I guess it’ll always come down to the rider using the bike to it’s strengths.
Well, you have nothing to lose by going with a 250F. You could try it and see how it goes. If you don’t do well enough you can sell it.

Rideability: 250f
Enjoyment: 250 two stroke

Best engine ever for Moto: 350
Best engine ever off-road: 300 two stroke

That's my humble opinion.No need for a 450 unless its a snowbike

You can’t really go wrong with any modern bike 2 or 4 stroke. I have a 250 2 stroke and a 350 and both have pros and cons. My litpro data shows I’m faster on my 2 stroke, but I can ride harder longer on the 350. I think a lot of it comes down to what you like riding. The 350 likes to be ridden like a 2 stroke.

Pros for the 4 stroke: traction on the dry hard pack
Cons: fart sounds

Pros for the 2 stroke: sound, power, weight
Cons: erections lasting more then 4 hours should have medical treatment.

One of my bikes is a YZ250 with a few minor mods. I rode my sons brand new kx250 and I couldn’t believe how weak it was compared to the yz.

Close, real close. So close they should be included in the same shootout. If you want to spin your tire ride the 2T. If you like to stay hooked up ride a 4 stroke.

I own both, four strokes simply hook up better. Two strokes are more fun.

They've been raced together in Canada at the pro level for years and years now, very close.

deep sand the 2T is better, that's about it.

250Fs are great, you can lug them if you want, or let them scream.

Suspension set up and roll sped can give you that planted feel with a 2T. The FWW will give you the feel of the 4T engine. I struggle with this decision as well.

I had a yz250 with flywheel weight, dep pipe and dep standard length silencer, that thing was smooth and would pull forever. Felt almost like a 4 stroke compared to when it was stock

I didn't see a single 2 stroke in the top 10, 250 A or B @ the mini O's. Are they really better? Just Sayin'.

If you think a 250f is as powerful as a 250 two strokes you are mistaken !
Last year at the track i had my 250 yzf 2021 with GET ECU with agressive map, FMF full exhaust, powerflow twinair, bigger carbon airbox (a really powerfull 250f) and i tried a stock 250 yz 2021 and a 250 CR 2006 well my 250f was no where near the two above in term of punch and power ! The 250 yz was so agressive i couldn't believe it.
Anyway if you want something similar try a 350 or 450 (but a 250f still have the best balance of power/handling in my opinion)

The new kawis you gotta ride high up in the rpm’s to get into the power. Everyone knows this. Sounds like you were trying to ride it like a 450 lol. Downshift and rev that thing out dude.
