Phoenix suprcross 2003 is a good video to watch when you're looking to remember how good Ezra was at his best. Even if he doesn't come back with this kind of speed I can't wait to see him race again.

Phoenix Part 1/3

Phoenix part 2/3

Phoenix part 3/3

Yeah. Great race for sure. I thought everyone needed a little Ezra flashabck and thought you guys would enjoy this at work. Even if youre not an Ezra lusk fan it's an awesome race. I love how Ezra didn't care who you were he raced everyone like he didn't like them much. I also enjoy watching Reedy and RC on the 2 smokers. Not doing to well listening to the boss about MX stuff at work. Ahhh, He'll get over it.

This is also a reminder that espn was no better at following the important action with then camera than speed is. All the important action is shown on replays instead of when it happens because the camera is to busy watching RC .

If he comes back with that speed he'll probably run top 10.

The way Yogi goes over the finish line table at the 1:25 mark on the third video is just textbook.

Nice... Interesting track,, even a bridge for Steve Matthes....Though I don't think RC (or his front tire) appreciates that shinny dirt.

Gotta love those 'Diet' 250cc bikes featuring new improved low-maintenance engines featuring "no-fart" sound technology.....
And those bikes feature only one throttle cable because they don't suck so hard.

My Two-¢ - The 450 was "a hole-shot device" but now that everyone has one they are just a required expense. Ask any team or privateer.

Go Ezra! Great, articulate and positive answers on the Podcast. Hope there is money available for you to do it right. Maybe a 250 two-stroke for the 250 class is in your future...

That was an awesome pass he put on Reed! I like the tracks back then they were much more exciting to watch seems they've changed to keep James in sight and it's only made things a lil boring. I did see a little scrubbing form Chad......

I know everyone is beating the drum about 250 2t in the same class as the 250 4t but really isn't it evident that the 250 2t can compete and beat down the 450? Honda and Yamaha had them back then and had some really good riders on them but yet the less powerful 250 2t that the majority of the field was on were dominating the front of the pack. Outdoors thats a MUCH different story where the 450's power can be harnessed......but come on the 250 2t can coompete in the premeir class as proven by that race. I really like the finess and style the riders have on the smoker they seem to be able to throw them around a lot easier...

Ridge is sounds so nonchalant the way you say that. Yeah--I was hanging out after I got my leg cut off---No biggie. Happens all the time.

yeah ...thanks for posting that very cool. There were a lot of passes on the track that would have had people whining in today's racing.

'03 was a great year for racing. I hope Yogi does good at the US Open and we see him in '10.

Thanks for the post - Great Race!!!

Man, Ezra was on fire that night, for sure. Him and the bike seemed to function as one, and he was just 100% spot on.

That was a brilliant/genius pass as far as I'm concerned. Reed looked over to his left, then the next thing ya know, Ezra pulls a magician trick and appears on Reed's right side - beautiful!!!

Yeah--that pass was awesome. Imagine like DPW said if that pass happened in 2010--The whining on the boards wouldnt stop.

Good point, and Reed, of all people didn't even seem to mind the pass in the interview!

That really goes to show how far we have gone in regards to what is considered acceptable on the track.

In my eyes the textbook block pass is a thing of beauty and I personally think it was a text book block pass. Beautiful!! Yogi stalks him for 16 laps then just decides it's time. I love how Yogi swung wide and then jumped across to block him.I bet if you talk to Yogi he'll tell you he had that spot picked out 10 laps before he did it. I didn't even think about what Chad said in his interview but you're Reedy seemed to be just fine w/it. Never mentioned it at all. If him and James so much as look at eachother in a race one or both will mention it in the post race interview.
