OK, how many of you knew what Jett's / Honda's sponsor Anti Social Social Club is about?

I had no clue, but I am an OG and live in Idaho...

Here's a link on the brand. Surprisingly Honda has had a long partnership with ASSC.

It’s like a street wear brand that’s been popular with gen z for a while. Not my style, but I think it’s really good to have brands like that doing collabs with existing moto brands.

To each their own, but I will never understand the appeal of a $180 hoodie, and I’m 21.

What does OG mean? OG is a slang term for someone who's incredibly exceptional, authentic, or “old-school.” It can be earnestly used for a legend like Michael Jordan or more ironically, like for that friend who can unwrap a Starburst with their mouth

I haven’t looked at it but I assume it is totally mainstream, corporate, establishment.

Tell me if I’m wrong.

I love ASSC and I’m really hoping they drop the collab sweatshirts with Alpinestars that Jett was wearing in the pits yesterday. My wallet is ready

Yeah I’m just like that. A hardcore player from the fields of rural Saskatchewan - where the bears and the moose play.

Looks like something you’d get at the local carnival. Buy 3 for $30, get two free.

There was a kid in the pub on friday that had a £150  snap back .

Four of us, all OG's said we had bought cars for less.

If you see me wearing  anything that cost more than £100, it was a present. And it wont be a fucking hat.

I want to know their gross sales and net profits.  This thread did not deliver on everything.

You have to be one stupid son of a bitch to pay $190 for a standard cotton hoodie sweatshirt. $85 for a t-shirt!? This is like that ludicrous Supreme brand, but appears to be marketed towards equally stupid white people.

What on God's Green Earth is wrong with you young people?

Another ridiculously expensive company is called Supreme. They also do collaborations with companies like Gucci and Balenciaga, the price of their hoodies cn be as much as $625. Christmas 2021 I do what I always do and gave my son cash because shopping for kids now is impossible. A week later we went go eat and he was wearing a red hood with "Supreme" written on the front in white, pretty basic. He then goes to tell me he spent a hundred something dollars on it. I laughed and said it looked like it was printed at a screen shop in the mall. He proceeded to tell me he wasn't joking and that it is worth that much because they do random "drops" and only print a certain amount. I was about to lose my shit on him in the middle of the f'n restaurant. I then had a flashback to my Dad getting pissed, because of the money my Mom spent on Tommy Hilfiger, Polo, and Nike for me in high school. It all made sense at that moment.

Supreme does collabs with everyone. There's a Supreme CRF250R, I think Cole Seely has it. They also did a collab with Fox. And Oreo, there's a Supreme brick, Supreme crowbar, Supreme skeletal anatomy toy, bunch of stupid shit people will pay tenfold the RRP for.

As for ASSC, I've heard a few things about the clothes being bad quality and orders taking months to ship.

Ironically enough Supreme completely plagiarised their logo from an anti consumerism art piece. I think these $500 t-shirts are made in sweatshops anyway.

I went down the rabbit hole of these brands a few years ago and it just pissed me off. Had very anti consumerist beliefs for a while. People just spend so much money on this stupid shit because other people place value on what is otherwise near worthless. At least with high end watches (which I also think are stupid) in most cases you're paying for the quality.

I'm 19 so I know a few people who are into this sort of high fashion stuff and it's going to sound like I'm making an unreasonable generalisation, which I very well could be given such a small sample size, but the thing that these people seem to have in common is they're quite shallow. Most have very basic ambitions if any, no deep philosophical views, not really anything they feel truly passionate about, etc. Interestingly financial status doesn't seem to influence whether or not someone is into these things.

Anyway I rambled too much about this. Just the whole thing makes me think misanthropic thoughts haha. I get why people are into it, but I think their reasoning is stupid.

Don’t know why people are downvoting you, some people are into bikes, some people are into fashion some people are into both like yourself.

No different to other riders like Colt Nichols and Bogle.

Not all mx riders are the same, and that’s cool.

Correct, people like certain things, rolex 15k. Works edition mx bike 15k. To each their own, no different with clothing. Just because some people dont like it or would not buy it, doesnt mean another person wont.

This brand came up around Thanksgiving. My grandkids said it is the latest abercrombie and fitch.

Props to Jett for getting paid, but this is another woke company to add to the growing list of Do Not Buy....just like all Pepsico brands they have cancelled because they are "woke"

Basically, from my understanding, if you are a consumer paying money to advertise this brand, you are making a statement.  In my day the PC term for that was "Light in the loafers".

Pretty cool that a mainstream street brand like that wants to collab with Jett/Honda/Astars.

With all the talk about growing the sport and shit, this is exactly the thing that gets eyeballs on it.
