Have we heard who will be the broadcast team this year? Hoping for Weege paired with anyone but rc or emig.

Weege and Daniel Blair has to be the dream team, doesn't it?

I have no clue how hectic DB's KTM schedule is or whatnot, or if MX Sports and Feld have that much sense?

DB would be better then what we are used to. Don’t know if I’d say dream team. I liked what they did last year during nationals with the mix of different analysts. Gloved was good, stew was good, mx was good. Having a mix of voices might be a good call cause eventually the same voice over and over gets tiring.

Weege and Stew would be a nice surprise. A rotating cast alongside Weege again would be cool as well.

Blair already said in a video that his KTM gig will still allow him to continue announcing SX.

A pair with excitement and knowledge would be great.

If only we could have Bailey and Eckman back. 😢

I wonder if they want a consistent play by play voice for the entire series sx/mx/smx. That would seem to make the most sense. Blair does not sound stoked on the ktm gig I wouldn’t be surprised if he moves on relatively quick.

I don't know how he feels about the KTM gig, but if he keeps it I'd imagine it would be difficult for him to be able to announce outdoors.

It would be great to have the same announcing crew all year.

He was on a recent PulpMX show and he did not sound thrilled about it. I’m sure it’s an insane amount of work. Seems like it could be tough to juggle both.

Yeah, I would bet that if NBC/Peacock is going to broadcast the whole SX/MX/SMX series that they will want to use the same play-by-play guy for the whole thing.

Weigandt would be best for the job. But why hasn't he ever had a shot (as far as I know) to broadcast SX before? Was it because of the conflict of interest between Feld and MX Sports? Maybe that's gone now so that Weigandt can get the gig.

But I would guess it will end up being Leigh Diffey.

I think that’s exactly why he has not announced it before

Thrilled about what? The KTM thing? That’s absolutely not true, he loves that new coaching role. He said as much this past Monday on his Patreon podcast.

I don’t sub to his patreon but he was just saying the amount of work involved etc was maybe more then he thought. This is just off memory. I’d have to go back and listen to get actual quotes. I’d definitely expect him to talk somewhat positively about it for the PR.

They were good, but Maiers and Despain were the top for me......for this coming season please for the love of god get Ricky out of the booth. He is much better trackside or doing other special features.

"Blair does not sound stoked on the ktm gig I wouldn’t be surprised if he moves on relatively quick."

Where the heck do you get that idea from? You must not listen to his pods. Dude is stoked and implementing training protocols that he's excited about. He has a B kid that will be racing Futures next year and has never been on a SX track. He took him to a practice track and had him do a lap missing the whoops and only doing the doubles. Once he got all the doubles down he had him work for the week just on getting speed while not allowing him to hit whoops or triples. By the end he cut something like 4 seconds a lap. The last drill of the week was letting him hit the triple once just to give him confidence and then he was done. He is putting those kids on a path that builds their skills in a methodical way. He said he has been developing his plan for years. He aint going nowhere.

What's not to like? He's technically good at his job. He is very knowledgeable about the sport. He doesn't seem to fake excitement or exaggerate the narrative. He doesn't talk just to hear his his own voice.

Agree with Tumic. Weege is fine but his speech cadence is a bit on the spazzy side. Not something I want to listen to when it comes to SX announcing.

RC and Stew would be interesting, but would need a color guy in the mix.

Bullcrap. They would both bring something unique to the table. Be great to see the interaction. They both have their redundant catch phrases. Lol

I love wedge, huge fan and I think he suits the outdoors well, I hope he always keeps that gig.
Personally I don’t know if he is polished enough for SX.
