Vital MX Site Updates | Feedback and Support

As a senior UX/UI designer I can see positive changes so far. I like the breathing space created by better fonts size selection and the negative space around some of the elements. I can see some Padding issues on home page still though.

Didn't have much time to look around properly but I found just few things looking at things for 5 minutes really:

1. While typing this message (or any other message) I like to structure the content a little. But now while pressing space it always acts like a double space, instead of just going down one line only. So the only way to write now is to write continuous text so its all in one nice paragraph and hit the spacebar only if you want to start new paragraph 2 lines under. Not really huge, but its a change

2. Obviously the update logged me out. But while I was about to post this response, I was scrolled down in the content of this thread I could not find the login button. I remembered it under the main menu as another contextual menu, but now its not "Sticky" anymore, so it disappears while scrolling down. It would not be an issue, its a common practice to colapse views, but it should be back up on the first prompt to scroll back up. But it isn't, you need to scroll all the way up to reveal the contextual menu with Login and Search.

3. Main menu drop-downs. It would be better to have the main menu categories to expand on hover rather than click. Its just not neccessary in my opinion. I understand that might be some issue regarding Desktop vs Mobile where the behaviours differ but on the web space there is no neccessity to click to reveal submenus. And for "Forum" tab in the menu, this is the one which needs the dropdown submenu the most, and its not there. This is driving me n*ts every time I need to go through that proces of clicking on Forum tab, waiting, getting AD, clicking again, waiting again, and then revealing the categories. And then clicking and waiting again to see a forum post. Why not to remove the unneccessary steps? I do understand that there might be the full screen Avertisement element why its done this way, but common, it needs to be more user friendly .

And btw using Safari on desktop while writing and reviewing this. 

Typing a reply on IOS in chrome is weird. The page jumps around and you can’t really see what your typing. The scroll won’t stay on the text box. Jumps above or below. 
 

I think the Alerts are totally cool. It’s a small thing, but one that’s been needed for a long time. Good job ML

Couple tiny nitpicks...

Fix the header logo because it has been fuzzy for a long time on any device (mobile up to 2k monitor for me). Should be nice and sharp.

The main forum section is just ever so slightly "off". I think it is the bold/inconsistent font underneath Moto-Realated. Also, the inconsistently sized horizontal line breaks:

1. Shift+Enter is your friend for that. This is pretty normal in a lot of cases these days (from my experience).

Edit: I might have misinterpreted your first point? I still think we are talking about the same thing, but you said "space". Let me know if what I said helps...

Are PM's finally going to work?  I see a mail section now.  

ML512, can we get a "Dark Theme"? The white background is way too much.

What about having the page number selection back vs. first, previous, last.  Helps find where I left off on a multi pager that is popping off. 

Don't know if it's been previously mentioned.   Spell check highlights incorrectly spelled words but when you right click to fix them...a "paste" pop-up shows up.    

EDIT: I'm using Brave browser on a desktop PC.

Page keeps jumping around on iPad. When you scroll, stop scrolling, resize page it jumps around, even while typing this and moving page up or down to see what I’m typing it jumps around… not sure if I’m explaining it right but it’s something I’ve never seen on any other forums. It’s like the responsive design is way too sensitive. 

Hey @ML512 , I @CPR haven’t been able to login since the new site went live.

It just says my account details aren’t recognised, so I tried making a new account on the same email to comment about the issue, but it said that email already had an account….

So I made another account as Unrecognised and put this comment in the “I don’t like change” thread, (this thread hadn’t started yet):

Hey @ML512 i haven’t been able to log in since the updates; says my account details are not recognised. Maybe others are having the same issue? But you wouldn’t know it because they can’t login to comment 😂 

I emailed about it today. Made this account just to make sure you’re aware. Happy to get rid of it once the issue is rectified.

Then the next day I couldn’t login on the Unrecognised account because, you guessed it, the account details weren’t recognised.

Now I’ve made this third account to comment here, but once I leave I probably won’t be able to login again!

I still have this going on. When viewing thread titles in a forum. Pages. Vs before it was all one page. Double checked on the Moto Related forum just before I clicked this thread.

Can we get a "Mark all as read" for notifications? 

It would be cool too if the user feed showed new replies to threads the user has commented on. Right now I think it just shows other users you follow?

For me personally everything is a little bit slower, but I will learn to live with it, like you guys learned to live with me

Had previously always signed in with email and had those details saved to automatically fill in the login, never thought to try user name instead….doh!

Good so far. My only problem is seeing if you up or down voted something with the grey thumbs. Also seeing a name of the person who did instead of a profile pic. Those are my only gripes, otherwise it seems good to go.

Really need to bring that preview button...

Did everyone get logged out or was another one of my accounts blocked? 

Seems coincidentally that it got upgraded then couldn't log in.

New site is very clunky that's for sure.

Same here on iPhone Safari. The page jumps every time the banners flash.  It’s a nightmare trying to click on anything. Seems even worse today than yesterday.  👎

Works fine on my desktop with Chrome. Some of the new features are cool, too. 

Some topic titles turn red after clicking into the thread, some don't.... 

Red means they are unread.

Grey means they are read.

I have a problem with titles staying red no matter how many times I clicked on them.

So this is pretty funny cause this issue happened to me a long time ago like 2010-12ish?
But With the new updates I can no longer log into my old account(s)

So It use to be a total crap shoot when I clicked the Login with FB button if it would log me into Sloyer or AKMX17
But not now its just made a new account? When i do the recovery lost PW i just get logged into this new account. 

I dont really care though but heads up if anyone else is running into this problem
