I have thought about going to the Publication Party they sent out an Email about, the other day, so, I shouldn't bitch about spending money.............
Hey, at least the postage / freight wasn't more than the book - it's actually pretty good, if it does come quickly. I've had things come from the USA , Britain and Europe, within 3 working days, at times, and that's pretty bloody impressive.
The 2022 MXGP Album, well, they charged me more for the postage than the book. Something like 42 Euros for the book, 47 Euros for postage.
I love Books, I've (happily) spent a small fortune on them over the decades, but companies making money on Postage / Freight, does rankle with me. It's not hard to check postage / freight rates, and seeing companies, at times, probably making more profit from what they tack onto freight than the actual book, well, that does not make for a happy Old Bear.
Anyway, It's been a bit of a wait, as it's been in preparation for quite some time, but I'm sure Dave Dewhurst is going to produce a phenomenal book.
Something I found terribly sad was his mentioning Gaylon Mosier saying to his mechanic he was "going to start training, Monday".
What I found so sad was, if I remember correctly, Gaylon Died on his bicycle doing a bit of training ( sometime around one of the Unadilla races?).
I'm Not having a go at Hannah, it just struck me (pretty hard).
For so many years I rode Bicycles for my training, for both Bicycle Racing and Motorcycle Racing. And, nowadays I think of the risks, near Death experiences from F*ckwits in cars, not giving a damn about another Human Being. I kept out of the way, never held up traffic, never ignored stop signs or traffic lights (like so many cyclist tend to do) but no, you'd have an idiot / arsehole think it was fun to clip you. Cripes, what stopped me on my local day rides, last year, was getting clipped (I think by the same prick) by a ute with BIG Truck sized mirrors (that they used to) clip me, who Had to swerve over on a wide bit of road to get me, each time. I know the Ute, and one day, they'll bloody well get theirs, but it will be face to face, not using a steel cage on wheels as a weapon.
I've just started pedaling a few Ks each night, around the block, to get my legs moving again. At night, because there's bugger all cars around (and, in this Magpie Season, the feathered Assassins' are tucked up in their nests
On a side note, this book is based on an era way before my time.

BTW, of all the riders you could pick, those two are the least worthy to compare to Bob.
