As a fan of Jo and with absolutely no disrespect towards Jo, it's just too early to tell. He certainly has the potential to improve at a Stanton or Dungey like pace, but even with that potential the odds of becoming an all time great are not high.

I really enjoy seeing the guy who had to try out for his spot out perform the kids with all the hype. I can only imagine how happy Mitch must be with him (at least in outdoors this year)

Joey could have his hands full with a healthy focused Forks, let alone Hunter in SX if on same coasts.

Jo is very good and improving but Hunter/ Stylez and Hunter/brake rock changed it in his favour.

I just don't see Vialle being a huge title threat his first year here. I see Shimoda, Hunter, Cooper, RJ and Jmart being much more of a threat.

Now year 2 and 3 here I could see Vialle working into a title threat guy.

Look at others who have recently followed this same path from MX2 champ to race in the US. It took Kenny and Marvin a couple years to become title threats after making the transition.

Dylan also took awhile to adjust too.

I am in no way saying Vialle can't be a title threat. I am saying I think it could take him a year or 2 to become one.

Add Rattray,Searl. To that list. So often a young guy from Europe comes over and half the fans think the guy will clean up. Other then Jmb I don't recall it happening.

So does he win a 450 championship? Unlikely but possible. I’m gonna say 5.9% chance

He'll likely be stuck playing second fiddle to Jett his whole career unfortunately. He could end up like Windham, fan favorite and great smooth rider that doesn't have the wins and championships you'd expect because of his competition. On the bright side he'll probably be the best ever Japanese rider.

All time great. No.
But he could turn out solid.
He is 20 and will be 21 b4 he has a chance at a title.
22or 23 b4 he will race a 450.
He could get 2 250 titles and 2 450 titles but I can't see him being all time

I think some people are underestimating the way Far East Siders approach a competition. Smooth, clinical and consistent….perfect for this sport.

I think it's way to early to tell... let's wait a year and reasses after next year. This year he really struggled in the whoops which is why he got consistently beat bc Craig, Hunter, and Mosiman in SX. If he can figure that out and also figure out how to make some more aggressive passes, he'll defo be one of the top contenders as a lot of the current generation retires. But we still have yet to see if he is championship winning caliber. (Tomac, Roczen, Wilson, Webb, etc.)

There can only be so many “all-time greats.” Who is he going to surpass? RC, RV, JS, RD, ET, MC, Johnson, Glover, Stanton, Ward, and so on.

Look at riders that have actually won a championship that don’t get talked about much: Holland, Keidrowski, Dymond, Henry, Lamson…

I just don’t see Joe having a better career than any of the above so, no, won’t be an all-time great.

I think history shows that most "all time greats" make a huge impact almost immediately. There are a couple of riders that took a year or 2 but most of the greats pretty much started out as greats. Jo is already in his 4th (or 5th) year, yes he is progressing, but he is pretty much a known quantity at this point, and he will be dealing with Jett for the years to come, and Jett is and will likely always be a step or 2 ahead. Jo may win a title, but I think that is his ceiling.

Maybe not but, I'm pulling for him to beat Hunter from here on out. Now that you know who your friends are, make him rue the day Schmoe!

I like Jo .he had a great year . But it s still a huge step to be a dungey. It s that same as saying Jett is going to be an RC . I don't see either being anywhere near that .

Go back and watch how many times Hunter straight up caught and passed Jo this year, then look at how many times Jo passed Hunter. Hint: it doesn’t favour Jo.

With their different strengths, I’m looking forward to a close championship battle between the two, plus Viale and co.
Once Jo found his flow mid season sure seemed like Hunter had nothing for him. He's much younger than him too. I kinda feel like Hunter is who he is on a 250, while Jo is just getting better

No one thought Chase would be where is at. Jo has done nothing but improve, I wouldn't be surprised...he's got a great work ethic and isn't an attention whore. Reminds me of Villopoto.

I don't think so, unless the 450 and 450 racing suits him perfectly.

I can see him maybe winning a title in the 250 class and moving up as a second factory rider and having similar results as Seely when he was good on a 450.
