Trina find some more vet tracks in the DFW area. I love Oak Hill but they are rarely open and I messaged them to see if the vet track will be open during practice days and they never got back to me. Texplex has one but it could do with a little work . Is there any other places that have a good vet track? Cheers!
Texplex is now closed

I didn't get the appeal, my buddy said awesome awesome but when I went there were no jumps. Great dirt but one lame table. I just kept cutting the track and doing the one jump over. My son hit one of the million trees that lined the track and left in a helicopter, so theres that..

Where is "his 956 Facility"

Will somebody buy the track in Greenville and open it back up please? That place was fun.
Its in Paradise TX.

I grew up racing the dfw scene. Mosier, Burleson, Whitney, Wolf Creek all gone for sure. Amazing that Oak Hill and Swan has been around as long as they have.

We rode Holeshot Valley MX last year in Springtown and it was pretty fun.

Since I retired from VC, how's RV doing?
I always liked working with those guys.

And what happened to Badlands? Assuming urban sprawl.

Man, when I retired, I just fell off the map.

It's so strange.
I was gone about 1 year and TC called me and asked if I was available to do a race.

I said yeah, sounds like fun.

It was so weird . I hardly recognized anyone.

That's when I reminded Terry about my decision.
All or nothing, I can't be the guy people count on if I'm part time.
Whether I sucked or not, after 15 years it was consistent.
I miss it, but only the good parts. Like all the people I met, kids riding, stupid shit happening. It was a crazy time...

I haven't seen you in years. Those were some really fun days. I cant remember a race day that you weren't there.
Brandon bought a bike a year ago and went to VC to see if he could still do the jumps. He said he could but the next day he said he was so sore he sold the bike. Now he's into roping. Those sure were some memories!

As far as I know, Badlands is still going. I miss the days when Russell owned it and it was a brand new track every few months, Garth doesn't do a bad job with it, it just isn't busy enough to justify the massive track changes that Russell used to do.

The last few times I went to badlands (2-5 years ago) it was like I rented the track out. Just me and maybe 5 other people there, max, I'm not sure how they stay open.

Hey buddy, not too much. Most of our old ride spots are disappearing. Although I checked out TCP a few weeks ago and its way more organized and laid out better than in the past. Less chance of getting creamed by a quad.

Just about every vet friendly track has been mentioned already, but I’ll throw Swan out there too as a possibility. The day track can be high speed, but as far as jumps, it’s about as tame as it gets.

I think Lucky’s might be in jeopardy. Unfortunately Lucky just passed away a week or 2 ago.
I deleted instagram off my phone a while ago in a social media cleansing. Haha. Send me a message on here.

No track prep. So whatever he charges goes straight into his pocket. About 4 years ago I swore I'd never go back after riding a hard packed highway. Earlier this summer my son talked me into going out on a Saturday after he heard Garth was prepping it on the w/e's. Showed up to a hard packed highway again. Not one rut in a corner. Dirt hard as concrete and slick. Did 2 laps, loaded back up, went and got my money back and left.

Long time no see Cokeham. Where have you been riding lately? One of my favorite DFW vet tracks was North 40 in Sherman. I am not sure why they close it though

In the last 20 or so years, we have lost:

Lake Whitney
Burleson
Mosier Valley
Rabbit Run (much longer than 20 years)
the original San Antonio track (almost lost my life there, but actually beat Pedro Gonzales there..if you remember him)
Conroe
Shamrock (in Hillsboro)

There's more, but thats the grim picture....
Nocona
McAfees
Shady grove (if you consider that a track)

My neighbor took his grandson there when the kid was in town and said the same thing in July.

Rabbit Run, wow, the memories. I saw a Trans AMA there with all the Euros. Amazing. And then I raced BMX at their track.

Conroe was fun as well. Do you happen to know what happened to Angie Scot? She was the first "powder puff" I ever saw.

i just held a private ride day there with vets only, and it was a blast. VERY liked track. as soon as summer is done they will have the occasional public weekends! johnsonville is high on my vet approved layout in the DFW area.
