Supercross only deal and he's done.
Pretty prestigious ride he's holding onto if you ask me.
How does this play out next season?

I mean, I really do need help at work, I bet he would be a decent equipment operator.
But I really hope Marv can make enough rounds to qualify for SMX, probably unlikely at this point though. Just hope he gets a proper send off.
Where is home for Marvin and Matilde after its all said and done?
USA or France?
The bummer part of this year is he was looking very solid at Straight Rythym. Then again, Kenny was too so who knows.
I would and you could probably get him at a good price with an incentive based contract. If Gasgas ever plans to add another 450 he would be perfect. Honda would be another great fit, I think he would do significantly better than Colt has so far. But we will see, this off-season is going to be pretty crazy with the 450 talent that will be available. Plus what if Eli races another year? Does Webb still want to go to Star? What if Webb wins the title? Does KTM let him walk for Sexton or try to keep both? Where would that leave AP? Likewise what if Sexton wins the Sx title and even the Mx title? How does Honda play that? Let the guy who is still young leave and bank you teams near future on an unproven 450 rookie? Going to be pretty interesting to see how the cards fall.

Pretty spot on with your post. This off season should be very interesting with all the talent out there ready to be signed. It kind of reminds me of when the groomed talent caught up with the UFC. As more and more fighters were seeking professional training and pretty much were raised in the sport the task of being the top dog became harder to get to and even harder to stay there.
With all of the Future kids that are being trained and schooled at track facilities now the older pros will need to step up their game imo to stay relevant in the near future.
It's obvious.
Marvin will get fat pay and race WSX and maybe Feld SX rather than grind himself down Outdoors or the experimental SMX trifecta.
If he races SX next year, it will be on a KTM, either heavily incentive based or on the cheap. Besides being a great racer/rider, Marvin is a big part of the global marketing for The KTM brand.
Kenny has been looking pretty solid during sx as well. Podium, heat race win, I’d say that qualifies
Thanks, but no, thanks.
The dude is really good. So why would you not hire him? A team like aeo would be a good fit. Ktm I would bet would still fully back him with support I’m sure, aeo has a good 450 rider now, go out and have some fun in the last year or two.
Why wouldn’t you? Who are you going to hire instead, Deano? If his heart is into racing he will be a consistent top ten guy with top 5 and podium potential, heck he won just last year
Dont think i would hire him. Not sure he has that many more 450sx podiums left. He is going to be battling with savatgy, craig, and cole, and will get bumped down a few more spots next year when other 250sx riders like jet move up.
He could go race mxgp and wsx and make some pretty good bank. I could see him being a consistent front runner, which with herlings history, marv could maybe pick up a 450mx title.
Marvin has virtually no downside and puts in a great effort. As long as he wants to race and is relatively healthy, he should be able to find a good ride. His biggest weakness is the way he can get top 5s and not get as much press coverage as the drama queen guys.
I think there is more risk of those "future" stars getting burned out than making that big of a splash next year.
(By big splash I mean winning their rookie year, like rc, js, rv)
You might be on to something if those "older pros" hadn't stepped up their training programs to a higher intensity than what the ams are doing.
It takes some experience and maturity to focus on weaknesses like et3 has done with starts and cw2 has done with whoops.
Hows the feet today?
That's pretty spot on, IMO. He & Mathilde have been great at representing KTM for the last 12-years...and are two of the nicest people in the pits. I don't know if KTM will let him go but I doubt he'll have any problem getting on a good team if he wants to keep racing a few more years here in the States. And...it wouldn't shock me if Marvin & family relocate back to France and he rides some MXGP's either.
Does he have a CDL, tanker endorsement, and have experience with paper logbooks and 18 speed transmissions? Can he read a paper map? If so, have him send me a pm.
If you are business oriented, Sexton is younger, faster and marketable and can win both outdoors and indoors. KTM would be smart to obtain a rider who can win both MX and SX. If they stay with their current rider they are limiting themselves. Marvin can go to a satellite team and do well with Supercross only or WSX. Honda would be smart to hire AP as their second rider. He can win indoors and out and is marketable. If Star wants to run only two riders after Eli retires, Justin Cooper and Ferrandis can win both indoors and out and they have a boat of talent to choose from who are young and hungry. If there is Supercross only team with factory support maybe Webb goes there.
Pit Row
Yes… if I’m Suzuki, Tedder or Firepower.
I would say its all up to marvin. He probably has built a nice nest egg by now and he can do whatever he wants as he is still better then most. Or maybe he will sail off into the sunset. But its all up to him.
One of the most consistent winners the sport has ever seen? Yeah, I would take a gamble on that.
Start a french restaurant in So Cal, make copious amount of cash.
only if i have to in order to get Matilde for crew chief
Let him race WSX & let him use his KTM, NA team bike and mechanic
Get Marv on the GasGas, he’s not done yet!!
Absolutely would hire Marvin, even if it was for a farewell tour. Would attract so many people to the truck.
What a great idea, as stated above, he could race the WSX for KTM.
Then stay in OZ for the SX season.🙂
Marvin gave KTM their only win in sx and outdoor win last year in the US on an un rideable bike.
And this year he finished 12th at A1,injured himself before round 2,is 33,and won't return for the rest of the season.
He would be a great pickup by either Triumph or Beta.
