CTI. If you’ve had a prior knee injury you can get insurance to cover the cost of custom CTI braces. Ossur (manufacturer of CTI) has some creative insurance coding to get both braces covered. Get an appointment with your General Practitioner and they can write you a scrip.

I ran 15 year old DonJoys until I found out I could get CTI’s through insurance with no out of pocket cost to me.

FWIW --- I've held onto 2 pairs of braces:
Asterisk Carbon Cell One + Mobius X8 (I could never get the POD K8s to fit my legs). What I have learned is that PROPERLY tightening the straps = KEY KEY KEY for fitment and general protection. Time spent on getting this correct is critical ---> The strap below the knee is what sets you up for success or failure.

I like my new pods. I’ve had both knees worked on twice and always wondered about insurance coverage for the ctis just never checked on it

I like the carbon cells a lot, from a guy with zero knee injuries. If you have serious problem though custom brace might be the best route.

CTI for sure.

I've got a extra pair of Mobius that Ill happily let go for a $200 if you want to try a low cost option.

You may as well ask what our favorite food is. The answers and reasons are going to be all over the place, and nobody is wrong.

-For me, my first set was the old EVS Vision knee braces (yep, super low cost). They were very affordable, better than nothing, and I found them to be comfortable. I used those for several years.

-The next set was a set of EVS Carbon (I cannot recall the model of them), and I hated them. I wore them maybe twice before selling them. The reason was because I found them to be extremely uncomfortable.

-Once I sold those, I bought a set of used Möbius off of Facebook Marketplace and loved everything about them. I’ve since bought a second set for no other reason than it was a deal I couldn’t pass up.

-Two years ago, I tried a set of the then latest and greatest EVS Carbon braces and, like the previous ones I owned, hated them the second I strapped them on.

If you’re able to try several brands on, do so.

Tried Custom CTI's in the 90's and hated them, so restrictive. Been racing since the late 60 and by choice prefer no knee braces. Lots of crashed on skis, dirt bikes and MTB. Knees are good.....perhaps it is all luck

I do - and kept both. It's been multiple years ... still deciding. Wacky? Yep. Both good products in my opinion.
