Pulp show live at 3 Palms Friday night.
I was under the impression that Covid ended pre-race dealer signings and the teams and riders are in no hurry to bring them back. Have they returned now?
Wife and I are heading to Houston on Thursday. 1st time to Texas cant wait to put cold NW Ohio behind for a weekend. Any suggestions on best attractions to see?
The factories have not brought back the Friday night open houses at dealerships with the riders. Not sure when or if that will come back.

That’s why I moved down here from central Ohio, but the jokes on me I guess.
damn, thank you for letting me know!
Up here in the DFW area, it looks like the weather is going to be pretty decent this weekend. This week is a bit brutal as far as Texas weather goes though.
We are making the trip Thursday from Iowa! Cold here too lol.
Anyone driving through North Texas over the next couple of days should keep an eye on road conditions. Roads are hockey rinks currently and it's supposed to get worse in some spots tomorrow into Thursday. Hopefully, getting above freezing mid-afternoon on Thursday.
I live 15 minutes from NRG. I’ll have the pit lit and enjoying it from the comforts of my sofa 🛋!!!!
Iowa is one of my favorite states. Used to go Pheasant hunting every year in the 90's. Mason City to Guthrie Center. Never meet a rude person from Iowa. Have a safe trip.
I’m 10 minutes from guthrie center!
Awesome, best steak I ever bought in my life was at a small restaurant/bar in Menlo. Last time I went the place had closed. Really would like to get back out there but last I knew the Pheasant population was bad.
We are flying in on friday afternoon, looks like the weather should improve by then. I missed attending SX in person the last two years so I am excited for the weekend and the start of the 250 east!
I raise pheasants but the population is up quite a bit right now.
I'm excited to check out Houston (and Texas) for the first time! The stadium is good, right?
The stadium is nice...the food wasn't good at all the last time I was there so I'd recommend packing a lunch. But that was a few years ago so someone might correct me.
Pit Row
The zoo or museum district could be good stops. East downtown just had a write up in the local paper, grafitti park is cool (and good DIY skate spot next to it). https://www.chron.com/life/travel/article/eado-houston-17442029.php
Are they doing the freestyle stuff in the pits?
Herman Park Zoo? I grew up in Houston in the 60's. Lived in Bellaire (South Houston). Spent alot of my youth on Galveston Beach.
Yes, it's just called the Houston Zoo now but it's in Herrmann park. I love Galveston Island, moved here in 88 from SW Houston and never left..
Is the train engine in front of the park still? My grandfather was the engineer.
Didn't know there was anyone else on this island that is on Vital!
BTW, for OP, the weather will be decent this weekend 60-70's, so should be pretty nice. Its a nice stadium and good supercross to attend, and Ive been to several different ones throughout the country. Enjoy!
Not trying to hijack the thread but how's the riding around Galveston island?
Non existent, as far as I know. There may be a few private areas of land that people ride on but other than that you're better off riding on a board (surf/SUP/skate,etc). Fox88 would probably have more insight.
Thats so cool I’d be proud af!
My wife’s doctor asked me yesterday if we were going. He bought a suite and had a group going. We live in one of the big Houston burbs, League City which is down south 35-40 min. from NRG. I’ll watch from my man cave or maybe garage depending on what I’m working on. NRG is nice stadium. Plenty of good places in Houston to eat. No need to ear stadium food. Also plenty of places to party in Houston on the Richmond strip, glad those days for me are over. Not sure how I lived through all those years of working in Houston, taking customers out to drink and party. It was fun but glad those days are over!!
I don't ride anymore unfortunately, and its been a LONG time.. I still skate and surf as much as possible though! No riding that I'm aware of. My neighbor used to rip his YZ 250 down the beach all the way to San Luis Pass sand dunes back in the day, no chance at that anymore.. still some trails at San Luis but illegal, basically 4x4 stuff.
Thanks
