Definitely looked like he was dealing with arm pump at the end of that race.

That looks right but did it also happen in the heat race? He looked ok for about three laps and then decided to ride the whoops like a B-class guy. True that if you are fighting the bike you can get arm pump and he has a history of that.

Still, an 'off race' should be 4th or 5th for him. He either quit trying or could not hold on anymore. Would love to hear what he said when he got back to the truck but we will never know what really is going on.

The old Eli is back (really good or really bad) and that should not surprise us. He had one year on the YZ where he looked like a different person.

Looked like there was something not right, or perhaps more than one thing. It didn’t look good in the qualifiers. It seemed like his bike wasn’t right, especially in the woops. That is unusual.

The arm pump thing kinda makes sense. But as we all know , Eli is one of the most fit guys out there , so something on bike setup must of been the culprit? They have been dialed in since A1 , so I don't get how they could be that far off on setup? Either way.....yeah , something wasn't working last night. I just hope he isn't injured.

The 250’s really struggled with the woops unpredictability. The 450’s did a little better through them but everyone put it on defense mode to survive for points. Barcia seemed to find a good line on the right side .

He didn't look comfortable in either qualifying session to me and I saw the forks off the bike afterwards in the pits. I think they were searching quite a bit for settings and he wasn't willing to push on that track.

Eli did this at Tampa as well and a couple of the motos in the triple crown races. He is either on or off this year it seems. The troubling part seems to be that he stops trying though. These 'bad' races will cost him the title because they are 'too' bad.

Webb is not quitting even when he is not feeling it.

He has said it a 100 times. If he doesn’t “feel” it , he will not push and risk it. Champions ride last night. Titles are the long game. Cracks me up when people bash. It’s an 18 rd series.

You sure love to throw out the insults at people don't you.         A  "outdated' non-factory team Suzuki just won a supercross race.

It ain't the bike, it's who is on it.       Throw Tomac on that zook with a few months practice and he'd be where he is today.

As for this thread.

Tomac is a god one weekend and everyone turns on him the next because he went into protect mode.     Pushing it....he maybe ends up like Sexton in this race.    Getting lapped or worse.

I’m fairly certain something was wrong with Tomac’s bike. I was several rows up near the holeshot line and everytime he hit a jump in those two rhythm sections before the whoops, his bike made an absurdly loud squeaking noise. Like I shouldn’t be able to hear Tomac’s bike squeaking from the second rhythm lane over while 450’s are blasting by right in front of me. Based on how he looked in the whoops I wouldn’t be surprised if something was wrong with his shock or linkage.

A rare Elito Mac sighting...  Like Kawi did a couple years back, Yamaha is going to have to catch Elito Mac in the porta potty and lock the door before the main...  Then Eli can come out and get it done.

To me, it started after his big crash a few weeks ago. He was literally going Mach 10 around Webb, on the outside of a rhythm lane… Now he’s being passed by Craig on the last lap. Even last weekend, normally he would gap the field at Daytona, he barely beat Webb on a track where Webb usually struggles l. He may or may not have an injury, but I think that crash just spooked him. Hopefully he will gather it back up sooner than later.

Was the same thing wrong with his bike in the heat race? He did the same thing in the whoops.

8th place, looking back many times and simply letting people pass him that he can normally lap or almost lap is not a champion's ride. But I do get your point. Coker is learning now what Kawi had to try and manage.

Huh?  Webb struggles at Daytona?    I think you have him confused with someone else.

I agree 100%! That crash on the tuff blocks is in his head. And I fully understand why that is so. Happens to all racers. (Webb is great at Daytona though)

I agree 100 percent with this statement as he was next level on any condition before that big get off!! Hope he can regain that as it was fun to watch!!

You need to watch Daytona 22. They battled until the end!

dude is an all-timer and it will never be disputed...but he's also an absolute head case. If he's not "feeling it" he literally barely shows up for the race and rolls around in 9th. It's the strangest damn thing. When he's ON...nobody can touch him. He must know this, so for him to yawn and roll the whoops is just absolutely mind-boggling. He's got his millions and his trophies...but he'll also forever have to talk about "Where the F do you go in your brain when you get passed by Craig??"

I know ppl are saying how soft it was and he was being safe buy what about that race in 20 that was same with him and Webb when they went at it and lapped up to like 3rd place

Sounds like maybe a bent rotor? That could explain a lot if it was.

He was not feeling it in practice but that can be common. In the heat you knew there where issues.

If he would of got a start in the main who knows? It's Tomac. The worst part was I had CC for my wildcard and thought it was a lock lol.

You guys are right! The Webb comment may have been off, but I’ll stick to my word about the crash a few weeks ago. He was on like no other until that moment. So yea, he isn’t lying, he’s not comfortable. I’m just thinking HE isn’t comfortable mentally at the moment. I could be wrong and probably am, but I think the bike is fine.

Webb went into protect mode towards the end as well.

Tomac will be back next week.

So will Barcia.......and Kenny, and Sexton, and Webb, AC, Anderson and Plessinger.....CANT WAIT!

I think that noise was Roczen's arms

Huge Tomac fan. He's an absolute legend, but his tendency of essentially "giving up" when he's uncomfortable is one thing that other guys with his career success never seemed to do. If Ricky was having a horrible day, he would come in 3rd or 4th (save his early seasons). A horrible round for Dungey was a 6th. From 2011-2014, if Villopoto didn't crash (which for the most part he avoided), he was going to be on the box regardless.

Tomac seemed to be totally dialed and avoided the really bad days last season, but rides like last night are just so frustrating to watch and I don't remember any of the other greats putting in rides like that unless they were injured.

Not saying he isn't a great, I believe if he wins this title he's earned a spot on the American MX/SX Mt. Rushmore.

Agree, it's pretty mindboggling for the 3rd winningest SX rider of all time.

These types of rides are far more common for him than any other rider even near him on the all time wins list. By those standards, it truly is bizarre. He will probably come out next week and be 2 seconds faster than everyone. Just how it seems to be. I can’t really explain it. I doubt anyone can.

Who are your 4 on there now and who are you removing to put him on?

It is funny that these conversations had totally stopped about Tomac's weird rides since he went to Yamaha...until Tampa. He is truly one of the greatest ever but also one of the most puzzling. It was actually sad to see him ride like that Saturday.
