Should I sell new dirtbike???

I recently bought a new Ktm 350 sxf, put two hours on it and inured my knee which will require surgery. Recovery time will be about 6 months. I have a buyer at $10300. I paid $12200 out the door. Should I just hang onto it or sell it?

A KTM 350 SXF sounds like a great incentive for your recovery. Plus you can sit in a lawn chair in your garage and admire it when you need a little pick-me-up. That's a gorgeous machine.

If it’s either one and you love it . Keep it. New 22 350’s are hard to find. And the 23 may be the same bike for the next 3 years. If they make changes most likely you will be able to retro fit. If you didn’t like it, sell it asap.

Did you like the bike when you rode it? If yes don’t take that loss now. Hold onto it and ride it when your recovered. If your getting out of the sport that’s different.

An additional viewpoint is we will be getting into the off-season for riding here in the midwest. Most of your recovery is during this time, and then bam, once you're recovered the season is starting up again and you have a basically brand new KTM waiting for you.

Agree with this too. I dislocated my wrist pretty bad last June. Just got my cast off last week.. I stared at my 22 350 iwhile I rode my stationary for three months .

I am in the EXACT same situation as you. Picked up a 23 crf250, had two track days, and blew out my ACL on my second ride. Happened about two weeks ago and I’ve had the same thoughts as you man. I feel your pain.

I guess it depends how much you like the bike, and how long you plan on keeping it. Good luck with your knee man!

Sell it while the economy is still good. After it takes a dump the market will be flooded with cheaper bikes.

All depends on if you plan on riding again when you are healed up? If not, then sell it. If you are and you like the bike, keep it. I was off mine for over 6 months and kept it after my crash. I almost sold it, but the deal fell through and I am happy that I did not sell it.

Sorry to hear. A long while back a friend broke his leg early in the season. He let me run his CR250 the rest of the season. He had to give his Cagiva 500 back to Cagiva so I never got to ride that beast. Of course back then bikes were cheaper, changed every year, and we sold them after a year.

Not to have to a pissing contest but I dislocated my knee, tore my pcl, slight tears in my acl and lcl. Tore meniscus too. I love the bike, it was and is perfect. Speedy recovery to you

So do you want to ride when you are ready? How sure are you?

I did a dislocation, ruptured knee capsule, fully torn ACL, MCL, PCL and partial LCL. In my case I wish I had a brand new bike waiting for me when I was ready, would have been a big incentive for sure. If you decide not to ride it you can always sell it in the spring for probably more than $10,300.

Keep your bike, new bikes will be expensive and hard to source.
Focus on rehab and research knee braces that may help when your back in the saddle.

6 months sounds like a long time for a knee. 96 I had a knee reconstructed ya spent a night in the hospital back then , more drama to the knee than today. I was back working on the strongest hhg rig in 3.5 months, way to early . I broke everything in my shoulder and broke a few vertebra. Riding season is nearly over in the Midwest. I think it’s pretty hard to sell a bike rt now. I would keep it. You may hv problems finding another. I went threw your town sat, 773 mi today.
