Haven't heard much after the few brief comments after the race.

Hope everything is OK.

Just depression. We have all been there. His disappointment was at the highest level though. He will be back strong in a week and moving forward.

Can't beat yourself up too much losing to one of the greatest ever.

He lost a championship at the last race, last moto by falling 3 times. He is probably not wanting to talk and beating himself up about it. It will get better within the coming weeks, but I would not expect him to say anything within a day or two after that race.

He needs to be excited. That is the biggest step he will ever take in his entire career. He has a window where he may dominate for a few years. Can't really talk about a perfect season next year, but who is even close? Jettson will be good next year, but Chase and Eli were on an entirely different planet this summer, Example: them winning by 1:10 in a shortened moto.

He looked completely fine on the podium. If he had heat exhaustion that would not have been the case.

Saw his IG account, looked fine other than being super bummed about the last race. Lots of positives to take away, but who wouldn't be bummed. Only one guy can win it all and he came up just a tiny bit short. He's the future of the sport, that's for sure. He will be a perennial top 3 guy in both SX and MX for the next 6-7 years. Great US ambassador for the sport.

He is most likely going through a stage of reflection, thinking about every point he gave away.. jumping on the Red Cross, Those little tip overs. Had they not happened he would be the champ now, surely it’s all on his mind.

Nope. He lost straight up. Falls irrelevant.

Lost straight up but the falls are relevant. Part of racing. Crashes are a dramatic loss of speed.

Chase was amazing this summer. He had days where he may have been the fmotp. He just missed winning a title against a guy that will go down as one of the greats when he retires. He rode his heart out and took himself to a new level. It was a treat to watch. I hope he is mentally ready to do damage at Red Bud and take it out on the rest of the world Smile

Hope he cheers up.

He gave part in one the closest seasons we’ve seen in a LONG time. There’s nothing wrong with what he delivered.

After being amazing as f and battling so hard with Tomac the entire series, there's no doubt he was bummed as hell when he came up short on Saturday. After battling Tomac to the wire in moto 1, 3 crashes and charging at insane levels to get back to Tomac the entire second moto, and all of it in 105 degree heat, I can see him being exhausted as well. I've never seen anyone do anything like that. A poor start, 3 crashes, still gaps the rest of the field and closed up on Tomac twice. Mind boggling.

Chase will have his hands full next year. Dont write off Jett and Dylan etc. Don’t hand him the championship just yet.

Obviously, but the other post made it sound like he gifted Eli the title, which is not the case. That's all.

Now they have to go from being enemies in battle to being part of the team and working together.

Chase's falls in moto 2 at Pala was totally irrelevant. Tomac would have gotten an easy second place no matter what Chase did in moto 2 and that is all he needed to win. The tip-overs may have cost him a moto win but that is all.

If Chase 'lost' the title anywhere it was in moto 1 at Ironman and moto 1 at Pala last Saturday.

Sexton should be very proud of his season. If he's depressed it's because he's such a competitor.

I don't think they have to do anything except look the other in the eye and say "Let's kick Ass!"

Can we please stop acting like the only reason Chase lost the championship was because of crashing? Eli beat him straight-up in moto 1, which forced Chase into a must-win situation while also hoping for a little luck (Tomac finishing worse than 2nd). He was obviously pushing the limits because he knew he's not winning the title riding comfortably that moto.
