All this SoCal rain left us with a RARE wet desert race yesterday, leaving for crazy fast conditions that were too much fun! Nailed the start and got into the early lead but a soil sample pretty early on resulted in a DNF. Leading a bomb run like this is a pretty surreal feeling and watching it on GoPro will get the blood pumping...

BTW, Ryan Surratt, former SX/MX racer took the overall win after 80 miles of one of the most technical, rocky desert races of the year.

Balls out! Seems a little stupid to put that course marker right where there are two small rocks you can't even see. Looks like a hard crash you took there. And that near collision! That dude seemed to come out of nowhere.

Trevor, did you take a nap after that hit? I saw the other camera angle on your IG, and that was violent! Glad you are okay...you were on the gas....

I would get lost withing 90 seconds of the start, even if I hadn't been able to get 1/4 as far as you did........

That was bad ass, sorry you took a tumble.

Ain't no feeling like holeshotting a bomb run.

That’s wild. Terrain can change fast in the desert too, you can be riding along and run into a sand wash or a random rock..or even a donkey

A little pink ribbon and some arrows, or in this case the wet trail through the desert does a lot of it for you

It takes a lot of time to develop it and read the terrain and markings at speed. I don't race many desert races like this every year so I felt like I had to back it down a tad to read everything, ultimately getting passed just before going down

I've had experience with all three, some on more than one occasion Laughing

Props for being able to ride that pace. That desert looks exactly like the terrain that I mostly ride, it’s a whole different animal when you have to read ribbons while doing it. That alone would drop me atleast one class in speed lol

We get to pre-run the bomb run, the first mile or so but everything else is blind to us
