Impressive but calm tf down, many others have had way better debuts. AC, Tomac, Stew, just to name a few
He is this close and its only his 2nd race and he already won a qualifier . Thats pretty dam impressive.
AC went 1-2-1-2-1 before destroying his shoulder. Much better debut than a couple 4ths finishing 20 seconds behind the leader in each race.
AC should show everyone how quickly things can change with some injuries.

Call me when he looks like Bradshaw or Canard in their first season. They were beasts not boys.
He has been solid an able to capitalize on others mistakes to earn good finishes.
I'm not trying to take away from his result but both rounds he would have been about 7th without others misfortune. It's still solid an to outrace jmart is impressive
Think his had 7th fastest lap in both main.
Consistent rider, just see the raw speed comes in next year or so
I can't believe we are still getting negative comments about this kid. He is yet another top guy that is adding storylines and competition. You don't have to like him or his Dad, but you cannot argue these first two rides have been great....albeit in a very weak overall 250 field.
The lengths some of you guys will go to discredit his rides is just mind blowing, he’s doing an absolutely stellar job as a rookie and his improvement since the Futures race a few weeks ago is remarkable. He’s exceeded everyone’s expectations by a long shot and looked surprisingly controlled doing it, that’s pretty damn good for a first season.
Only top 5 in his first two SX races… he’s wack. If you ain’t first, you’re last!
He is fun to watch.
Haiden Deegen has been more than impressive. If any other rider, in their first season in sx , achieved the results Haiden has, they would be getting accolades for their accomplishments. Brian has done an excellent job in shaping his son for motocross, and if you are not commending Haiden Deegan, then perhaps you should examine your bias.
Just as impressive is Vialle, who has very little sx experience at all. I'll also throw in Chance Hymas. These riders are going to be shredding it in a season or two and are the future champions of our sport.
Only guy who has landed a backflip and won a heat race since Travis Pastrami
You don't "luck" into a top 5 in SX. It takes a lot of skill to be in the right place to capitalize on mistakes.
He's good for the sport and I hope his online presence helps it grow.
Josh Hill has landed backflips and has won a 450 main event.
RC went 11, 19, 1, 6, 1 his first year in SX. It does show that his first race was a west round then he raced the east series. Maybe the rules were different back then.
CR was 17, 6, 5, 8.
KW 3, 2, 3, 3.
Jeremy McGrath 11, 8, 2, 8.
Not all the greats started off winning everything.
How about his dad? Brian Deegen 20, 16, 10, 15. So he’s starting off better then his old man.
Wonder how he would have gone with out doing backflips
That backflip gone wrong cost him BIIIIIGGGG....
..and well done to Deegan, he is on a pretty good trajectory so far.
Pit Row
I'm really impressed by Deegan so far. He is a bit loose but he attacks the track. I liked how he didn't back down from Hunter. I think he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Hopefully he stays healthy and just uses this year to learn w/o pushing too much. But if a win comes to him then that woukd be awesome. I dont think he needs a main win this season, to prove anything.
Someone needs to check his engine.
Definitely more carbunkle than jett. Jett is poetry. Rc and db somehow defy physics and make it work.
Pfff if his Dad didn't have the money to buy a cheat code to upgrade his skill, cardio, and balls on the track he would never be this good. Others have to work hard to get to this level. But here comes Daddy Deegan busting out his Metal Mullisha Black Amex card and buys the upgrades. It's really not fair.
I can’t stand Deegan. I’m a Lawrence fan boy.
but Damm! The kid can ride! He’s shown his maturity with not pushing and letting the races come to him. The speed is there. Just comes with time and adjustment.
He shouldnt have pressure to win. Sitting 3rd in points, consistent rides a little luck. The title could swing his way if he keeps riding the way he has.
The kid is super impressive.
Quite a bit better than I was expecting.
a lot of water still to pass under the bridge. But what an impressive first couple of races. Good to see young kids turning some heads
CR’s 17th was as a kid visiting in a one off race on a borrowed practice bike, and the 6, 5, 8 was in the premier class straight up as a part timer in his first year in the US. Everyone else’s results are on 125s.
His real rookie results in 125/250f SX was 1,1,1,1,1,1,2. Imagine Vialle coming in and doing that now? But Reed wasn’t a world champion and was years younger….
Regardless none of it means much because every rider takes a different path and peaks at different times.
I can't believe how many haters are on this forum. The kid is fast, and there's nothing your whining is going to do to change that.
It’s hard to deny his speed and determination, But he reminds me of Ferrandis first season.
No rookie on the current gate has had the same amount of SX prep that Haiden. He has had a private SX track since he was on 65’s and has been training SX with the Star guys for two seasons now.
He can ride SX really well and go through the track without any problems. The problem i see is his overly agressive riding, wasting much energy and making plenty of small misstakes with it.
those misstakes don’t come from lack of ability on the bike, they come from over riding.
If he tames it down he will probably become faster, and you could clearly see that Hunter lost his paitience with Haidens type of riding last night.
He will probably end up hurt soon if he not clean up his riding.
It's amazing to me how much unwarranted shit this kid receives, I honestly don't understand it. He's humble, respectful, and doesn't come off remotely cocky in his interviews. He easily wins a Heat Race in his second Supercross ever and even while the reporter tries to goad him into talking shit, he doesn't. He then says he's just glad to be there and wants to do the best he can for his team and he just wants to get experience racing Supercross...after he just checked out in his heat race! Yes his family is wealthy, yes Brian is famous, and they have a huge Social Media following. But that is the landscape of today's culture of marketing yourself, and they have crushed it since he was on 65's doing a backflip and then we went out and cleaned house at the amatuer Nationals. I understand how the older guys here don't realize the reach and magnitude social media has in todays world. But getting your name out to the people on numerous social media platforms is a must. Everyone saying the money is some how making him an amazing rider? There is other families at these amatuer races that have 10 to 20 times the money the Deegans have. You just don't hear about them, you know why? Because their kid doesn't have Haiden's drive, skill or motivation to win. It's ridiculous how jealous and vindictive grown men are towards a 17 year old kid because of his family name. Maybe he should start talking in an Aussie accent and express his love of Bagels? The middle aged "Anger Boys" are pathetic.
I really hate the name "dangerboy".... but the kid has some chops. He didn't just lay over for Hunter.
There were a ton of cheers for him in the crowd. He's gotta be selling a few seats...
He forgot to ghost ride his bike after the heat race win but other than that he's a pretty talented kid.
