Just watched the Craig family vlog

So he left the wife and kids at home this week and had his best finish of the year.  Coincidence, or more distraction free time to communicate with his team and improve the bike throughout the day?

Do you bring your family with you to work?

I never even gave this a thought until you brought it up.

I do not bring my family to work with me.

I thought the whole point of having a job was to get time away from your wife, no?

Everytime the topic of a guy bringing his wife, girlfriend, or family to their job and adding another distraction to deal with instead of the task at hand. I think of a quote from the Confucius of mma Nick Diaz. He was once asked why his girlfriend was never at his fights? He simply responded with

"When a ninja is sitting in a fucking tree waiting to kill some shit, he doesn't have his girlfriend there."

No need for a long drawn out answer. The wise Nick Diaz summed it up in 20 words.

He also won a 250 title when his wife was around him all the time. I think he is just improving and is mentally believing in himself more and more. Looking at the podcast with Gypsy tales, you could tell he was a bit overwhelmed the first few races. I know he gets a lot of slack for riding a 250 so long, but if you look at it objectively you can tell he is a good dad and husband, and he took lessons from his early life to make sure his kids will be raised in a different environment. I'm rooting for the guy

I think having his kids and wife with him at all times HAS to be a distraction. Husky isn't paying him to use the team semi as a daycare or have him and the team employees losing focus of the job they're paid to do with kids running amuck and cameras everywhere. I'm sure Husky doesn't care about the satisfaction his wife gets from the likes their vlogs get. I feel for Christian because I'd want to keep Paige happy too 😂. But he's 31 and needs to make these next 2 years count. You don't see the top guys families and kids running around the pits shooting videos for Instagram. Just sayin...

Yeah i get what you're saying but so far he did this since his first kid was born and it seems like every team has no issues with it?

Just because one permits something does not indicate they are OK with it.

This is all speculation, how do we know there isn't a daycare clause in his Husqvarna contract? 🤣 I'm also wondering how long until there's an emotional Instagram post in reference to this thread like last time...

Seriously though everyone is different and one result could be anything. For all we know, Craig is more comfortable, more chilled and more concentrated by the time the gate drops if his family is around and supporting him, maybe it helps his game?

I totally get the other side, for a lot of people, probably the majority, it would just be a distraction or something else to pull focus or have to worry about. But different strokes for different folks.

None of us really know how lucrative Craig’s “influencer family” side hustle is. But it’s making them money and will last longer than his pro career. Craig would be unrealistic to think that he could even win a big bike title. So if his choices are A bring family, post vids, get GAP modeling gigs and social media revenue while running top 10, or B leave the wife and kids home, lose those revenue streams and maybe get a few top 5s and podiums, I’d say he’s made a good choice. He’s gotta feed all them kids, after all.

Do you bring your family with you to work?

Immediately after the race win Saturday night, I saw Eli’s wife and kid with him.

Last week, I saw Cooper’s wife and kid in the same spot.

Ferrandis has his wife at every race. Mathilde is always with Marv. Mrs22 same thing.

As soon as he leaves moto, he'll have a show on, lifetime, or the oprah channel.

Or they'll do a remake of the Walton's.

I know it is their 'Job', but we've heard many many times pros say "I dont want racing to feel like a job, I want that fun & passion for it to come back" ?

If having his family around keeps it a passion & less like a job, then it sounds good to me.

One more thing.... We are all aware Craig isn't going to win or podium... so why did Husqvarna hire him??
ANSWER: To make their product look good in the eyes of potential buyers! And by having his vlog with hundreds of thousands of fans tuning in ticks that box.

I hear ya but it's a different story when your winning or your wife's Dad owns the team.

LOL this is exactly what I was thinking, literally any racer that has a family has them there at the podium or at the end of the race. Paige has been around the pits for a long time with Christian and her dad owned Geico Honda, she knows how to stay out of the way and when to let him be.

You guys act like these racers are driving to work and racing for the night and going back home. They travel Thursday-Monday so theyd be away from their family for that long usually on top of testing/training all week.

+ anderson and barcia on the broadcast alone. Both with their families. I'm sure the only reason families dont come is over some circumstance.

Plus, women love to travel and drink starbucks in new locations, why would they miss out on that?

RC never brought his wife to a race, of course he banged every groupie along the way, but still, never did.

Barcia and DB had a conversation about this on the Breakdown.

Barcia said it was an anomaly that his wife wasn’t with him this weekend…first one his wife and son missed this year.

My take is the "job" happens Monday thru Friday when they're working out training, cycling, testing, putting in hundreds of laps at the test track, etc. and Saturday is when they "perform" so the family is coming to see the culmination of all the work. I don't have a problem with it, as they won't be able to do this as a family once the kids get older and start school, so this lets the riders have somewhat of a family life despite being a part of the traveling circus.

I agree it seems they can't function without that security blanket, it's a job and very strange he brings his wife and kids to the practice track at times. I think maybe his wife is insecure and needs the constant attention?

I imagine the allure of his vlog was a factor in Husky hiring him, I doubt they care his wife and rugrats are running around filming. Free advertising.

Anyone remember when Les Craig chased Joanna out of the pits calling her a few not so favorable names saying they were there to work and not be Fing around playing kissy face?

I always heard she made the rounds before him. I honestly can't understand why these guys marry broads who have F'ed guys on both sides of you on the line. Imagine going to work and every guy there banged your wife BEFORE you did.

You are the LAST guy.  The dumbest one. The last choice she had to snag a paycheck.

There is only 2 that got married(getting married) I can think of where they could get, or got, their money the Old Fashioned way like EF Hutton. They married into it.
