New rule. When discussing equipment stop using years or months. It means nothing.
DON’T say: My boots are amazing I’ve had them for 3 years, they are like new! Don’t know why yours are trashed.
SAY: My boots are amazing I’ve used them for 20 hours, they are like new! Oh? Yours have been used for 150hours? Never mind.

end of mini rant😅

Using a time frame is fine if. You ride most weekends like most of us. If some1 tells me their boots lasted 1 year I will assume it's 1 year riden about 40 times.

Surely with a frame of reference, like "I ride once a week and they've lasted 2 years so far" is no worse than anything else?

No offence, but I honestly can't imagine being annoyed enough by something like this to start a dedicated thread on a forum telling people what not to say.

Maybe slightly ironic, but I agree entirely on Lites class, stop that shit 😂

What about stop saying '2023 model', when it's May 2022.   It's built, and in the showrooms.  It's a 2022 model.  It's not from the future.

Telling a bunch of Vitards what gets under your skin makes a lot of sense!

Not to mention that the boots of one rider will take significantly more damage and stress than that of another rider. I find it hilarious when someone states an issue they have with a product then a bunch of people chime in about how great theirs are when they hardly use said product or it does not see anywhere near the amount of stress.

My boots are just over two years old and they are solid. Even the soles look great.

So it’s like last gear used for .5hrs about 105 hours ago, and used for a full 5 hours, about 201 hours before that? There was some usage about 645 hours ago for around 3-4 hours, with about 2-3 hours of usage every 82 hours which occurred about 2065 hours ago. Heck, I remember earlier in this 8760 hour period of time where I used them for a good 5-6 hours.
