I need a much quicker throttle, 10% isnt going to help it needs at least 20-25%
So bike has the lock on grips from factory which as far as I can tell is only the clutch side and its got a regular throttle tube? Would prefer to just swap out or snap on a different reel than buy an aluminum tube etc if possible.
I believe I had a motion pro one on my 4stroke and it took like 2hrs to install and get adjusted right and I was barely able to turn it open with my bad wrist.

It was a machined stock assembly to accommodate the larger cam
They were supposed to do the same for the newer Mikuni equipped bikes

You can go to a 36mm carb in conjunction with above since its got less travel before its wide open.
Also the STIC carb insert actually builds revs really quickly snd has a similar effect to the above
I'm curious because I have diagnosed that I tend to ride a little sloppier to compensate for the amount of twist I need as well. So it's either WOT with eh form, or I tend to ride a little tighter technique wise but I miss the explosiveness the bike offers which does cost time.
Someone with a 3D printer needs to make a truly big cam that will fit on the OEM/ODI grips so that we don't have to buy an entire new throttle tube.

Plus the fattest cam that'll fit. I think the price is pretty good for that all as well. Do you think it made a big enough difference to warrant adding it? Conjecture, I know, but please tell.
Bruce - Yes, I'm pretty snug, slightly less play than the manual recommends. I tend to like SOME play so that the bike isn't blipping in braking bumps or other jolts at times.

If all this is too confusing, call G2 and say I want your tube with your biggest cam that will fit the stock housing. It's still not lightning quick, but it's much better than the ridiculously long throw stock grey cam.
If you want a crazy quick turn, you need to replace the entire throttle housing and cables with the Motion Pro Rev3 setup. With that setup you can put some truly big cams in. The nice thing about the Rev3 setup is the Motion Pro tubes and grips are all cross-compatible with OEM/ODI.
But if my math is right, to get a 38mm carb to open in 45 degrees, that throttle housing would have to be HUGE. Like about 3.75". I have never seen anything even close to that.
As a major DIY guy, I've wanted to figure something out but fabbing a throttle housing is a little beyond my skill set.
Seeing G2 offers 10 and 20 percent quicker throttle cams/tubes.
I saw under the cam only section they have a 30% cam, but it requires slight modification to the OEM throttle housing.
Anyone have any experience with those?

On my FC350 4-stroke I have their tube with the biggest cam they offer that fits in the stock housing. I believe they call this the +20%. See what I posted above about the relative decrease in rotation.
On my TC125 2-stroke, I have their tube and housing assembly (and cable) with the biggest cam they offer. They modified the housing before shipping it as a kit. Inside the housing you can see where they ground some relief clearance in it. The housing they use is the domino housing that came stock on KTM 2-strokes up until about 2016. I actually ordered the OEM rubber cover from a 2016 and put it on there.
Again, with stock housings and even with G2 cams, you'll get small changes. If you want a truly ridiculous quik throttle you have to do the entire Motion Pro setup. Holding the MP cams next to the OEM/ODI cams is comical.
Most will want the Rev-3 instead of the older Rev-2 which still seems to be found. The Rev-3 system uses the ODI compatible standard for the cams to snap onto the throttle tubes.. so you have interchangeability with KTM OEM and all ODI grips.
Digging this one back up again because I think it's most relevant.
What would happen if you did a DIY single cable throttle conversion? Just only installed... half of the cable? I was doing a motion pro install to try to lighten the pull up some and don't understand why the push/pull cable system is necessary? Any insight guys? Thanks!
The push/pull setup is on 4-strokes as a safety feature. 4-strokes have strong vacuum at the carb/throttle body and, in theory, could potentially experience a slide-lock situation where the vacuum will not allow the slide/butterfly to close and you will be on a runaway missile. The second cable gives you the ability to manually close the slide/butterfly by rolling the throttle backwards.

The stock KTM 4-stroke housing/reels are pitifully small and will not rotate faster than the 2-stroke setup.
The MP Rev-3 4-stroke setup uses proprietary MP cables intended for a 4-stroke, and 4-stroke cables have a large ball end for the throttle body connection, not the style of end a 2-stroke carb needs. So you'd have to try to rig something up somehow, or get a custom cable made by MP.
