Ive never had one. Although I am not a fan of the ethanol in pump fuel for bikes or vehicles, but regardless, I've never had a problem.

if your a int rider or better even some c riders then you need to blend your gas or the biies detonate. we use c12 or Sunoco 110 50/50 with no problems at all
I was talking about gumming things up.

If you are detonating a stock bike, unless you are a intermediate or pro racer, fix it for cheaper.

And what it takes to fix it isnt going to make a slow rider any slower.

But hey, 33 bucks for practice racers keeps race fuel peeps happy and their Lambo payments paid.

Wow

Oxygen, Energy, Comtrolled burn...things like that.

That's why I run and tune with good fuel.

I run VP T4 in my off-road bikes and U4.4 in my MX bikes (all 4T).

My old RC250 2T runs on VP that's already premixed at 50:1.

Does race gas cost more? Sure.
I'm worth it.

Look up E98 (Ethanol) and see what "modern day" race engines are doing in the 1/4 mile with it.

I am a car builder and do a lot of cars that run on e85 and e98....yes e85 is 107 octane and has a intercooler effect on the engine....drops 10-15 degrees inlet air charge going into engine...it allows us to run 4-7 degrees more timing advance then pump gas,......downside is it corrodes tops of pistons ...valve guides and wrecks havoc on fuel injectors e85 takes 27 percent more fuel to make the same hp as pump fuel and e98 is 37 percent more......that being said ...I run either cam 2 100 in my rmz250 or vp t4 .....the t4 was good for almost 2hp over e10 [ump fuel and bike starts easier ...check out my instagram for some welding pics and funny pics.....1badrmz250

You running naturally aspirated engines? E85 and the like are the cats meow in forced induction.

VP T4 it is!

Yes E85 works great in engines build specifically for it, Ive got a LS1 Camaro that I have thought about switching but just can't do it because we don't have E85 in my area. For my bikes I just want the best possible. Good fuel in a 2 stroke with a short silencer should make for a fun day at the track!

The guy wants to run race gas, who the hell cares. It's his money.

I want to run race gas just so I can smell the fumes...Mmmmmmm

Most people don’t have problems they just want to be in the cool kid club. The fact is, that a stock engine running on VP is an astronomical waste of money with 0 benefit

I run vpr in my yz450, the only problem I had was a little lean pop and I fixed that with my tuner. I would probably run cam2 but no one around here sells it, all the gas stations that had it quit selling it and have started selling ethanol free gas in its place. i have to drive to concord near the speedway to get vpr but it's worth it to me and a plus is in going to make a coffee table with the empties in my man cave!

What is cam2??

T4 is a pump replacement fuel.

Re-branded Sunoco Race Fuel. Not sure if it is around anymore, this thread is 8 years old.

I've found CK91 rips pretty good in 4-strokes.

Since this thread got brought back from the dead. What fuel yields the most HP gain in a modern, unmodified 4 stroke?? It’s for my snow bike at elevation so yes the HP gain actually does matter.

Half clear 93 and half VP110 with Maxima oil. Smells like nostalgia and rips

It’s pricy but MR12 or MR- Pro6 will make the most power but it’s about $160-200 for a 5 gallon pail. If it’s a two stroke then MRX02 makes the most power.

One of the big differences is VPR is leaded and T4 is unleaded. Injectors are designed for unleaded fuel, have no idea if unleaded is a problem for them. Can't remember if the 09 CRF is carbed or not but I think that was the first year of EFI. I sell T4 like 4 to 1 over VPR.

09 450 was efi,250f carb

This is something I’ve been curious about. Does running 110 in a modded two stroke actually add power? Or is it just needed for the higher compression? The only reason I ask is because the last 6 months I’ve been spending the extra money on u4.4 because it legitimately adds noticeable power. Even to a stock engine. Prices are insane now, 110 is around $80, c12 $90-100, and u4.4 $110-130.

VP 110 doesn't add power to a modded 2-stroke but it is a good safe fuel for compression and timing also really cheap out of the pump here in SoCal little over 8 bucks a gallon at Downs fuel

Still $8 after the last 6 months? I’m an 1.5 hours from there but that’s worth the drive. Indio had Sunoco 110 for $10 at the pump, but now it’s $15

AV gas and a turbo is far more effective and cheaper overall.  1

Honestly I just don’t trust aftermarket kits. I’ve yet to see something with forced induction that wasn’t factory run reliably. Yes they run like a raped ape, but for how long? I’ll take reliable N/A power in the mountains any day.

Turbo k series engines are capable of a reliable 400whp on a 100% stock engine. I remember a guy had a f series with a head gasket making 700whp, he had a built block in his garage on stand by, and I believe sold/wrecked the car before he ever needed it. It’s all in the tune as far as those engines go

I’m talking about dirtbike engines. The kind where when they break down it’s a helicopter ride out of the mountains. If it could be done reliably there would be bolt on kits available. The snow bike crowd isn’t afraid to spend money on power, but it has to be reliable.

One thing about pump fuel even race fuel at the pump is it’s vented. It heats up and cools down and vents and also allows moisture and other contaminates in the tank and isn’t as consistent as a sealed pail or drum of race fuel. When I was younger I used to get 110 at the pump and it was never consistent. Keeping your fuel sealed and fresh is key.
