How did we get where we are as a country?

Broad question but IMO this started during
the Obama administration when we began
sleepwalking into the apocalypse. Our then president
personalizing certain crimes purely on race,
allowing infringements on fundamental rights,
accepting an overly politically correct agenda,
and an exorbitant use of the word 'racist' where it
simply shouldn't apply.

The sum is part of what we are experiencing right now. What say you?

We all went batshit crazy after 9/11. Add up all the politics after that, but that event it the turning point for me. The sad part is this is exactly what Osama Bin Laden would have wanted.

The condoning and promotion of the practice of no self responsibility. From womb to tomb, from beggar to king, we are told it is always someone elses fault and that is ok.

Apathy.

We’ve been the frogs in the pot for way too long.  It’s time to climb out of the pot and lay said pot to the side of the heads of those that have been slowly boiling us for all these years.  I mean that in a figurative way, of course.  😎

Because good people did nothing , because they wrongly believe that they have a choice, when they have none.

Meanwhile , people told you what was going to happen , and were ridiculed for it.

So we went from 'Baking the cake' to ' we are going to cut your kids tits off against your wishes.

Do-gooders, funded by do-badders, chipped away with 'its just this'.

Just remember who you cannot criticise , and follow the money.

You will NEVER be wrong.

If JFK, Bay Of Pigs, 911, Operation Mockingbird and numerous others dont even make you ask questions, then the last 7 years you must have been walking round in a coma.

Even this year, its been a total shitshow and the media is silent, becasue they are all owned by the same people who want you to know nothing.

wake the fuck up.

Social media threw gas on the fire. More people are in the middle than CNN and Fox News want you to know.

There was also a time when people took pride in being a hard worker. Now we have people scamming the system with BS medical claims . Lazy people would rather cry and complain until minimum wages are increased instead of putting in the time and energy to make themselves actually worth more money. Those 600 dollar checks really shined a light on just who people are .

Greed and apathy. People are too concerned with how they’re going to make their mortgage and car payments to give a shit. Our affluent way of life has made us soft as fuck.

Hard times make hard men. Hard men make easy times. Easy times make soft men. Soft men make hard times.” …….and we’re living in a time of soft/weak men.

Capture the universities. Capture media. Align your politics with a social argument. Make social argument off-limits. Capture tech companies. Capture white middle aged women. Align and prioritize international norms over US rights. Politicize agencies. Seed political operatives into agency field offices. Centralize power. Use power against people.

Peter Hitchens seemed to have evolved in a similar way as did his older brother. Peter and Christopher grew out of the Marxist/Socialist mentality when it became obvious that they had been wrong about so many things for far too long. Some people learn the wrong lesson from this. In my view Christopher learned that no matter how ardently you believe in something, you can still be wrong. Peter just jumped from one extreme to another. Doing exactly what he said he never did which is to follow the crowd.

But the lesson from this is that the more you think you are right, the less chance anybody has of reaching you with an alternative view. In my opinion, the left is the biggest offender in this regard and the evidence for this is that many times, they work to silence their opponents rather than converse.

Nice post . Your last sentence is spot on and it wasn’t always that way . The left used to be the protectors of free speech . Now they are the censors but claim to be all about human rights . I’m pretty much middle of the road and I disagree with the right/left about equally , but the left are far far more hypocrites in their actions . Case in point …during an election up here , many photos come out of Trudeau in blackface from different occasions not just a single incident . Obama endorses Trudeau . Are you kidding me !?! And then about a month later I see him on tv going off about racism .Fuck off Barry , your credibility on race issues is now zero .

I told Obama that on Twitter too . Got banned . 🤣

There used to be a law against political bribery called the Tillman Act that dates back to Teddy Roosevelt, then the Supreme Court legalized it, first with Buckley v Valeo in 1976, then First National Bank v Bellotti in 1978, all leading up to Citizens United in 2010 that allowed creation of PAC, Super PACs, and dark money.

It is now perfectly legal to bribe politicians because of those rulings, and that is the reason Congress is full of millionaires now, because the PACs allow them to keep whatever money isn't spent on campaigns.

Until we get all that money out of politics, what we have now with legalized bribery and corruption is what will send the country down the drain.

Guess you missed the news this week that ALL of the talking heads at Fox News except Lou Dobbs knew there was no election fraud that affected the outcome of the 2020 election.

Must suck to have been a Fox views for years only to find out even they didn't believe what "they were selling."

I call BS on your last sentence.  The people who were for the Tax Code Reform for the 1 percent are the ones the light shone brightest on for me.   The rest of us are now paying for yet another totally unnecessary transference of wealth that the middle class gets to pay for.

I can see you are a My Pillow guy fan.  And nice try but this has nothing to do with believing or not believing Fox news or which way they're leaning this week or any week. It has everything to do with Fox's true colors being shown and this is just the beginning of the decline of Fox News.  You'd have to be a complete sucker to keep watching them knowing they've been lying for two years about the election fraud.

First the red wave was a bust then Trump gets abandoned by the evangelicals and sunk to the point he is wearing a Q lapel pin and now Fox's dishonesty is on display for all to week.

Bad month for MAGA folks and Fox viewers but a great time for the rest of us.  Been a long time coming and Tucker being exposed is the best of all.

Dont forget the Smith-Mundt Modernization act as well.

You mean like that crazy conspiracy that the virus that shall not be talked about, was created in a Chinese Bio Lab, with funding from Fraudci and the NIH? Yeah, those crazy conservatives are waaaay off base! [\sarcasm]

Here are some numbers from 2020 Tax Year Data -

The top 1% account for 42% of all individual federal income tax revenue.

The top 25% account for 88% of all individual federal income tax revenue.

The top 50% account for 97.7% of all individual income tax revenue.

Where in that data lies your oppression?
