How has the next round in San Diego fared with all the rain?

Is there a possibility it to may be canceled?

I think we’re going to be fine. All of the rain in the area should be done by Tuesday.

Was checking out seats for San Diego.  Not that many seats left.  Could be another sell out.

I’m taking the kids to monster jam this afternoon. There was a ton of rain yesterday by San Diego standards. Hopefully the track crew can get a sloppy monster jam track turned into a Supercross track in 4 days with 2 of the 4 days raining.

Yes, same place. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but whatever.

I will forever miss Jack Murphy (Qualcomm) and all the races I attended there....  including the one I raced (Amateur day)....

Still bugs me when I drive by and it's gone. Sad

It was an old stadium that needed upgrading and the city didn’t want to foot the bill.  The Chargers left town because of it but SDSU still needed a home stadium.  They built a much smaller college/soccer stadium in the same location.  The stadium is similar to the one in SLC.  I have no idea who funded it.

Well it freaking poured rain the entire monster truck show and continues to rain. The entire floor of the stadium is mud soup!  It’s going to be pretty amazing if dirt works can get a track built by Friday for press day. If they do, I have a feeling it will be near the same condition as A1 if not worse. But if track conditions have anything to do with the level of racing we had at A1 let’s hope it’s similar.

Just wait. The hardcore moto guys from the UK and Idaho will be on here soon enough talking about us "Cali Girls" not being able to handle a little bit of rain.

Looks great for this weekend. Only wish all the west coast races started at 3pm like they've played with in the past.

Somebody must have crunched the numbers, but it sure seems wasteful to destroy an entire stadium and rebuild a new one instead of simply upgrading the old one. I loved Qualcomm - don't know why everyone wanted something new. Weird. Oh well, progress...

It's raining cats and dogs here today (Monday,) by the way.

Sounds like it's going to be another mad dash to try to form jumps out of chocolate pudding once the rain stops.

Absolutely. I went to most of the SX races there in the 80's. At one time, I lived across I-15 at Padre Garden Apts. and could walk over to the stadium. Great football, baseball and rock concerts there too. RJ owned that stadium in his heyday.

The rain is tapering off today in San Diego and the rest of the week looks cloudy and cool with great weather forecasted for Saturday.  If we get some sun on that dirt this week I would hope it will be better than A1 conditions.  Fingers crossed.

The stadium was undergoing renovation construction   to "close it up" at that time.

Even though the track was "detuned" down for us amateurs....it was still gnarly to run an SX track.

You can see Miller Mountain the background here...they didn't allow us to run that.  Sad

Always wondered who the hottie was in the background....

Magoofan your dad is a legend! He invested time/money into lifetime memories.

My dad did the same- getting me bikes and taking me riding in Baja and the desert.
