Worst Dirt to Clean off of Bike?

Alright no pics available from me, but if you have any share them.

I was discussing with my pops i think muddy Glen Helen Dirt might be the most difficult to get out of all the damn places without a through cleaning! Seems that the sand base of it makes it stick to things in places that you wouldn't other wise have dirt in, and you clean the bike and dry it and there's a got damn spot you missed even after using the brush and a towel.

on the flipside, When i ride at Perris/Elsinore/lacr The bike cleans up so easily Grinning Grinning

Any other places that make cleaning more work than it needs to be? Im curious how you southeast folk hold up with that red dirty/clay. or the black dirt way up north.

Red clay for staining and sandy mixtures like budds creek seems like there’s always some you miss and can hear it in your brakes, linkage etc

Perfect day is when there is 0 dust and just a bit of wet dirt stuck under your fenders/skid plate

I'd say Gatorback, but not necessarily the mx or sx track, but when they used to run the hare scramble and include the lime rock mine next door. Maybe it's actually the worst dirt to NOT clean off, because if you leave it on for more than a day, the lime will stain/etch/etc everything on your bike.

I'll second the clay and add that when its clay that's had oil dumped on it to keep the dust down is even worse.

Saw a couple of threads on here about dirt with lime mixed in Whistling

Red clay hands down. Ridden in the south before and there’s nothing as tacky as that stuff.

Red Bud mud without a doubt is the worse to clean off of your bike. It leaves a film that must be scrubbed off and it never comes out of your jerseys.

In Baja Mexico there are mud flats fed by agricultural runoff. It's fine silt and clay mixed with alkaline chemicals.
I call it "poo mud" and it etches aluminum frames, cases, hubs- leaving a dark stain.

Just another reason to leave your "nice" bike at home and ride the beater LoL.

Here in Socal I'd say Lake Elsinore. Stuff turns to concrete on the bike.

I've ridden red clay my whole life and it's a pain, but whatever that shit is at Gatorback it's like concrete when dried.

No real need to explain. Just "Gatorback" says all you need to say... but for those unfamiliar, blue clay, white clay, red clay, limestone, sand, and peat. Just the most unholy mix of shit you've ever seen and it turns into concrete once dry and absolutely ruins everything on your bike.

There goes my idea of rescuing Pierre Karsmaker’s late 70’s works RC250 sitting at the bottom of Gatorback’s quarry. The race fuel has probably gone bad anyway.

Two types for me. Red clay of East Texas needs a scrub rather than just a power wash to get the stain off. But the fine sand os Southern New Mexico was tough because I really had to clean the whole airbox rather than just the filter. The sand just found it's way into everthing.

IMO its Clay hands down. Even with a pressure washer it can take 30+ minutes of wetting the bike down and letting it soak for a bit before that crap will come off. When I see people say to never pressure wash a bike I'm always curious to what kind of riding they do that a garden hose is all you need.

Lmao...I triple dog dare any of you to take 1 muddy lap around the Jeeps Cycle Club in Park City KS...and not agree that it's the worst. It's horrible fresh and takes a chisel when dry. I ain't joshin'.

You Socal guys who say Elsinore or Glen Helen must have never ridden at Barona Oaks. It's greasy, red clay that bakes onto anything hot and turns into ceramic pottery. Plus, it stains plastic.

Kauai. Ruins your gear never washing out and bike plus the salt air ruins bikes quickly. Awesome place to ride track right on the beach thou.

Rice hulls and clay at Argyll Park. Adobe bricks on the bike if not washed off before dry.
