...but you are right, kids need to be socialized. Homeschooling parents would need to make sure their kids are involved with activities with other kids. Perhaps homeschoolers in close proximity can arrange informal "classes". Logistics of that could be interesting/problematic given how people are these days.
One things for sure....I sure as hell am glad I grew up when I did and that I don't have school age kids right now.
There's a direct correlation if the parents are well educated the kids are more likely to be well educated. One of the negatives of home schooling is there are a large number of folks that just don't start out smarter than the kids, that's a problem. I can also say, there are a large number of teachers that are shit at their job also.
There is no cookie cutter answer. Every situation is different. I know well educated, socialized kids from public schooling, home schooling, catholic private schooling, and hybrid schooling.
I also know shit kids from all the above.

Hey APL..... In our neighboring HS , they literally have a litter box in the girls bathroom. Because two kids there pretend they are cats. I know kids that go to that school. They call them " Furbies".....a person who identify as animals. That weird shit ( along with all the other weird freaky shit , comes from your side of the fence ). That same school also fired some green haired weirdo last year , for pushing weird books on to kids , all having to do with the alphabet rainbow crowd.

Couple public school stories. Not hearsay this was us.
First story. Son comes home and say's the class has some special field trip to somewhere I forget where. In order to go he needs to sell "X" amount of magazine subscriptions. So of course he was walking around the neighborhood pushing magazine sales all worried because none of the neighbors wanted any more magazine subscriptions. So me being the asshole I am went down to the school and asked how it works. How do the magazine companies get his school to turn all the students into a little army of magazine subscription salesman ? They said the school got a small amount of money for each subscription, it was a tiny amount, . So I made them an offer. "I'm a local business owner trying to build up my client list, lets have the whole student body turn into my sales force, for every new customer I pick up I'll give the school the first 2 months of service (around $ 100 bucks a month at the time so $200 per signed customer) Sorry it doesn't work that way Mr. sumdood. Alright well if he doesn't sell anything how much to go on the trip ? I wound up buying 3 or 4 magazine subscriptions to magazines I couldn't give a shit about reading. Not a huge deal but still seemed fucked up at the time. "Go sell or don"t go"
2nd Story. This one involved our young pre-period aged daughter and my wife. My wife is half Irish and half Irish by the way and takes zero bullshit
She comes home from school one day with some tampons and says the coach(female) was throwing them out to all the girls in gym class. Saying something to the effect of "if you start bleeding use these" She fucking flipped out and started heading for the car. I figured I'd better tag along just to watch. So we go find the gym teacher and holy crap my wife tore her 3 new ones. From she's 3 years away from having a period anyway to why is that their concern to a 5 minute speech about toxic shock syndrome to finally ending with "WE TOLD HER NOTHING GOES IN THERE !!!" at full volume. When the time comes she'll use pads and on and on. It was pretty funny actually, the coach and principle just stood there like a deer in the headlights.
Then there was something along the lines of if a girl got pregnant the school would help her with an abortion without the parents knowing about it ? Don't remember the exact details on that one so don't quote me but they were waay overstepping in our opinion.
And it's gotten worse since then.

My kids are homeschooled because of CRT, libtard control of the school board (which we are working towards fixing), the mask bs, books basically explaining sex to 1st graders (I don't know the name but it involves seahorses), and so on. They are all in sports of their choice like moto, wrestling, gymnastics. They can participate in school sports still. Home schooling is common to the point where they go to 2 homeschool group meetings twice a week. As a family we have a lot more freedom. In 2 hours they can be done for the day, otherwise just the bus ride is 1 hour one way. The school systems in PA are fucking garbage. Half the adults in the school system are garbage, and so are half the parents. Back in my day homeschool kids were usually the over sheltered kids with no clue what the real world was like, but that's not the usual case anymore.
Well , APL will be a long shortly to tell you , that you're imagining things and that you are a conspiracy theorist for even thinking this way. Never mind that actual real kids , in real schools know bullshit when they see it.
In my day , we would take that stupid Furrie kid and Jam their face into the litter box, and not feel bad about it. We would of taken the cartoon sex books and given them to our parents , and then let the law take it from there. I don't blame anyone for taking their kids out of certain schools now days. Especially inner city / bigger schools. They are nothing but trash.
Not part of the school, but proof of some f-ed up shit in Erie, Pennsylvania. Even tho my kids are homeschooled, I still put efforts in for the kids who are forced to go into these alphabet soup factorys. A lot of parents I know want to homeschool, but can't afford to live on one income.
Yeah that's another , of many , many weird types of bullshit being thrown at these kids. Hell , you can look up on YouTube about the drag queen dance shows in grade school. Or the videos of them literally strapping on dildos and performing " acts " in front on kids.
And yet....there are still people in HERE.....that will vote for their leaders , that support this shit! Like I said before.....it all comes from ONE side!!
