God people just really forget how good RC was . He made really good rider s look slow .even made stew look no way near ,sometimes (outdoor s) . Imo Reed from 09 / 11 could beat Tomac in races . Reed was no where near RC outdoor s . Plus I'd put RV /dunge ahead of Tomac too.

RC, no question. Eli loves to win, but RC hated losing more than he loved winning, so he always had that extra gear tucked away, even when he looked like he was going as fast as he could. Beast Mode Eli sure as hell wouldn’t make it easy on him though.

Most likely RC over a full season, but he never would’ve even come close to 24-0 with a prime Eli out there

Eli is one of the best to do it. When he’s on his game it’s something to behold. But RCs will to win that was driven by his hate/fear of losing made him go to another level that really I don’t think his natural ability should’ve been able to get to. Be fun to watch them though

Just to verify I was talking about them going at on 2 strokes for 1 30 minute moto. I guess I'd lean towards RC because he did actually race them as a Pro and swept an outdoor season on one. With that said Eli looks amazing on one, has the more modern riding style, and if he went full Beast mode it could get interesting. Someone said Dungey, but I think they both have him covered. I'd also like to add prime Bubba and RV in too, but I think RV has always been a 4 stroke guy. Not to mention he got beat by a 15 year old who doesn't even race anymore at Hangtown a few years back in the 125 race. Not trying to stir the pot, I just thought it was an interesting topic.

2015 Eli was the fastest I've ever seen someone ride a bike for 2 and 1/2 rounds. I was also around to witness RC and Bubba live multiple times in their primes and they would of had nothing for that version of Tomac. But again I'm getting off topic. Which was them all on 250 2 strokes.

I'll half agree with this. Nobody beats Hangtown 2015 Tomac. Nobody. Over a series, RC would find a way.

Has Tomac even ridden a 250 2 stroke outside of the couple videos he's done?

You have to look at the level of competition. RC was just way above his competitors speed. Tomac is above his competition but definitely not as far above as RC was to his competitors. With speed and hanging it out for 24 motos, No one pushed RC for 30+2 EVER. I like RC, but this has to go to Tomac.

RC would probably win 75% of the races between the two of them, but Tomac would have his days also if they were to compete in a full season.

MX has changed a lot in 10 years. RC elevated the sport 10 plus years ago and now this new crop has elevated it even higher.

I don’t think you can ever argue Rc wouldn’t win a championship between the two, because he beat James over the head with all his speed… but one day? Eli put 90 seconds on Dungey in a moto. Not some 125 guys, Dungey. He has alien speed.

I think thats a major reason why he retired. He knew stew was gonna push him somewhere he did not want to go, and he knew he would go there.

The bikes have changed some but, the races have always been won in the turns. Nobody ever got on the gas sooner than RC. Not now, not ever.

I'm a big Tomac fan, but I would never bet against RC. I would take RC over any rider of any era.

RC played James (outdoors) like a drum. He pushed Bubba into massive crashes and yeah,,,, it was strategic, intentional. Ricky would say things, 'fmotp' for instance, knowing that James would try to live up to it. RC tries to come off as modest (except towards Emig) because it's more endearing but, he put his foot on the throat of this sport for a decade. He might be standing on a box in the announcing booth, but he's the measuring stick, the high watermark, the bull of the woods, as far as motocross racers go. To deny it is the grand delusion.
