So many dumb mf s wrote Webb off before the season even started. So easy for many, to discredit a 2x SX champion. Because of one bad year?
It's one race, but looked OK to me geniuses.
Nothing has changed. He stood on camera yesterday and blamed the bike for last years short commings.
He still lacked speed compared to the top tier guys last night but after a year with Aldon again and looking way more fit, he was in a position to take advantage of all the fast guys misstakes.
He deserves credit for that, but don’t act like he has title contender speed again.
Well he got 2nd last year too and we all know how the rest of the year went.
But sure, good start to the season for Webb.

That's suggesting that Cooper even in his championship years was as fast as the top riders.
He placed exactly where he should be.
He wasn’t far off tomacs fastest time at all. Sooo
I'm not a Webb fan, but I told you guys so. It's just one race but thats exactly how he looked his championship years, eating dudes up the last few laps while they struggle with a beat up track.
Just like all the other clients of Aldon?
Where did he finish at A1 in 2022?
So Cooper has won two 250 SX titles, and 250 outdoor title, and two 450 SX titles and about 20 450 SX main events, is the point people are trying to make is he is lucky? Or not fast? Or it's all Aldon? I really don't get the point.
Wrong, he was fast and consistent and used Tour de France aerobic coaching to finish where he did. He realized in the offseason that Alton is the best in the business....well besides John Tomac.
Web did what web does got second at A1 again this year just like last year , he looked strong
Track was brutal, no long whoop section, he did good last night but it's just one race
I think we are in for a treat with 2019/2021 Webb and this version of Eli battling
Maybe but this isn't 2019/2021 Eli
He was faster than sexton in main event, and sexton was in the lead for some time with clear track. Webb was 3/10th of Tomac.
So with better start he will be around podium but still I can't see him being in title hunt.
I’m a huge webb fan. I think he has a funny mental game about him. Really happy to see him finish that race as strong as he did.
I seem to recall from his championship year that he set his bike up to perform better later in the race which was seemingly the reason he tends to fade backwards early in the race then seems to find his juju at the end of the race. That and his line choices in corners reminds me of Dungeys style but taken to another level.
He was also sucking wind pretty good by the end of that race. I noticed he put his head on his handlebars after the race was over. He seems to hit the anaerobic stage and keeps it there for the last half of the race. He always manages it well during the race but at the end he’s gassed.
I like tomac and webb so hopefully this goes down to the wire with these two but it’s still super early in the season.
I don't like him blaming the bike either. He looked tired last year and I just wouldn't blame the people that sign my paychecks either.
Anybody notice he didn’t thank KTM or Redbull?
Pit Row
Ok so what about Stewart, Swoll, Hampshire, Vohland, Musquin, Dungey, Plessinger, Wilson and all of the MXGP guys who also agreed the bike sucked?
Who is this "Alton" guy you keep bringing up? This is the third thread I've seen you talk about "Alton".
Man he had a shit eating grin on his face after the race. It’s going to be a good season.
Unfortunately for him the race is more than one lap. He was right with Eli and Eli left him behind. A great ride, but not as great as Eli’s.
I dont know what fucking race you all watched, but i thought that was a solid performance, against a lot of guys who were riding very well, he didnt get a gift that anyone else didnt get (Barcia and Mookie) and his demeanor on and off the bike was a step change from '22.
Yea he did
If you listen closely a lot of these guys don't thank anyone.
I just rewatched the race and he does thank Red Bull ktm
They can't!
After watching his off season races, I personally wrote him off as a title contender. He sure proved me wrong last night. It will be interesting to see if he shows the same improvement on a track with a big boy whoop section.
Webb Derangement Syndrome in full gear already this year.
The assassin was back last night. That 2nd place came by working thru the pack from 10th....including passing Sexton.
Webb rarely blames anyone/anything else for his failings. I was shocked to see him come out and say the bike "sucked" last year. You know it's bad when that happens.
Sure, it's one race. We'll see how the season goes for the 2 time champion.
He looked a LOT like 2021 last night. Slow start but strong finish.
