BM255 Started a new thread 1990 KX250 build

I picked up this 1990 KX250 off Craigslist for $700 when I was visiting California with the family over the holidays. It is currently awaiting shipping to NZ, should arrive the first couple of weeks in Feb. I was inspired by the "Project 90" build Mathes did recently and I'd like to achieve something similar. This is not going to...

Thanks man, the rear disc is the original, I just cleaned it up, the front is a brand new replica of the OEM, check out metalgear, it's a company in Australia, they make replica discs for pretty much everything

Hi all, I haven't posted updates for ages, been working on this project on and off over the last year or so. Today it finally got to see the light of day and I'm pleased to say it's all but finished, just a couple of small finishing touches to do. This thing was hands down the biggest pile of sh*t...

Guys, I have ended up with two of the 93 Bradshaw replicas, would be keen to let one go if anyone is interested. It's a size L

I'm all done apart from the tank, I found a replacement that was in reasonable condition, sanded and polished it up and it looks acceptable now. When I went to fit it I found that the mounting bracket is located about 10mm further back than the original, I can't understand why as the part numbers are the same across both...

Looks fantastic, awesome effort man! I know how hard it is to build one of these, I'm still trying to finish mine. I'm finding it really difficult to source a good condition fuel tank, you wouldn't happen to have one would you?

Not sure if this has been posted before but I just came across this video of some Kiwi boys taking full advantage of the natural terrain jumps on offer on their farm. Looks like loads of fun https://youtu.be/YiEZcRL3fsE

Just checked my emails and I received a message from Rusty. It was great to hear he is still at MotoSport as I've dealt with him in the past when he was managing international orders and always found him to be great to deal with. Rusty believes that Borderfree have most likely got their formula wrong for calculating the correct...

You have a point but a lot of the stuff I'm after just isn't available here or the local shops aren't really interested in sourcing them for me. I'm mainly rebuilding old bikes so many of the parts have been discontinued or have superseded part numbers so they have to manually send a list of parts to Japan and wait...

Yeah I wouldn't mind if it was the real value of the GST, it would actually be quite helpful, but to mark it up 400% is just taking the piss. I haven't tried those other sites you mentioned, will check them out

I've used BTO and Part Shark before, they were both fine, never tried Riders Discount though. Things have really gone downhill at MotoSport since they were sold last year, seems like they have forgotten their roots and values. I used to deal with a guy there called Rusty, he would often help me with orders and finding parts I need...

I don't often start posts and don't really like to bitch about stuff, but today I just feel I need to share my utter frustration and disgust at the experience I had with MotoSport. I've been a customer on and off for years, and they have usually been my first pick when I need to order parts. This time however...

BM255 Started a new thread Hangtown - Advice please

Hey guys, I'm flying over for the first couple of rounds of the Outdoors, arriving into San Francisco on the Friday before Hangtown. The plan is to grab a rental car, drive to Sacramento, stay the night and then go to Hangtown on Saturday morning. The plan thereafter is pretty open, I'm thinking about a road trip to Vegas, followed...

Thanks DC, we are into all that stuff and will definitely check out the garage company....it looks fantastic. It's always been a dream to go to an AMA national so we are very excited. Thanks for the offer of assistance, will shoot you an email later on Cheers
