was going to get his first win then on the broadcast I heard to crowd moan and my first thought was “ NO, can’t be him “ and sure enough it happened. Even though a win didn’t happen tonight hopefully it is just a step towards that first win for him. I hope it happens real soon.

I was looking forward to how he was going to top this celebration:

When he went down ( I heard the crowd first , I knew something happened) I said " Oh no!! "......then they showed AP running back to his bike and I yelled " F$%@!!! ".  My heart got ripped out for the guy. He has that in the bag!!  Keep the spirits up.....he will win one of these!!

I think it's the RC Jinx.   Every time he's talking about someone doing really well, it goes to shit.

Motorsport in its pure form, anything can happen even in the last percentage of the race and it can be very cruel.

So gutted for AP, he absolutely had that one in the bag. I don’t know if it’ll be indoors or out, but he will get a win this year.

For AP7 to give an interview after that finish just tells you the character of the guy. Most riders would be straight back to the truck. Seeing that emotion from him nearly had me in tears. Gutted for him, but he’ll be back. The way he’s riding at the minute he’ll defo have another shot. Keep er pinned AP.

I can't remember ever being so gutted for someone losing a race. That was hard to watch. Shouldn't affect his confidence though. He now knows he can win. He had all the guys right behind him and slowly pulled away

I don't think I have wanted someone to win so bad since guy cooper almost had one at atlanta in '89.

I am glad he didn't appear to be hurt physically because that was a nasty get off.

Now I want him to win seattle next week......... and sell the movie rights for 7 figures,.........and play himself in the movie like audie freaking murphy

Audrey Murphy? Never heard of her.

What a ride! Been waiting for that win since he moved up. Hopefully he grabs one this season.

He must be heart broken but on the flipside he can certainly take pride in how he otherwise rode. Ride like that, in those positions, and the wins will come.

His first win will be as popular as Dale Sr. winning the 1998 Daytona 500. Stamp it!

AP is such an awesome dude - definitely one of my favorite riders. Absolutely ripping last night and was clearly the best guy.

I’m just glad he wasn’t badly hurt. That looked really close to being seriously bad - tough as nails! Hope he can get a win in Seattle!

It’s been a long time since I was this bummed out about a rider now winning. AP7 has been killing it and last night he checked out from the best. I hope this season has made him realize he is a front runner and deserves to be up there with everyone else. Hope he can get his starts dialed so we see him up front more. Hard to not be a fan of his.

I hope we get more of this riding from him. The win is just a tally on his statistics, he obviously has the speed to run with the best. Sad outcome, but the guy is a good example for any of the young kids coming up. Great job AP.

He rode so awesome, I was so bummed for him. That interview after the race just shows how hard he's trying and how much that win will mean to him. I'll be cheering him on when that 1st one comes.

That’s what I was saying as soon as RC started talking about wanting to interview him.  I was yelling at my TV, STFU RC!!….and sure enough- He’s always throwing the whoopee cat at guys in the lead. Totally irresponsible broadcasting

I don't know about irresponsible broadcast, but when RC said his victory interview is going to be entertaining I was thinking its under two laps its gunna happen right? right?  That one hurt.  But that was a very classy interview, he didnt have to do it, but the dude is solid and I think he was doing it for the fans so they knew he was down but not out.  He is gunna get one...... or two by the end of the season and they will be soooo sweet!  Man I got respect for him!  Go AP7 !!!!!!!

AP's first couple passes through the whoops made this jaded old vet rider's jaw drop!

Will not be surprised to see him come back firing, especially if 1, 2 and 23 go into points-protect mode.
