Back in the day when they paid someone to race they raced...
Why?
JCoop should have been allowed to defend his 250 SX title..... but the idiots running the show think otherwise... and Star is just clueless with JCoop.... you can't bench a 450 SX rider the first four rounds... wtf??
Bummer, I really wanted to see him out there. You think it’s because the team doesn’t want to pay for mechanics, etc… for an extra rider, or do they think he’s not ready and don’t want him to get injured?

Wasn't that the plan from the start that he would race select 450 races in '23 SX, not the whole series? They didn't technically have a 450 spot available but are doing him a solid due to the circumstances of him being advanced out of 250SX. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.
Are there any videos of him on the 450? Maybe he just needs more time to adapt.
Bummer, I'm really looking forward to seeing J Coop on a big bike.
edit: Maybe a combo of parts availability and his comfort on the bike?
Yes sir. I still don't understand why it is "select" races, unless they are having him pound outdoor motos to try and dominate the summer. I am not a fan of Cooper, but do think he deserves to do all the races with his past performance. I think many are assuming Cooper wants to do the whole series and Star is telling him he cannot. For all we know, HE may not want to do them all.....and instead dip his toe in the 450 water and not have expectations.
He was allowed to defend his 250sx title. He was actually injured and due to his injury he was not able to defend it. What you're saying and what actually happened are 2 different things.
Honest question, why are you even here?
All you do is bitch and complain about the sport. You complain about the broadcast because it should be free on YouTube, that you won't watch because of smaller whoops, won't watch because Jett is racing 250SX and "will have zero competition and lap the field", can't stand Racer X, etc.
Yet here you are posting on the biggest MX forum and you'll be glued to your screen tomorrow watching the races like everyone else and posting on here.
I don't get it.
You forgot he won't even watch any of the Nationals because it is ran by MXSports. I'm not sure what racing he actually watches.
Before everyone dogpiles on Star with zero information, here's some potential, non-nefarious completely legitimate reasons why they would postpone his debut:
- J Coop doesn't feel ready
- Star doesn't feel J Coop is ready and doesn't want to put him in danger when it's completely unnecessary
- They don't have enough spare parts yet for 3 450s
- J Coop has an undisclosed injury or is banged up
- They have some additional parts they need tested and would rather utilize him back in Florida for more testing
- To piss off VitalMX
Take your pick and move on. No rider is ever "owed" a ride that isn't in a contract. Some of you need to go buy your own SX team since you know so much more about how to run one than everyone else.
Any idea what his last 4 usernames were?
And he's boycotting KTM products (they didn't answer his phone call) and Yamaha products (Deegangate). He even changed is username from gt80rider because he felt that was supporting Yamaha.
I don't know what's left in this sport for him to enjoy.
I just feel he is getting the short end of the stick. Could not defend his SX title. Then in outdoors he rides himself into shape and all the haters just bag on him during the season how bad he is riding. Earns a spot on the MXDN team and kicks ass!. Hope when he does go to outdoors he get some redemption for how good he really is.

wow haha! What a whiney little girl.
Pit Row
Lame, but not surprised. Sexton is 2 years younger and has already been in the 450 class for 3 years. Justin will be 25 this year he’s more than ready for a 450. But I guess if he’s getting paid the same it’s no skin off his back. It’s not like he’ll be able to ride 250 sx next year anyway. Completely banking on 250 motocross and having the whole season revolve around Motocross doesn’t make sense when he’ll be 450 next year anyway. Why not get a jump on experience?
Check his latest IG post.
Get rid of 'cc' and 'stroke' rules. Run what's best for you.
450s are dangerous he should stay 250 forever
Weak.
Don't really care if its his decision or teams - doesn't make much difference.
Only caveat is if he is injured (if he is idk why they would not disclose this - would help his and the teams image during this decision).
The Yamaha 450 is a new platform this year. I'm certain the scooter needs more testing, parts, etc.. Why put a non-championship contender on it right away?
From what I understand is that Star and JCoop are running select 450 rounds to give him time on the 450 and to see how he stacks up healthy against the field with the ultimate goal of 250 outdoor MX title. This is a tryout as well as championship hopes
It’s gotta be difficult being that miserable all the time.
He could run the 250f in the premier class if he felt it was best for him.
He's here for replies exactly like this, but I get where you're coming from. Trolls just want to get your goat.
He's in his 50's, but I get what you're saying.
Dude is really in his 50's? How embarrassing...
