Nissan needs a new Hardbody
I too ordered a XL hybrid in cactus gray. Have heard anything for a build date yet? Crossing fingers I get it before summer time.
Some good old fashioned Ranger Danger
FYI, Having gone through the process of ordering, waiting (hardest/longest period) and finally receiving my Maverick, I found this to be my best resource for all things involved with Mavericks: Maverick Truck Club (MTC). If you are not already following that site- I highly recommend it. Buying a Maverick is a real roller coaster over a long time frame, and it's helpful to know what to expect and see other people's experiences to hopefully guide you a little along the way. Good Luck!
*Mods please note* I am not affiliated with Maverick Truck Club in any capacity- just trying help my moto brothers with seeking information. THX!

I need a new hardbody! This old 1 is starting give up on me and interfere with my moto more often!
Love it. I've owned 4 Rangers, 2 Rancheros, 2 Chevy LUVs (Isuzu rebadged), Datsun (before NIssan) mini and currently my Maverick. There's a new 6th generation Ranger out now around the world (except North America) that looks really promising. I'm waiting for NA reveal to check it out and might just have to trade my Maverick for 1 if I like it
FY1, the Ford website is only showing the "2023" Ranger which is the last year of production of the current platform (5th generation).
There is a new 6th generation already in production globally, but due to be unveiled & start production in North America 1st half of 2023- as a 2024 model. Very little information out on the North America version- except confirmed we are getting a Raptor Ranger!
No build date. My first one took 9 months, and I'm not in a huge rush. I just hope I get it eventually. A lot of other forums and posts are saying a year+ right now.
They told me it'd be a few months and I waited about 8! This was at the end of '21, though, so hopefully things are moving more quickly now. You'll be happy once you get it! It's a great little truck.
sweet. when I was young, I had a 54 and then a 46. great trucks.
not tiny but not big. 24mpg, better if I keep my foot out of it which seldom happens.

Digging up an old thread...
Have y'all seen the Toyota Hilux Champ?
From what I gather, Thailand is the primary market for the time being. Base price estimated to be the equivalent of about $13,000
Thoughts?
It’s super frustrating we don’t get the smaller trucks/utes in the states. I get the whole “we like our trucks big” thing or whatever the trend is but there is clearly a market for smaller trucks here too which we saw with the highly anticipated Ford Maverick. Come on Toyota, give us the Hi Lux!!!
I drove several Hilux in Afghanistan, they may have had some added extras lol, and have wanted one since. Diesel, took a beating, no maintenance was every done, and it kept going.
Top selling vehicles overall in Australia are the Ford ranger and Toyota hilux. We have only been getting imported rams and silverados for a few years now. I was tempted to get a Silverado this year but drove one back to back with a new ranger and getting the ranger was an easy choice. Silverado looks cool, but uses more fuel, was hard to manoeuvre in a park, slow, less driver comfort. I am not sure why they are so popular over there…
If you shared the roads with pro125, you would pick the Silverado over the Ranger.
Pit Row
How's everyone like their Mavericks? Been eyeing them up, but a little hesitant on how reliable they'll be once they're over 100k. I miss the convenience of a truck but despise driving a giant tank that won't fit into a small parking spot.
What’s a pro125? Searched it and couldn’t find anything.
@profeshenal125 he drives semis
I really wish manufacturers would start to bring back affordable, no frills vehicles to North America. I don't need half the shit vehicles come equipped with now. It's simply driving up the price to absurd levels. I live in the rust belt, vehicles have a much shorter life here as well.
They (and the Bronco Sport) seem to be holding up just fine, long term is still a bit early to call, of course. I wouldn't be any more afraid of them than anything else on the lot right now.
I've had a Maverick for almost 2 years and love it. Can't speak to how it'll be over 100K as I only have about 26,000 kms on it (about 16,000 miles). Had an F-150 before and have no regrets. I don't do any heavy hauling but I've been surprised what I can fit moving furniture, etc. Certainly much easier to maneuver in parking lots than a full sized truck, and much more fuel efficient. I have the 2.0 with AWD and it's great in the snow (with the appropriate tires).
22' Lariat 2.0 AWD. Love it. 26000 miles, 26 mpg. Don't haul a lot, but I am able to haul some stuff if I need, got other rigs if I need bigger.

Fast forward......
I'd kill for that little Thai truck. I just want something small and reliable that can fit a dirt bike and bicycle in the back. I'm comfortable with my manhood enough to not need a lifted diesel with 40" superswampers to show everyone what a big man I am.
it's a good "truck" for what it is- which is a compact SUV with small open bed behind 2nd row of seats instead of enclosed storage. I bought a 2022 XL with 2.0 Turbo + AWD + 4k tow package as a place holder waiting on the new generation Ranger which I hoped would offer the SuperCab + 6' bed version like previous generations and already sold globally in new 6th generation. I had reservations about a transverse mounted front wheel drive truck and hoped the AWD would erase any issues of torque steer, but it didn't. My Maverick did not feel at all like a traditional rear wheel drive truck. If I wanted to go moto with 2 bikes and all gear it required using my trailer for the bikes and the bed filled with gear and the back seat too. Sure, we've seen pictures of a Maverick with 2-3 bikes in bed with tailgate down, but where does the extra people, dogs and gear go for a full day (or more) of riding? It's just not practical or ideal and to me there's no point in having the Crew Cab unless it doubles as a family hauler daily driver for you.
I waited over a year for Ford to release the new Ranger in America and they completely shit the bed. I later learned that Nissan still made a King Cab with 6' bed with multiple trim level options and finally drove 1 and was sold. Bought mine in December and sold the Maverick back to my original dealer for what I paid for it and the Frontier has fit me perfect in every way since then and much more like a refined version of the mini trucks I started with back in the 1970s. Best bang for the buck in mid-size category right now too IMO.
An article that was posted in Non-Moto about it if anyone wants to check it out. 10k truck.
