Will Peacock’s 15M Paying Subscribers Be Enough?
Even hit shows and live sports can’t seem to attract viewers to NBCU’s struggling platform.

I'm sure there will be plenty of time to complain next year but until I hear differently, I will run with the information shared at the World SMX press conference the series will be on Peacock.

Let’s not invent ways to already complain about the new package unless we have an actual reason to.

I was confused last year. I thought that this wasn't am option amd that Pracock TV was no more amd that MX had to go to a different streaming service.

They didn't have metrics that told them how many people watched SX or something like that either.

Like I said, it's confusing to me what was said last year about Peacock TV.

I f ont really care, I never bought the other streaming service after I canceled Pracock TV last May.

This exactly. I’ve really enjoyed peacock. It’s turned me into a Tour de France super fan as well. The coverage for the tour is worth the annual membership alone at this point for me.

Peacock is the only subscription service I happily pay and have zero complaints or issues.

It was never said that Peacock was going away, but the contract with the outdoor series ended in 2021. That is where MX Sports looked to MavTV etc.

It also got me into the Tour and I've kept it just to watch all the bicycle races. I'm very happy with the platform but have some very minor nitpicks.

My complaint is it could be laid out better with the user interface. The event coverage playlists go from most recent backwards towards stage one for example, which makes sense for finding the latest racing but is a minor annoyance since I'm usually a few days to weeks behind. I just wish I could get it to auto-play the other direction. Also wish I could save a series or playlist to favorites or something so I don't have to go click through sports>cycling>tour X highlights>stage X coverage (same for SX). The search function isn't so great either. Overall those are pretty minor since it has movies and soccer for my wife, racing for me, and TV and news my parents like.

Yeah, they definitely could do a better job with how it’s laid out. It can be confusing as hell and navigating the app is clunky at times. I tried to watch other races/tours, but I’m not there yet. I think the only other race I watched the entirety of was the Vuelta. Otherwise I’ll watch the highlights. The TDF coverage has been so great though.

I think I lucked out watching my first tour on peacock by watching the Eurosport coverage and getting used to that. I tried to watch Phil on the US coverage, but after an hour I switched back to Eurosport because it’s 5 hours straight with no commercials. It’s just sooooo good. Never though I’d see the day I’d enjoy watching guys ride road bikes for 5 hours live, but fuckin A, I’m hooked.

I genuinely like the app as a whole, and if SX went elsewhere, I would continue to stream.

SX, the office, and Yellowstone all in one place? Sold

Hopefully its high def with great sound. No spoiler alerts on the replays. Ability to start in progress etc.

I've only watched a few of the full coverages, just hard to set aside 5 hours, so I mostly catch the US highlights. I do try to watch the eurosport live coverage for the big mountain stages though. Coverage quality drops off outside of the Tour, but the Vuelta was pretty good. Never thought I'd be watching guys race road bikes for hours either, but the strategy aspect has me hooked and I even started road cycling as a result.

One, NBC Sports Network went away (not Peacock) and NBC wasn't offering MX Sports live coverage of MX on any of its traditional TV platforms (streaming only). Two, MX Sports and Feld wanted to get their TV rights renewal dates aligned so they could co-negotiate the superdupermotocross broadcast rights. Feld had one year left on its contract, so the MavTV deal was just meant to be a one year placeholder for MX Sports.

My biggest complaint with peacock is you can’t start at the beginning while the event is live and you have to wait a little while for the replay to come up. If you start watching it when the event starts you can pause and come back later and start watching from the beginning but that is kind of like pausing your Nintendo game because it doesn’t have a save option.

If you can't figure out peacock, you're the problem, not peacock.

I understand for much older people and people with 0 technology skills, but the year is 2022 and internet has been a thing for nearly 30 years. If you can access your email, you should be able to access peacock just fine.

You put shame to the name Saul Goodman.

I have been watching SX on peacock for two years with no issues. I guess that could change but I doubt it.

I have had Peacock since they aired SX and MX a few years ago, love them. Quick question—is there a difference between “Peacock” and “Peacock Premium”???

Premium is apparently the $5 a month plan. There is a more expensive plan too.

I'm happy to be back to Peacock. It may not be perfect, but the price is right for me since Peacock is included with my overpriced cable internet plan from XFINITY.

Just a heads up, the beginning of next year Cox cable will no longer run Peacock for free, you will have to purchase it as a premium channel.

Thanks for that Maverick as I had missed the Premium part. After just paying 19.99 for a year of Peacock, I will gladly pay 5 a month for Peacock Premium to catch World SMX January through October. I won't be surprised if they announce a similar discounted deal for Peacock Premium.
