After just reading the Phillies and Astros are going to the World Series it occurred to me that I didn't even know who the teams were in the post season games leading up to the WS and what little interest I have in stick and ball sports. Some of my buddies know almost all college, NBA, MLB stats and are into moto. Personally, my interests are about 99 percent motorsports and 1 percent stick and ball.

What's your ratio?

I love college football and watch/follow it a bit.
NFL….I’ll catch a bit of a game on occasion but, I make no real effort to watch an entire game.
Hockey is cool but, the season is just unbearably too long. If basketball and baseball vanished from the face of the earth I don’t think I’d even notice. Zero interest.
I follow MX and Supercross very close. Throw in some GNCC and they are really about the only ones I watch. Totally sucks to come into work on the Monday after a great race and have no one to talk to it about.

All ball sports are lame. Hockey is the only other sport I'm interested in, but I'm from Minnesota so it comes with the territory. I too wouldn't even notice if football, basketball, or soccer vanished from existence. If its got a motor I'll probably watch it, except NASCAR. Nascar can die as well, just a waste of gas, oil, tires and sponsorship money. Endurocross is also lame. Just guys with too much engine power for what is needed to ride over piles of garbage, I don't get it.

Your way ahead of me, I didn’t even know the World Series is coming up!

I think it also comes down to the kind of lifestyle you have. The last thing I’m doing is sitting around watching TV on the weekends, I’m always out doing things, mostly riding on Sunday’s! That’s what is so good about SX, watching it Saturday nights when the day is done.

When I talk to my coworkers I find it amazing how much of nothing they do on the weekends

Ratio wise, I’d say I’m 70/30 moto. I follow football & tennis. I grew up in Iowa, so I have many memories of going to Hawkeye games, given we have no professional teams. Not sure where the tennis comes from. It’s fun to play. Individual sports are mentally fascinating to me.

My 12 year old kid is a sport junkie. If it wasn't for him constantly wanting to watch sports I'd never know anything other than MX and MotoGP.

I watch the World Series and playoffs every year and kind of keep tabs on the teams I like throughout each season. Not into football but I’ll watch the superbowl some years. I know nothing about basketball and all the other major sports.

Maybe 85/15 for racing to ball sports. Outside of MX and SX I watch all the IMSA races.
On a related note, not many people I talk to at the track really follow pro SX and MX which I find interesting.

Basically Moto and UFC for me. I've lost interest in all stick and ball sports over the years.

90/10. I like NFL football, but really only my wife and son's team (Chargers). I knew that the Padres were in the pennant race because I'm from San Diego, but that's about all I know about baseball.

My motocross and baseball fandom levels are about equal. I watch every race and try to watch at least some of every Dodgers game. Then it’s a tie for Lakers and Rams, followed by the Kings, which I follow loosely.

The Phillies and Astros are hockey teams, right? I don't really follow hockey too much until the Buccaneers are up by three points in the fourth quarter and they are at the free throw line with a man on third.

High-School Football. The kids have heart and I’m never waiting on “commercial breaks”.

Pro-Sports (stick and ball) have become tedious in the new millennium: commercial breaks waaaaay too often, penalties for spiking a football, don’t even THINK about touching the Q-back, Kicker or Receiver.

Baseball is almost tolerable; but. Again, tv…ruins everything when you’re in the stadium.

Hoops? Forget it. They’re more about their tattoos and social awareness. F all of that. Love me a High School B-ball game, tho.

50/50. Son is into soccer and at the moment I am currently coaching two youth teams. That is his passion and we follow and allow him to venture as needed. He has attended several camps and loves the ball at his feet. He views moto as a opportunity to ride with his friends, other than that he could care less. My passion was moto but not heavily vested anymore. Casual fan these days. Having only been into moto growing up now spending time in the stick and ball community I realize how niche and inclusive moto is. Not even remotely comparable the two. World Cup is an exciting an unique event.

Out of curiosity, have you watched an endurox race in person ever?

