Just saw this on IG. Sounds like he dodged a potentially horrible outcome.
"We had a blast at the Houston Supercross yesterday, seeing all our friends. It was great to catch up and visit. Taking Hudson and Emma to the track walk was a highlight for Andrew. Hudson still thinks he can jump the finish line on an 85🙈. Unfortunately today Andrew lost the front end under braking and had a big slam. T 7,8,9 are shattered, one broken rib and bruised lungs. We’re extremely blessed and very thankful he has feeling in his legs and hands. I’m extremely thankful for the friends that helped him get to the hospital and take care of Hudson and continue to show him a great time. He has surgery in the morning, it does sound more complicated than initially thought. We appreciate all the prayers! It been a while since 29 has been hurt.

Holy shit, we were just chatting with Andrew in the press box last night and he was talking about how stoked he was to get back in a training program...getting ready to race spring nationals with his son, etc.

I was standing about 5 feet from andrew during second qualifying yesterday … bummer for sure. Heal up soon andrew!

Was out at a sand track last weekend with him, He still had soooo much speed. Nice guy too, asked if he had a tire tube since I popped my tire, he didn’t have one but was cool and his son super nice too. Heal up quick.
Sounds like they may have to do a fuze to support them vertebrae. Hopefully surgery goes nice and smoothly and he heals up without complications. Andrew is such a great dude
Jacki Short said the surgery went well. Ten screws and complicated. Andrew will be in hospital for about a week.
He has feeling in all parts and can wiggle his fingers and toes. Glad to hear all this.
It's crazy he survived ridiculously dangerous rally racing then get hurt like this. Terrible news.

Shorty was always one of my favorites. Hope he heals up quickly. There was a time when no one could get the holeshot better than he.

I obviously have never met Andrew.
But he really comes across as an absolute gentlemen.
He really seems to be genuine, and not putting on the nice guy facade at all.

He is just as he appears; a very genuine and nice person to be around. A spent a little time with him back in.....2014, maybe 2015 for work and he was very cool, very nice, and down to earth.
Glad this wasn't any worse and he's already seen progress toward recovery.
