Purely to create conversation here, but anyone else agree it looks like Bennick has a brighter future then Deegan? At some point the constant hype has to weigh on the kid....Bennick appears to be calm cool and collected and Dungey like. Thoughts?

Bringing back “Lites” for 2025, nice.

Why does Deegan get to race pro when Bennick won a Futures?

Why does Deegan get to race pro when Bennick won a Futures?

One or more of these:

A -  Bennick doesn't have enough Pro points yet.

B -  Because Bobby Regan said so.

Based on one race?  Makes sense.  There’s no telling who will have a better career right now.  By this standard Eli is all done since he just got beat in his last race.

I'm not a Deegan fan, but he had me watching in the futures race.  His corner speed seemed really good!  Aggressive/attacking, but still flowing through them.  I really hope any and all of the young guns that are joining the big boy class stay healthy.  Good for them, and good luck to them!

C.Brian Deegan used to sponsor star racing at one point. I'm sure he still has a good connection with Bobby Regan.

I hope they both have great careers…that being said, Deegan has done tremendous work for the future of the sport.

Kids like my 7 yr old son love watching the Deegan’s on YouTube- motivates him to ride. He will watch Haiden ride videos then go out and ride his bike..repeats this all day long on the weekend. Great mentor for kids..

He has also helped Bennick gain attention by featuring/tagging him in videos.

This seems like a hot take off of a single 6 minute + 1 Lap race.

Haiden and Daxton have been competitors (and friends) for years. Great battles on minis. Dax moved up to big bikes for the 2020 season so he never rode SuperMini's at Loretta's or Mini-O's but Haiden did. Haiden moved up 2 years later so 2022 was his first year on big bikes and a resumption of things.

So, Dax has been on a big bike much longer, but only been on the Star bike a few months.

Here's recent head to head other than the Futures race...

2022 Loretta's

250 B

--Deegan - DNF/2/1   (DNF mechanical)

--Bennick - 4/1/3

Schoolboy 2 (12-17) B/C

--Deegan - 1/1/1

--Bennick - 2/2/2

2022 Mini-O's

--Motocross--

250 Pro Sport (MX)

--Deegan - 1/1

--Bennick - 5/2

250 A (MX)

--Deegan - 1/1

--Bennick - 2/2

450 Pro Sport (MX)

--Deegan - 1/1

--Bennick - 14/2

--Supercross--

250 Pro Sport (SX)

--Deegan - 6/1

--Bennick - 9/4

250 A (SX)

--Deegan - 1/5

--Bennick - 8/1

450 Pro Sport (SX)

--Deegan - 1/1

--Bennick - 5/3

2022 mini O’s?  I’m reading the article and it seems only 1 race did Bennick win over Deegan and it says it was 250A not SX while Deegan won 4 or 5 other races over Dax.  Including SX according to the article. Msybe you were talking about back on 80’s?

This thread blows !!
why do so many Deegan threads keep popping up with ridiculous accusations/ predictions ?
Deegan is going to be just fine, he will make lots of money racing a dirt bike for a living.
Daxton will be great too, but why are so many already talking shit on Deegan after one amateur SX race ?
I’m willing to bet that Haiden will be top 10 within his first few races. Once he realizes what he needs to do, to be a contender, he will be contending for podiums next year.

Give the kid a break and quit trying to put him down, he’s going to be just fine !

I was referring to 2022. Dax took home 2 titles and Deegan the rest.....not bashing on Deegan at all in this, I just think that Dax has a higher ceiling.

Regardless, we have a pretty solid 250 class within the coming years! Hopefully Deegan can figure out his starts because since mini's that has been his problem...just my 2 cents

I am a fan of Haiden Deegan and the Deegan family.  In my book, he's a good kid, who's taken the opportunities given to him and put in the work, for a long, long time.  I wish him, and the rest of the up and comers a great career.

I also like the way Brian and Marissa are parenting their kids, giving them every advantage they can to succeed.  Isn't that what we all do?

I don't understand how people can go so negative on a 17 year old.

Based on one race beaumer has more speed than either of them.  And on a factory team, maybe his bars will be tight. 🤷‍♀️

If we were basing all predictions on these results Deegan is the clear winner…

He should be top 10 at Houston

Swoll, Shimoda, Romano, Hammaker, Romano, Marchbanks (?) are all guys that are out that would otherwise probably beat him.

Just based on speed. Both Bennick and Deegan are floating around the 5th place spot on the West Coast lap times. But throw in racing with Pro riders banging bars almost every time they get near you. Now you have a much different scenario to navigate around a track. Its what makes or breaks some kids.

I try to stay out of the Deeeeegan threads, but the only reason the kid is under a microscope is because his PARENTS chose to put him there with YouTube and whatever else.

Plenty of wealthy parents have given their kids nearly equal shots at success, but did so under the radar.

I agree........but not 100%.  The YouTube stuff etc has for sure elevated it, but he has been very successful as an amateur and would be just as hyped as Hawkins or Bennick if he didn't have all of that.....but because he does have all of that his net worth and future earnings will be massive IF his results back it up.

I am not at all hating on Deegan, I am actually a fan and see the value that he brings to the sport and if that is the accusation you are making off my post, I apologize. However, I also tend to root for the underdog and the person people aren't necessarily looking at.

Well YouTube has created quite a bit of income for Haiden and Hailie through the sponsorships it has opened up because of the amount of followers it has created....you call it a microscope others would refer to it as an income stream....

Why would they want to fly under the radar? The Deegan name is a lightning rod in the MX community. Metal Mulisha was/is a very good cash cow for the Deegan's and it has allowed him to provide for his family in ways 95% of us on here could never imagine. Love him or hate him, Brian has built a huge family brand for himself, and his kids and I do not think any of the kids would trade what they have now for the grind most of us do daily to keep our kids racing and riding.

I was never a fan of MM or Brian Deegan, but I have to respect what he's done in our sport.

For real.  The goal of every sponsor who supports someone is maximum exposure.  What Deegan brings in terms of eyeballs on product is exactly what a sponsor dreams of.  Most don’t bring that exposure even with a title.  He’s so far ahead in being a marketable entity it’s not even funny.  The parents doing it under the radar are doing their sponsors a disservice.
