Yeah. He looked like he was out on contact with the ground in the replay. Hope he is OK. Looked good walking to the UTV afterwards.
A* medic crew wouldn't have given him that much liberty if they thought it was more serious.
Good news for sure! Red flags are no joke. Hope he’s back soon!
Good news! Well better news than it could’ve been.
I was a little bummed Tomac did not at least mention his teammate on the podium interview, but whatever glad he is ok

I doubt they’re buddies or anything. Probably barely see each other.
Other interview...
“That was a big rebound for us,” said Tomac. “Last week’s crash was really scary, and I still can’t believe I’m healthy. Just wanted to come here and have a good solid race. My starts were back to where I was up front in both of those races. That was key for me. The red flags are always wild there, and that was unfortunate for my teammate Dylan. I just improved my riding in the main event. The whole day, Chase had another level on us. I just ended up riding better in the main, found a couple more lines. I don’t know, I was able to do it for those 20 minutes there.”
Come on man.. WTF. When these riders are being interviewed right after the race, they basically have a script they are focused on. At times they are trying to condense a thousand thoughts at once while being interviewed. You really think he's not concerned about his mate? I'm sure every single rider who finished that main had a moment and thought about Dylan and had a lump in their throat.
I'm happy Dylan should be ok. Hopefully his head is ok when he wakes up today. Such a great guy, competitor and important person in our sport.
I noticed that too. Especially after the announcer chick mentions the crash 5 seconds prior.
He mentioned him specifically in the press conference. There is so much going on on those interviews, you simply cannot judge these guys on this. HR through the moon for 20 minutes after being at the track for 16 hours and 100 people want their attention at that moment.
So glad it wasn't worse.
The replay they showed of the crash/contact with Roczen (which was poor quality) didn't look bad...but hitting your head just right is all it takes.
Heal up Dylan!
Awesome news. I hope he takes all the time he needs to feel 100%.
Check the last page or two of the race thread. There's an Instagram clip of him laying motionless on the track.
It looked really bad for a while.
Glad he's going to be fine.
I did see that...and it is very scary to see. What I meant by "didn't look bad" was the actual incident that caused him to go down. Haven't seen any better footage of the crash.
Eli was not focused on that and never should be. He has a job to do. The last thing he needs in his mind is someone on the same bike going OTB, especially after he did last weekend. It’s not his job to focus on other riders, it’s his job to win. Don’t be so sensitive.
Nothing gets in your head worse then a life flight chopper leaving the track when you're on the gate.
If you race regularly you get it. If you don't, you don't.
No video what happened?
came here for a Dylan update and found out someones feelings were hurt by Tomac's podium speech.
There's a small glimpse of it on the broadcast.
He hit the back of Roczen's bike after the whoops and hit his head on the ground.
Pit Row
It was only a small glimpse, but looked to me like he was already out of control before hitting Roczen’s bike.
So it was similar to Deegans wild ride end of whoops but Roczen was just there where he was going?
Found some footage, can't see everything but it seemed like he was out of control before he hit Roczen already. Hit his head REALLY hard, god bless nothing worse happened. Tough sport..
The crash is at 1:08 mark.
The crash doesn't necessarily look "big" but the way his head hits the ground makes me cringe.
Bad deal, hopefully he's fine and recovers well and quickly.
First time to any kind of track was organized practice at Village Creek here in Texas. CareFlite had to land just before the slow guys got on the track. I kept my wheels on the ground 100% of that first practice. I've had a few helicopters land prior to cross country races also. Definitely jacks with your mind a bit.
Man that was a scary hit to the head. Kind of glad that tuff block was there so we didn't see his head get twisted back when it hit the ground. Glad he's okay. Could've been worst case scenario.
Clear view of the crash.
I wonder if he gained super powers. Ever read a comic book?
Ok....I take back what I said earlier that from the broadcast it didn't look that bad.
That was a brutal hit.
He was in control just ran out of track when Kroc shut the door.
Yep just saw the other view. I’d only seen the view from across the adjacent lane where all you saw was Ferrandis is in the air with the bars turned.
Man he had a good run happening but ran out of room there. He really needs a break from these injuries. Hopefully he comes into the Outdoors fresh and back to his full potential.
He's going to miss Tampa and hopes to be back for Oakland.