Living near Cincinnati, I never know when any championship games are (until last year with the bungles). Played football in high school but can’t stand to watch. 4 hours to play 60 minutes, “elite” athletes needing oxygen and treatments during game. Gimme a break. Now I know it isn’t loved much in the states, but I do enjoy soccer/football. Never watched growing up, but my kid played top level (won a national championship) soccer growing up. I started watching premier league just so I knew what was going on when he played, and learned to love the beautiful game. Still don’t need understand hockey and baseball is just awful.

95% motorsports (MX, SX, MXGP, MotoGP)
5% baseball

I'm an Astros fan for life after hurricane Harvey destroyed my entire community and every material thing my wife and I owned. Astros won us free furniture and gave us hope.

Growing up, I played baseball and football all year while riding was always just a cool hobby my dad took us to do whenever we had a free weekend. So I was all over keeping up with the NFL and MLB. Once I was done playing D3 baseball after my sophomore year, I unintentionally stopped paying any attention to professional stick and ball sports. I think my mind was just ready to move on cuz that life of mine is now gone. Since then, I've gotten to focus on moto and I cannot get enough. My wife even pointed out how I've just dropped following any of the mainstream sports nowadays. Idk, just how its seemed to go for me.

I've been in the same boat as the OP most my life. I don't follow to many sports that don't include some type of racing with 2 or 4 wheels. And besides MTN bikes , everything has a motor in it.

As far as that goes , it's also sports where an individual can shine , and not rely on a team. There are one-offs like MXoN's, but even that , if a certain rider mops the floor with everyone else, win or lose, he still stands out. When I was in School, I think that's why I enjoyed wrestling so much , and competed in that sport for 11 years.....then I finally got to afford a dirt bike, and start racing. The stick and ball / school sports were over for me.

I just love racing in general.

95% to 5% for me. I'll watch anything with wheels and an engine. Professional stick and ball, only watch the Cowboys (recorded so I can fast forward), the super bowl, and the World Series. Oh, if I pass a TV with golf on, I'll watch some.

Professional ball sports blow.....not so keen on college either. They're no longer about "sport"....they're overrun by greed and politics.

Ok-- so the OP's original question was "what was your interest level" NOT what you're watching. Before I answer the actual question, I'd like to state that ANY Professional athlete in any sport has put the same desire, effort and sacrifices into making it to that level as any Pro moto guy does, and perhaps more. When I was a youngster, I was an excellent baseball and football player ,and was actually scouted by 3 Pro MLB teams, but I discovered moto when I was 14 -ish and split my time between baseball and moto, I never got a contract with any minor league teams and although I did get my AMA Pro card, I was just a super fast local Pro/ struggling Privateer at best. As I got older ,golf became my passion--and played local competitive money golf---got to a scratch +1 HDCP , but that still wasn't good enough for even the Mini-tours,let alone the big show . My point being, to make it to the highest level in any sport it takes superior natural talent, 110% committment and attention , and a lot of luck.

So back to the OP's question--- I DO follow the NFL, MLB, PGA Golf as well as SX and the outdoors and GP's --because its very exciting to me to watch the best of the best in any sport. That doesn't mean I sit and watch 20 hours a week of sporting events however. We raced 19 events this year mostly on Vintage bikes ,which means hours and hours of repairs and rebuilds too, so actual TV watching is at a minimum but I have the screen on in the garage to watch/listen to any highlights when I'm rebuilding the bikes . I'm thinking im a 60/40 moto/other split on knowing stats /records playoff contenders ,etc.. Yes ,there are a ton of asshats in the NFL,NBA , a few in MLB and maybe a few in the PGA, but there are quite a few in Pro moto too. Doesn't reduce the skill level and ability of them to perform at the highest level and I appreciate the work and dedication that got them there.

I didn't do my ratio in my initial post .My interest in MX / SX has waned a bit . Don't really know why but it used to be can't miss for me . The only nationals I watched live this past season were the 450 motos played on network tv and I realized I don't miss it that much .MXGP youtube highlights only. So I'll say NFL 60% , mx/sx 40 . The other stick and ball sports I really don't care much about .

I’ll watch MX over anything, including the Super Bowl. It’s the most amazing sport I’ve ever seen, especially when you see it live.
