I would suspect that would be around the dealer cost? I have no idea what dealer cost is. I get this from the sales that the dealers give me. "We don't get any great deals from the manufacture." "I am only making $300 on this."

I've got a buddy just picked up an 09 for $4400 in MN and said he found a few for $4k but the drive was a bit further.

So, realistically, you can find $4 grand '09 YZF 450's.

Then, with your other $3500 you were gonna blow on some '10 -

you can pick up a NEW 2007 CRF250.

I've found dealer cost on most 450s is around $1000 less than msrp. my employee discount is cost plus a couple hundred bucks, and after tax & title I got my 09 KX for around $7,300 and change. When the dealer is saying he's not making any money on mx bikes, he's not lying. Quads and streetbikes are the moneymakers around here.

I have seen plenty of YZ450's for 4900 but never this. its gotta be a scam. They are offering huge rebates on the 450's right now because they didnt sell near as many as they thought they would. On average the YZ250 is selling for about 600-800 more than the F that retails for a grand more. If I could get $2500 off a YZ I would buy 2. havent seen discounts like these ever. They must not have converted everyone yet. What happened?

Anything like this out of Indonesia is definately a scam. How do I know? I was looking into the same sort of deal last year. I didn't go ahead with the deal because I was suspicious and so thought I'd play along with the dealer. I asked for proof of shipping documents, bill of lading, invoice etc. The guy even came back with official looking documentation from a made up shipping company complete with a tracking number and website to search the tracking number.
With a little bit of investigation work I found out his company did not exist, neither did the shipping company, he created the dummy website himself and I traced his IP address to an internet cafe in Medan Indonesia. I stopped contacting him and after a while he called me on the phone asking why I hadn't transfered the money. When I confronted him about the fraud he simply hung up and I never heard from him again.
