Didn’t he just beat ET in the WSX on a red bike about a month ago or so..
Sounds like the same excuses all the top guys make when they don't perform...just sayin.
He did but how long were the mains??
i think his arms will just never be the same. He’s doing damn good for what he has stacked against him as far as long term effects from a past traumatic injury goes
looked to me like he started to fade around 13-15 minutes. Interested to see show he does at the next triple crown
Fair point. He appeared to be fighting the Zuk & didn’t look comfortable. Granted he hasn’t had much time on the bike to develop some good settings.
That being said he also didn’t have much time on the CRF he raced in WSX with FC suspension settings, but took the win against ET..

KR came out hot in both races and got “bit” by the race track/conditions pretty damn quick: then he’d slide into “careful but fast” mode…which appeared to make him tighten up.
In his heat, he kept getting in trouble charging right into REALLY shitty ruts while trying to pass Marv & then got his “head straight” & went to work…passed Marv and started figuring the track out. All the while he had more than a few “outta shape” moments in the long combo section along the “3rd base line” and he seemed to go to work on trying to figure that section out while STILL making good laps and staying with-in around 2-3 secs of Sexton and staying ahead of Webb. That same section would still be a PIA for KR in the main.
In the turns. KR was doing something that he and Marvin can do really, really well…but, it leaves the door open…they can go up really HIGH on the turn-transition/exit to avoid all the ruts and crap…but, as I said…it leaves room for others to get up inside of them.
The track was shittier than the TV coverage reveals. Especially in jump transitions and entering and exiting a few of the fastest turns. Towards the end of the main, the moisture/water was staring to come thru and really screw up some to the Trina and jumps. Especially the Over-Under (As seen when Eli crashed).
Looking at KR’s 1st race “back on the Zook” and this being A1..& he’s got maybe a month of time on this bike…? (A point that was made by RC last night)
He had not had one single race on it & you LEARN a helluva lot at your 1st race on anew set-up. He seemed to be able to attack the whoops like a boss ALL NIGHT. He was working HARD on figuring out the 4X Triple section…again…on a new bike…and when he nailed it…he was ON. That section has some shitty transitions…ESPECIALLY at entrance and exit points.
For those claiming he’s “not in shape”? He did get tight at about the 6:00 mark and started to fade; but, this was also after a couple of laps where he’d made some bad line choices and beat the shot out of himself…mostly while trying to race Eli. But, a lap later while having to race Ferrandis, he STILL was digging deep and trying to racing for position.
During this very same time…the wheels were coming off for…Malcolm(yes, before he crashed he was gettin tight…and that was a shitty crash. damn!), Chase was looking scary…even Ferrandis…and a few others. The point: more than a few riders were looking ragged out there while KR took a few moments to get his shit back together and keep it in the hunt within the lead group.
The rest of the guys were waaaaay back there. From where KR was at…Nichols was over 13 seconds back (6th) and El Hombré was over 18 secs back (7th).
I‘m thinking being in the hunt for well over 1/2 the main and staying in the lead group is a good start, staying off the ground… & on a new bike & a new team and with a MUCH better grasp of how to keep himself healthy and “in it” than he’s had for quite some time. I think that’s ALL a good thing
Kr fittnes was fine before he left bakers factory and before his hand injuries
Not everyone can be number 1, actually it's probably 1,000 000 to1.
It was fine after he left bakers . Arm injury has affected him
You dont think being 6 years on a honda count s for anything . Yea it had different suspension etc .but it's not like he never rode a honda before. Plus you could nt get two different tracks if you tried. Paris was Rock hard no ruts .
This is to protect himself from injuries. I think that's also why he encouraged AC to leave Baker years ago.
Those aren't "excuses." Do you want to know what riders are dealing with or will we just keep the sport shrouded in even more secrecy than there already is?
the old arm excuse again from the super fans. jesus.
I’m pretty sure John Tomac would be glad to take some time away from Eli, and train Kenny.
Then again…not.
Some of you mofos would complain about a blowjob I swear lol
It’s an All time caliber blowjob that drags teeth right before bringing home the championship. Everyone is rooting for it to finish off the job.
One look at Eli on the podium last night and you would know if you cycle much that Eli isn't cycling that much at this point in his training.
That got a legitimate LOL outta me!
Overall, Roczen still hasn’t spent a whole lot of time on his new bike. I was pretty encouraged by how well he road it. I could see him winning a couple of races on it this season as he gets more time on it.
I don’t think that we’ll ever see him be quite as consistently good as he was before his major injuries, but I’m okay with that. He’s still one of the best riders on the earth and a lot of fun to watch.
Pit Row
Sure. There are some variables, but he also has familiarity with the Zuk.. From my understanding that’s one of the reasons he went with the RMZ.
As the season goes on it will be interesting to see if they develop better settlings.
I still believe the bike will hold him back though at the highest level in comparison to the other brands.
Your understanding is off I think. He said himself it doesn’t feel anything like the last zuke he was on. And it’s an entirely different frame.
You'd have to actually expect others to listen to Ken Roczen himself to know that info, crazy right?
A few points I'd like to bring up: 1) Roczen knows how to train and be in shape. 2) If he thought the Honda was the answer then he would have found a way to stay on one.
Not surprised you’re chiming in & still hiding behind that keyboard & monitor. I’d like to see you actually do some chirping face to face…
He was pretty damn fit in 2016 and the beginning of 2017. So what happened? Hmm? 🧐 🤔
🤫 it’s not the bike.
Guess were not getting an acknowledgement you were wrong.
Tell us more how that Honda is the best. Remember one of the other 900 times you said this and I told you my name is Seth. What is your name? Taking the internet serious, nice work h4l.
I have a solution for your diarrhea of the mouth. If you’re making it to the Oakland SX let me know. I’ll bring my solution & cure with me.
I find it very interesting with squids like you that can’t back up the stuff they spew on social media..
meet H4L
Easy Tiger!
Deal, see you there. I have been training. Did you forget to let me know your name or are you hiding behind your keyboard still?
LOL ! You’ve been training. We shall see..
