AStars Ken Block Tribute Gear

Huge Ken Block fan here. Was super stoked to see the gear last night in tribute to KB43. Would love if AStars made them on a limited basis for purchase. Anyone have insight?

Chases gear was some of the best I’ve ever seen, but I highly doubt they will ever be public

Maybe just keep scrolling next time instead of letting everyone know you're an asshole

I had a discussion with a freind the other day about the death of celebrities. How people get so emotional about people they have never met. More so then an old freind who dies. I just don't get it. I know it comes across as very assholhish . Im ok with that.

No, the thing that makes you look like an a-hole is not necessarily your opinion, which you are certainly allowed to have.

The a-hole part is the fact that you couldn't resist sharing it.

Alpinestars is killing the game with their offerings lately. Jett’s gear was cool too. Not my cup of tea but a rad collaboration with Anti Social Club

The guy was a driving legend that provided incredible content for years, it’s perfectly normal for people to feel emotional (i.e. sad) about his death.

You telling me you’ve never had a childhood hero or idol pass away that didn’t impact you in some way?

That gear is fugly, regardless of any Ken Block connection.

I respect the opinion, but disagree with it. I actually met Ken a few times. He was a super, down-to-earth guy, who accomplished a lot in a short period with lots of cross-industry impact. First time I met him, he actually introduced himself, “Hi, I’m Ken”, when I shook his hand. Like I don’t freaking know who he is lol

You should really be a little more compassionate towards your fellow man. Might help your outlook on life.

I usually don't care about gear anyway...it cracks me up how a bunch of moto guys go all "real housewives" over this stuff sometimes.

I didn't mind any of it. I think the worst part was Sexton's blue boots. Laughing

Well I don’t know you personally, nor does anyone else here likely. But comments like this are a huge issue of what’s wrong with people today. What a bullshit attitude man. I rarely spend any time searching through the forum anymore because nearly every thread has someone negative with a shit attitude posting a comment that could have been better off muttered inside your own thick skull. Good for you man, you accomplished just that.

Personally, I’m not usually a fan of Astars gear. But they did something special, for a very important human being within the action sports world that a lot of us grew up and still continue to love. And the gear was special, and I would imagine his family and friends seeing that live meant a great deal to them, and a memory that will last a life time.

Sorry for my lack of class here, but fuck you dude. Take your back and don’t come back for the sake of disgust you bring to others.

Agree. Blair was raving about the blue boots, but I thought they were too much.
They didn’t match the gear and killed what otherwise could have been one of the best looks of the year.

IMO, red boots would have been a better look.

Either way, it was a cool thing from Alpinestars to do.

Very sad what happened to Ken.  But the gear Sexton wore was not that great and it reminded me of the old JT dog bone gear.  In my opinion, it will not be looked back on fondly like some of the other great looking “kits” from the past.

some of the other stuff like the Michael Jordan/Bulls gear did look fantastic in my opinion though.  A-Stars has hit a few home runs with other designs.

Wasn’t all the gear just copies of Ken’s favorite firesuits, of which he likely had input in designing?

I like Anderson's set better, but AStars doing that was a great move. Ken was the most humble guy you would ever meet.

LOL, Oh no you didn't just go there. I feel the same way. No other burly wheel'd sport has the fashion police as that of SX/MX fans.

Why would you care so much about others choices?

Probably the same reason you care so much about his opinion?

Some people on this forum..

A company made tribute gear to a fallen action sports icon, fan and rider of our sport, flew his family out to watch the race and see the tribute gear in person.

Zero negativity need be here.

Ken always wore blue driving shoes, in recent years anyway. That's why.
