I don't know if it's over the line because it's so ridiculous that it leaves me lost for words

The internet has no line, therefor it’s impossible to cross.

It’s not really over the line, but, ad hominem attacks make people look unintelligent…that is, personally attacking somebody, and not addressing the subject at hand. I have often observed this to be a vital member go-to tactic.

It is funny to me how so many people with such a common interest and passion for the sport come here and bicker like little school girls over the simplest shit. Getting in spats over which kind of engine propels the bike and arguments about which rider is better than the other. When the rider doesn’t even know or care who the hell they are. It’s pretty pathetic LOL

As for what the dude typed. Who cares. Definitely a shitty thing to type considering what happened to all those people. But it’s the internet and people are brave as hell in the safety of the net.

You go out to the actual track and walk around meeting people and bench racing and you literally never hear any spats especially about the shit people fight about on here. 9.9 times out of 10 the people talking shit on here to everyone are probably quiet as fuck at the track haha

As I got older , I started to realize that words I read on an MX forum should never offend me or ruin my day. Sure , dudes say things that cross the line , and do it mainly just to troll people.  Those are the ones you ignore for the most part. Your pissed off reply is exactly what they were looking for. I fell for it , for many years myself.....but it's up to you to either get mad , get offended or just laugh about it. In the end , the universe always corrects itself.  Don't sweat the small stuff.

The guy made a reference to the holocaust, which is probably not the best reference and I think would be frowned upon by most, but I don't view it as an attack on Jewish people or the holocaust, which I think is what you're trying to imply with your post.

Honestly, the cancel/woke culture bugs me way more than his distasteful reference. People using straw man arguments to ruin another person's reputation and ultimately getting some sort of satisfaction out of creating and watching the mob attack that person.

I was part of a prominent drag racing forum where the rules stated no posts could be deleted (by the user or moderators) unless court ordered.

The forum users policed the forum themselves. If someone crossed the line they would run them out of there.

It was the best forum I've ever been apart of.

People are just too soft these days.

There is no agreed upon line. One has to have their own line.

I think if that post offends you, you need thicker skin and would’ve never lasted here 10 years ago.

Yup! I can not believe the level of “sensitivity” around here…and from supposedly grown men that ride.

There it is: End of Thread

Holy shit.....you have got to be kidding me.   OP carrying around the mental anguish "inflicted" on him for weeks now......that is truly beyond pathetic.   I can't imagine making oneself look any worse....especially on this board.

...and reported me twice.         Nothing mentioned about how OP follows me around and trolls me in multiple threads...to which I ignore and don't respond.      OP is perfect example of someone who can stir up shit, but can't take it.

Look, I can be pretty opinionated.  That offends some people, I get it.   Agree with me or don't,  I don't give a shit.   This board doesn't lack for strong opinions....thick skin is a prerequisite.

Now, to the meat of it:   The holocaust reference was symbolism used to demonstrate how people are initially duped then led into their demise.   The "demise" here being our sport.

Like I said in the original said....just to clear the air on where I stand on the Holocaust.

"We (wife and I)  toured Dachau in 2019....it's a sobering experience.  All that history you've only read about....but to see it in person brings tears to your eyes.          Absolutely chilling how humans can turn on each other over "labels".

One final note: Michael/Admins/mods.....my apologies that you have to deal with this kind of childish drivel.

You should be more sensitive to the feelings of others and we aware of how the modern world requires you handle all communications with an eye towards equity.

Or some such shit. Laughing

I don’t come to the Moto section for a history lesson on the holocaust.
Why did you report the post twice? Did it break the rules?
There is no subject than cannot be discussed or referenced. Maybe a public forum is not the right space for you.

Are you new here? This is not even close to the most offensive response I’ve ever seen.

Stay out of Non-Moto, or you’ll leave in tears.

Had a great reply for this.

But I backed it up and decided not to.

Wouldn't want to be accused of crossing over the line.

Magoofan can't afford the $8 to have someone dispose of his tire and after showing up to SD SX found out he didn't have enough funds to get in. If someone had bought him a ticket he'd have starved because he had also complained he couldn't afford a beer or hotdog. Try to have a little compassion for a guy down on his luck

That's a fair explanation - and I don't think any reasonable person would think you a bigot based on your original statement. For me, the problem is that while the analogy is almost certainly intended as hyperbole, the matter of electric bikes is so harmless in relation to the severity of the holocaust that the analogy is stretched beyond hyperbole into the absurd. This isn't necessarily offensive on its own, but I've seen way too many such references on social media. Just too damn many people trotting out the Nazi comparisons every time they feel threatened,

I'll add that I'm likely not the only person amused by the irony of using a childish insult to call someone a baby
